It was a really fun and calming place to get ready for such an exciting day.  My decision was based on past experience, services they offer, fair pricing, convenience, quality of work, and I am close friends with the owner, Sara.  She and I worked together at my updo trial, as well as the day-of, to create just the look I wanted for my winter wedding. Sara catered to exactly what we all needed as well...She was overly accommodating and went above and beyond to create a fun, relaxed, and enjoyable environment for all of us to get ready that morning. She completed updos and formal styling on myself (bride), my mother, my grandmother, 3 bridesmaids, 2 flower girls, and a friend of mine who attended the wedding as a guest.  Everything ran smoothly and we were on time for our limo to pick us up. I rate SM Hair Studio 10 out of 10!

My visit to Tonic was a truly refreshing break from the hectic realities of life to thanks to their upbeat, welcoming environment with a very genuine and engaging stylist (who heard exactly what I wanted and delivered it!). It is clear that Allison seems takes great pride in her work and emulates a strong confidence in her approach (seems well deserved!). Equally skilled and engaging, Allison was a true pleasure to spend time with and be styled by. I hope the very best for her in the year ahead. Another facet of this visit that stood out to me was the very clear affinity the stylists seem to have for one another with frequent shared laughs and dialogue. She ended with my feet, which are usually pretty ticklish, but again, knew exactly how to massage them and use pressure points so that I enjoyed it, rather than flinched! My hair went from a monochromatic, drab brown to this beautiful tonal range of chestnut and caramel. She knew exactly what was going to work for not only my face shape, color, etc. but my personality and maintenance routine. She gave my hair the effect of living for 5 years in sunny Southern California in only 4 hours. I brought my aunt with me for moral support, and my aunt ended up getting her hair colored and a cut, per Katie's recommendation. She looks better than ever! I made an appointment for my birthday and she cancelled it. I made another appointment and she texted me to change the time. I should have seen these as red flags. After the service was completed, I bought the lash bond strengthener she sold me ($20) and set my appointment for 3 weeks later. The lashes had all fallen out within a little over a week. This was because instead of using single or double lashes, she glued clumps of TEN lashes to my lashes. No wonder they all fell out! Trust that she does this only so she can put on lashes quickly and book more clients. When I contacted her to get a refund on the fill, since I didn't have any left, she blamed me for waiting too long to tell her. The service was on 3/15 and they all fell out by 3/25. I told her a week later because I had to go out of town. In my opinion, that is not too long to wait to tell someone. Plus, they all fell off at once so I wouldn't have been able to get a fill at any point. I wasn't even asking for a full refund. I wanted a refund for the service she wouldn't perform. Overall, she had poor customer service skills, was not professional, and performed a service very poorly. I know she's new at this location and it seems like she job jumps quickly. I would recommend that you not give her business.

I had my hair done on Saturday June 27, 2020 by Stephanie Bowers. And let's just say the lack of knowledge and professionalism is off the charts. She destroyed my hair, I have orange rings in my hair as well as dark spots where no bleach was even used it looks horrific. At one point she even turned my hair blue and then when I requested a refund for the terrible job she did on my hair she blamed me and said she used her time (which might I add would t have been as long if she wouldn't have turned my hair blue and had to re bleach it.) She complains about her life the whole time she does your hair and when you ask for a refund for your hair she accuses you of threatening her, attacking her, and calling her names. She hung up on me three times today two of the times she called me. I tried to remain calm and was willing to accept less then what I paid for services and she refused to compensate me at all for "all the time she spent" or maybe all the product she used that's what she said earlier in the day. But anyway go there for any service offered by anyone but Stephanie photos below of what I have to walk around with until I get my money the legal way. I Do not recommend Stephanie for any service. There is no excuse for not taking accountability for messing up someone's hair, and rectifying the situation like an adult.
