I wear both contact lenses and glasses, so routine eye exams are a must for someone with less than perfect vision like me. All Shopko stores closed within the last year, so the optical center has been relocated to a different location on the north end of Reserve Street, in the same shopping center as Little Caesars and Grant Creek Family Medical. Since this location just recently opened, it was both clean and spacious. Dr. Greg Zell is phenomenal and is always very thorough at each appointment. He is kind, personable, and does not rush through. He always takes the time to answer my questions without making me feel like I am taking up his time. While at my visit today, I explained my current contact lenses had been irritating my eyes, so he gave me some samples of different brands to try before I commit to purchasing a box. He said if those didn't work, he would give me some others to try. De. Zell himself deserves a 5 star rating, but I bumped it down to 4 for the fact that the staff could use a lesson in customer service. Don't expect to be greeted with a smile and a "How are you?" because you won't get it from them. I don't know about anyone else, but if I am paying money for a service, I expect a little friendliness from the staff, wherever I am. They are in a customer service position after all, so I don't feel it's too much to ask. Unfortunately, more and more places have become this way.

We told her not to worry, and that they'd take great care of her. What an absolutely MISERABLE experience she had, and it has caused us to REFUSE to ever set foot in this place again. The person at the front desk was absolutely rude, impatient, and unfriendly, to say the least. She was clueless as to which insurance was and was not accepted, and seemed to hold the patient responsible for HER lack of knowledge and understanding. Then she made her wait for 45 minutes before FINALLY telling her that the Dr. wouldn't be able to see her today unless she was willing to wait for a couple more hours. This place is a JOKE!!!! Retro cat eye with rhinestones. I was able to have my prescription filled in short order. When I got back to where I live the glasses arrived within a week or so.
