I felt comfortable. They fit me into the schedule, were pleasant and professional, and not pushy.

Dr. Voss is very well educated and makes sure you understand what is wrong with your eyeballs. It's a quaint little clinic, but has two patient rooms and another one where they take some incredible photos of your eye--be sure to ask what everything is! It's incredible what the human body can do. There is a waiting room filled with a few chairs and a little play area for your kids if you decide to bring them along, there's also an additional room where you can browse for some new glasses. All in all, a great clinic with a great doctor. He's a fresh face with fresh ideas and knows what he's doing! EYE highly recommend him. TIPS & TRICKS: * *Practice staring into the sun before you go, that way you'll be his best patient when he shines the light into your eyes and you won't even blink. * LOL PLEASE KNOW THAT'S A JOKE NEVER STARE DIRECTLY INTO THE SUN OR ELSE YOU'LL NEED MORE THAN AN OPTOMETRIST.

The wait seemed reasonable for a doctors office and the staff was well informed about which frames my insurance and work covered. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience. I just went in for glasses this time around, but look forward to going back in 2 weeks for my glasses and eventually taking my 4 year old daughter in for her first time. Just a "FYI": I got the puff of air in the eyes AND dilated. They did give me some techy shades that were adjustable...but I opted to wear my sunglasses. You will also want someone to drive with you- the dilation makes your up-close vision blurry.

I want to preface this review by saying the front desk staff and the preliminary technicians were…read morefantastic. The technician was super accommodating and understanding of my son's severe anxiety, particularly his fear of heights. Unfortunately, our experience with the owner of the practice, Dr. Waterman, was appalling. From the start, Dr. Waterman set an uncomfortable tone. When he first walked in, instead of saying hello, he made an inappropriate comment about my wife resting in the corner, acting noticeably annoyed. Later, my wife asked questions regarding our son's eye health, and while he answered, he acted noticeably annoyed again. The main issue occurred at the end of the exam. Dr. Waterman had raised the chair, which triggered severe distress in our son due to his fear of heights. After the eye exam was finished, the doctor left our son raised in the air while speaking to us. My wife politely asked if he could lower the chair to help ease our son's distress. Instead of accommodating a simple, reasonable request for a child in distress, Dr. Waterman snapped at my wife, saying, "You are being obnoxious. Your son is just fine." When we insisted the chair be lowered and decided to leave due to his hostility, Dr. Waterman's behavior escalated further. He stepped directly towards my wife, physically pinning and trapping her in a tight corner between himself and the exam chair so she had nowhere to go. Standing roughly six inches from her face, he continued to berate her for being "annoying." Cornering and trapping a patient with a history of trauma in a closed room is dangerous and completely unacceptable. I had to step physically between them and command him to get out of our way before he finally moved. To make matters worse, as we were trying to exit, my wife mistakenly turned down a hallway following an exit sign. Dr. Waterman announced loudly across the entire lobby for other patients and staff to hear, "The sign says exit is that way, you can't read either." After we left, the office called to apologize and stated that the doctor admitted he was not acting appropriately and took accountability. While the administrative staff's outreach was appreciated, it does not erase the trauma this appointment caused my son or undo the way we were treated. Dr. Waterman demonstrated zero empathy, an alarming lack of professionalism, and a complete disregard for patient safety and simple accommodations. If you or your loved ones have children with anxiety or special needs, do not go to Dr. Waterman. He does not care, refuses to listen to parents, and treats patients with total disrespect.
