They have quite a good range of frames for new glasses, and a reasonably fast turnaround for delivery. A pair of glasses is a very personal thing, and these days they do not come particularly cheap but these guys are pretty affable and will allow you to make a series of payments so you are not stuck with a big lump sum all at once to pay for new glasses. Let's face it, you are lucky to get away with a new pair of glasses for under $1000.00 if you are buying new frames along with the lenses, so if you are on a low income or even a moderate income it is nice to know you can pay it over a few weeks. This is why I have been and returned to these guys; along with the fact that they have been very supportive of people on a low income whom I have brought in for an eye checkup. If you have a Medicare Card it is a minimal cost. Once you have found a decent optician it is good to stay with them because there is a lot to be said about continuity in these situations. Friends of mine who have required glasses for shortsightedness have been able to get a new pair of glasses with frames for under $200.00 so if you are on the pension or unemployment benefits, don't let their swank address in North Terrace put you off, they're worth a visit, and it is definitely worth discussing your situation and needs before you sit down for the actual eye test, just to let them know what's what. It is best to make an appointment, but I have no doubt you'll get a look in if you just wander in off the street like I did the very first time, you may have to wait for twenty minutes, but that's not too long under those sorts of circumstances; otherwise obviously, book an appointment.

The owner of this store is a lovely guy who also offers to fix broken glasses. He takes real pride in his shop and works hard at sourcing a wide range of original frames. There are definitely some statement glasses in here, with lots of styles that are very simple if you look from the front but with a lot of detail at the sides. You're likely to find something that really suits you here, if you're looking for something a bit more interesting than an ordinary pair of frames. I'm so tempted to break my new ones just to come back here!

Name brands in stock and to mention a few are Ted Baker, Oroton, Jag, etc. It doesn't take long to get an appointment and eye examinations are bulk billed. There are three optometrists on board which takes the load off and keeps the customers happy. Turn around time for lenses is anywhere from 4 - 7 days depending on what needs to be done and if they're already in stock or require special orders.

I went to Specsavers Edwardstown to get my reading glasses for the year! I usually go elsewhere but…read moredecided to try Specsavers for a change! I discussed with the optometrist getting one pair of tinted lenses especially for the computer to reduce migraines! I purchased 3 pairs of glasses with frames and got new lenses fitted to my favorite older frames! When I got them home I found them ok to read with but when I tried them on the computer, I couldn't see a thing! I was forced to use my older glasses for both normal reading and the computer! When I rang Specsavers I was promptly told that they were reading glasses and NOT meant to be used while using the computer! I was shocked because I have never heard this before plus I discussed computer use with the optometrist and got one pair that reduced glare! I made an appointment to get the problem fixed but when I saw the optometrist was told the same thing! When I mentioned our conversation about the computer he said " how many people do you think I see, I can't remember the conversation"!! Then he told me the glasses were fine and to go home!! So either I throw my computer away or use the older glasses! I'm upset because I got my favorite frames fitted with the useless lenses as well! So now I have 3 pairs of glasses that are paper weights and out over $500 !! I am disgusted that I have wasted both my time and money on glasses I can't use!

All the staff were polite and helpful, I got better customer service than any other optometrist I've been to. There are a lot of frames to choose from and I was given assistance by Bronwyn. It was a busy day so my account was finalised by another staff member while Bronwyn went to assist other clients. I think they really need an extra staff member to cope with the walk ins, as it appeared that only two on duty. Overall the optometrist as helpful and Bronwyn was great helping me to choose frames as I'm a procrastinator. Parking is easy and convenient in the Burnside Village carpark.

It's always busy, not enough staff and I stood waiting at counter for over 10mins. During that time no-one bothered to acknowledge me and even give lipservice that I would be assisted soon. When I was finally served it took ages because there were probs putting my card through. When I advised that my previous contact lens order had been stuffed up and the wrong lenses were ordered I was met with a blank look. They are rude, too far up themselves and hopeless. I only went there initially because I'm a BUPA member but will be taking my business elsewhere next time.
