I recently had a new prescription cared for by Eyeglass Boutique. I had three frames and was willing to replace any of them. The opticians indicated that my frames were in great shape and looked well on me and suggested I use them all. I was impressed because they could have sold me new frames. I have progressive lenses and they reconfigured mine, suggesting that this would help me see better in midrange and reading. They explained all available features thoroughly. I picked them up today and am very pleased with the improvement throughout my visual field. Their service was respectful and very friendly. I recommend them highly! read more

Grant seems fine although the first lenses were not properly made. He corrected the problem and was reasonably pleasant. His wife was not nice. Very petty. I've been wearing and buying glasses for decades. This place is below par. Don't like patronizing people like his wife. Would rather give my money to nice people. Also they were very expensive. I have worn eye glasses for distance and driving for many years but noticed it was time for reading glasses. So I went to the doctor next door who gave me a sales pitch on costly progressive lenses. Grant further persuaded me into ordering the expensive progressive lenses. He promised me if I was not satisfied I could return the lenses and he would replace them with less expensive ones - but he could not refund the difference in price since it would obviously be a custom order. I was convinced the doctor and Grant knew better than me since they were professionals - and went ahead and spent a small fortune on new glasses. Two weeks after I picked up my new eye glasses I went straight back to Grant to complain and told him I was very dissatisfied & disappointed. I explained that the reading portion of the lens was just not in the right spot. It was almost impossible to wear them and use them as they were. I demonstrated to him how in order to actually use them to read - I needed to either lift the glasses above the bridge of my nose and hold them in place - or strain my neck and eyes by looking down my nose (which was very awkward & uncomfortable) in order to see through the very tiny section of the lens that was magnifying. I told him I was not happy because after spending so much money I felt I should be able to just wear them without making such an effort to benefit from them. I told him I wanted him to re-make the lenses & fix the reading portion. He insisted the glasses were made correctly and I was not giving it enough time - that I needed to try wearing them longer to get accustomed to them. I left the store annoyed, but thought I would try to follow his advice and if I was still unhappy I could return them later. I could not get used to the glasses no matter how I tried. I ended up not wearing them at all after a while and went back to my old glasses and using a cheap pair of drug store magnifiers for reading. Then life got in the way (I moved and started a new job) - so about 3 months later after getting settled I went back again to ask Grant to replace the lenses telling him I was still not satisfied and my very expensive eye glasses were virtually useless, being stored in a drawer because I couldn't even use them for the intended purpose. He had the nerve to tell me I was too late and he could not replace the lenses, that I should have come back sooner! I reminded him that I was in his office 2 weeks after receiving my new glasses telling him how dissatisfied I was and my complaints were still the same. It was not something I could just get used to! He refused to replace my lenses or offer any accommodation. Needless to say I was very annoyed and felt totally taken advantage of. I will not return. I decided to bring the glasses Grant sold me into another store in the area. I went to Madison Eyes and showed them the problem I was having and described the issue - they explained that for my needs (distance & reading) the intermediate section - which I do not need - should have been made much smaller - so the reading section should have been increased. I knew I was not imagining the problem and something was indeed wrong. So I will be ordering new lenses from Madison Eyes when my insurance allows.
