Turns out the lenses were under warranty because I had reused the frames from a prior pair of glasses. The frames have been discontinued. It will be a couple weeks to get the replacements and they are letting me keep the current ones while I wait. Much better customer service. I've updated to 3 stars from 1 star because they are trying to make things right. Not possible to completely recover from the original poor interactions but I have to give them credit for doing what they can. I'll update again when the glasses arrive and I exchange them. Could go up or down 1 star based on the final result.

This was one of the worst experiences l've ever had at any medical office. I arrived 10 minutes early to my scheduled appointment, to fill out paperwork. To my surprise, there was no receptionist at the desk, so I stood there waiting the entire 10 minutes, which completely defeats the purpose of coming early. Yes, they were able to fit me in due to a cancellation (which I appreciate), but it took me less than 10 minutes to complete the paperwork. I was told that I was checked in, Despite that, I ended up waiting over an hour past my scheduled time (1:20 pm) with Jepsen, Nolan L. - and still wasn't even seated. To make matters worse, people who arrived after me were being seen before me. It was clear my appointment and time weren't being respected. I've been to many eye centers before, and this was by far the worst. Unfortunately, I had to leave my previous eye doctor because of a change in vision insurance, and Mountain View was recommended to me. I seriously regret taking that advice. In the end, I walked out. This place is completely unorganized and unprofessional. I won't be returning, and I won't be recommending it to anyone. Now they want to charge me $50 dollars for missing my scheduled appointment, but seriously you guys waiting past an hour for a scheduled time isn't does not make it a scheduled appointment.

I left a comfortable provider but through insurance I was allowed to research my own provider and took a chance on Oliva Bently. This amazing individual was honest with me (she had no idea how to treat this unique problem) LOL -but prepared me for that. This awesome doctor took time to discuss my symptoms without gaslighting or dismissing my opinion of what is happening. This kind professional suggested specialists for my problem and offered pre - authorizations for that help. When my daughter went to the same Tanner clinic they hooked her up with a professional who was thorough, understanding, and kind. Its been years since my adult daughter had someone like Megan however, after just a few visits Megan moved - Ugh- starting over soon.

I returned to Retina Associates of Utah, where the original diagnosis was reaffirmed, but I was advised to "come back in two weeks" without a clear explanation for the sudden loss of visual acuity. Seeking further evaluation, I consulted two retinal specialists in Texas. Both identified a vitreous hemorrhage associated with the detachment and expressed concern that the hemorrhage prevented a clear view of the retina, making it impossible to definitively rule out a retinal tear or detachment. Given that risk, they recommended an urgent vitrectomy. The surgery was successful. My vision was restored, and the retina was confirmed to be intact. Based on this experience, I am concerned that the seriousness of my condition was not fully recognized during my visit to Retina Associates of Utah. The recommendation to wait, despite a complete loss of vision and an obscured retinal view, did not align with the urgency expressed by the specialists who ultimately treated me. For that reason, I do not plan to return to this practice for future care.
