I got a chopped beef sandwich, which used to be filled to bursting with meat. Now, it had less meat than a White Castle slider. It looked like someone thought it was a condiment when they applied it. I also had the buffalo chicken fries. These were still pretty good. I can tell that the chicken is cheaper and the cheese is lower quality, but I don't feel cheated like with the sandwich. If this trend continues, I see them out of business before too much longer. You can't charge premium prices for dollar store food. At this time, I would avoid eating here. The convenience store and gas station I don't have anything to say about, as I have not been in there for a while. The food I got today was delivered.

Short version: Stopped here when falling asleep on the way to Dallas. Long version: The last time I stopped here was after a very very long drive from Kansas City to Dallas when I was already half asleep. I was literally falling asleep on the road and it was very dangerous so I pulled in here and had a nap. What a lovely nap it was. I was a little freaked out because I was way too tired to be driving, but this nap sorted me right out. Nothing bad happened, and I got some gas afterwards which was nice. Then I went to pick up the Goddess from the Dallas bus station. She should not be riding the bus. I'm aware of this. But when it's the only way to get a porn star to you (she doesn't drive unless I drive her), you do it. Am I right. Anyway it's a good gas station and fuel was priced about average. It's a little remote and scary in the middle of the night though. Definitely 5 stars because I have good memories of it from several stops here now.

The place is kinda dingy and the womans bathroom was disguising. There were paper towels all over the floor and the trashcan was overflowed. Someone let their little boy come in and pee all over the toilet seat. Or maybe they just hovered. Either way, it's disgusting, clean up after yourself! The employees need to do better about keeping this place clean. They have individual pizzas and a case with fried chicken and sides by the register. Somehow we missed these options and went to the grill area in the back. I ordered the grilled onion burger and tots and the hubs ordered the chicken fried steak burger with extra mayo and waffle fries. My burger was pretty good and had a good flavor, very juicy. The patty, you could tell, was hand formed, and it was missing a small chunk. The bun was way too big for the burger so I discarded a good portion of it. Lots of cheese and not many grilled onions. Tots were good and crispy. Hubby's order had regular fries instead of waffle and 1 small dab of mayo on the top bun and 1 small dab of mayo on the bottom. Ok then. Overall, it wasn't the worst meal I've had, but it was far from the best. I may stop in here again if nothing else is open, but I wouldn't seek it out.

TJs also has a menu offering a variety of options like different types of burgers (bacon, Swiss, patty melt, etc), hot sandwiches, a variety of cold sandwiches, and sides like tots or fries. I've before had a couple burgers and they've all been good, it's just this is my go to place for fried bologna sandwiches. The store has lots of drinks, chips, snacks, and hotbox items to choose from to accompany a meal. The ladies behind the kitchen counter are always accommodating and friendly, and they're quick to get the order made and served to the table if eating in. There's half a dozen tables near the cashiers counter that will seat up to 6-8 each. The tables are near windows so you can sit and watch outside too. It's busy, and there's most usually lots of people going in and out, getting fuel or bait. Stop for whatever is needed but if you desire a meal they certainly have worthwhile sandwiches.

The pump handles, even the Diesel, were clean. Inside, in addition to being too being clean, it was orderly. There is also a McDonald's. The staff professional, but not particularly engaging.
