Then the next day they cleaned everything up and it looks like no one was here. Grass looks great still. The scope of the work included the removal of the existing concrete drive and replacement with 4"…read morenew concrete. Work was completed in June of 2021. In September 2021, before the first freeze, I filled all of the control joints with a high quality polyurethane sealant (caulk). This was done at the first signs of cracks appearing in the joints. In early October 2022, one section of the drive separated at the control joint and broke away from the drive. Contractor placed the blame on Indiana weather with freezing and contracting causing the damage. This was only after 16 months and exposure to one winter season. Since the sealant should have prevented any moisture into the cracks of the joints, freezing should not have made an impact to the structural integrity. Concrete work is only guaranteed for 12 months. Conclusion: Poor workmanship and/or materials was the likely cause of the problem. I will need to engage a more qualified contractor to repair the current damage. I would not recommend this contractor.
