A little over a year ago, I sadly ordered a pair of 4X pajama jeans on the net and then realized they don't make 5x and it was past time to do something. I set out without any direction and lost about 20 lbs on my own (basically just starving myself) and then stalled out and was unable to go any farther. I then heard about Skye and I made an appointment and while I was scared to death, nervous and even a bit skeptical, I set out on a journey in February 2018 that to date (9 mos) has resulted in a loss of over another 50 lbs. (some people loose much faster, but I have done this at my own speed and comfort level) I still want to loose another 50 lbs. At my age I want to be at a lesser weight than I was when I was young. As I am old and not active I want less stress on my bones and joints. I did not set out on this journey to be a model or beautiful. I want to be healthy and live longer. I was in Dillards yesterday in search for Potpourri. I haven't done much clothes shopping as I don't want to spend a lot of money on clothes until I am done. I saw a Levi's display and thought to myself, "Self, you need a motivational pair of jeans" I went to the women's section to buy a pair of jeans that were too small. Since the last jeans I bought were some (ugh) 2x pajama jeans I thought, 20w should be about right. Went into the dressing room and was a bit tickled that they were way too big. Deciding that I was going to enjoy this, I went back and got some 18s. Again too big so went and grabbed some 16s. Too big. I looked at the sales lady and asked "where do I go from here?" She took me over to the "normal people" levis and handed me some 14s. (or 32 x 32 sizing of Levis like they are supposed to be sized) and also handed me some 12s (or 31 x 32) I tried on both. The 14s were comfortable and the 12s were tight. I bought both. One because I decided that not only did I need incentive jeans, I was ok to get celebratory jeans I can wear the 31 x 32. I want the 32 x 32 because I never thought I would again see a day that a size 14 would be my "fat" jeans. Do you have any idea how long it has been that I bought jeans where the length is bigger than the waist size? OMG!! I still have a ways to go on my journey, but with huge triumphs like this and with the always friendly and caring people at Skye, I know I will get there and I do not care how long it takes. If you have been putting something like this off, just go for it. If you are concerned about the cost, in the long run, I save money when I compare the cost of the junk food I used to buy vs the monthly office visit and the daily protein bar snacks. (I love the chocolate bars)

The gym is not huge, does not have any true machines, its not super flashy, its not luxurious....and I like that! This is a performance training gym for serious people beginner to advanced athlete alike. The owners, the trainer, and the equipment are there for a reason...to get people results fast and safe. Free weights and a few select plate-loaded items and cable-based items can be found here which has been the bread and butter of any good fitness training plan for eons. They also have platforms, squat racks, rigs, sandbags, bands, sleds, kettlebells, alternative bars, and more. All the essential items you need for any sport or fitness goal that demands being strong, powerful, and fit! They now have an adjacent room decked out with some cardio items like 2 echo bike ergometers, a rower, and stairmaster. They also have jump ropes and kettlebells in this space as well for one wicked good circuit of cardio for those who may need/want that also. As a 15-year strength coach myself and powerlifter of 8 years now, I can say 100% that Juan and Amanda know their stuff inside and out and practice what they preach. They do not waver with trends and fads, they do not do cookie-cutter plans, they do not cut corners period. They use evidence-based principles and build plans around people's unique needs and behaviors. Their clients and members are proof that what they do works over and over again. Their rates are amazing and even better for military members and first responders. Something is available for everyone here I assure you. Go in and take a look, they place, the people, the hours, the rates, sell themselves if you ask me. The one and only small catch with this gym is the lack of showers onsite. Its a converted gas station/car repair shop so I doubt such things were ever installed or available to begin with. Not much one can do about that.
