THE STORY This escape room is based on the Luftwaffe attack on Britain back on August 18th, 1940. We are the only survivors of the first wave of the bombing and we must strategize how to mobilize our full force of RAF to save London and successful bomb the enemies. We have an hour before they will attack again! HIT THE BULLSEYE -All the puzzles were unique in this room. They were all relevant to the storyline and very entertaining to solve. -The entire room was not linear so our group each had our glory moment to be proud of for solving a different puzzle. The great thing was that we still had a chance to come together for the end. -The "centerpiece" of the room was an impressive design. -The urgency was felt as game progressed, much like the story line. -Great mixture of combo locks and tech (only used at places that made sense). -Unusual way of "winning" the game. -Props used were all related to the timeline of the story. -Love the flow and the "flow tracking device". MISSED THE MARK -The hint system could be a bit off due the various number of puzzles being solved by different players at the same time. The game master's camera may not be able to clearly see the status of all the puzzle solving at one time. Maybe create a laser pointer that can be controlled from the control room to point to the puzzle that's being hinted on. -If only a bit more of a "wow" element could be added to the ending, this would have had a perfect finish! TAKE A SHOT? This is a great game to demonstrate that a room does not have to have an insane amount of tech or crazy movie set like set designs in order to be an awesome escape room. We felt immersed in the storyline and puzzles that none of the "fancy" additions mattered. If you love a challenge with tons of puzzles and want to test how you can work alone and/or with a team, you'll truly enjoy this room.

So you may by now experienced one or two at least escape rooms as these within the last few years…read morehas been popping all over the town. So how does one stand out from another? This is the question I keep asking myself and I guess I will only find out by testing as many of them as I can. Gladly of course. Myself and a couple of friends Bianca and Jamie (a few pulled out last minute) tried out Escape Plan's room. The room is based in the barracks of a P.O.W camp and you and your comrades (lets get into character here) have 60 minutes to escape! The story starts when you enter the room and you find out that only one person has ever escape, Bob Hails and to help you, he has written a journal which you find.  Once inside the room, you are faced with riddles, locks and puzzles which you have to solve. The one thing I like about this room is that each clue is linked to a particular lock, so this means that there can be lots of people to solve different parts of the clues within the room. As a three person group we felt there was more than enough things to keep us challenged. The game master is always watching as he tells you before you enter and will always help you out if he feels that you are struggling. I also love that every prop they have inside the room are real artefacts from the 1940 so please handle with care... apparently someone has dropped a real grenade once and I don't know why anyone would think of dropping that! The one thing which I think is very important to mention is that this room is very accessible to those with mobility issues, theres a lift to the room as well as enough space for a wheelchair to manoeuvre so definitely a plus in my books. I think as a group of three we was all challenged to partake in every part of the game and we escaped with just over 14 minutes to spare, I think the different level of experienced we had really helped and working together is very important. I think no more that 4 people would be a reasonable number to play this room without over filing with players. I visited this room with LovePopUp London and while the experience was kindly gifted to us by Escape Planall my reviews are my own and I would definitely rate this room a 4* out of 5. I really enjoyed the different clues and also the final puzzle was definitely one to experience!

The prices are reasonable and they offer a loyalty card which after a certain number of stamps you receive freebies such as coffee which always helps. Prices for entry is quite steep as you have to pay for the child and adult but I found the annual or monthly membership well worth the money which you easily recoup after a couple of visits, each child membership you can have two adults assigned. The play areas include a separate area for under fives which within has a soft toddler area. The under fives play area is mainly wooden but it also includes two soft play areas, a visual/sensory soft play area and am interactive game section. Plenty to keep the little ones entertained. The main play area for 5 year olds and over is a massive climbing frame from floor to ceiling which includes a long slide and lots of different areas for hide and seek games! Surrounding the main frame is a climbing wall, bumper cars and a virtual game area. The cafe provides hot/cold food, hot/cold drinks, ice cream and snacks and the food is nice considering it's an afterthought. There's plenty of seating/space, toilets, lockers and free wi-fi. Would highly recommend a visit if you have children especially for colder months when parks are not always an option.

This was my first time taking part in anything like VR & I loved it! It was like stepping into a…read morenew universe! We tried 3 different "games", first we were transported into a different world and walked around in the magical place to get our VR legs. The graphics were amazing, I felt like I'd jumped into the TV! The venue has a huge free roam space so there is plenty of room for you and your group to explore the way of the land! After this, we went to play arcade style games, where we had hand controllers and you had to score points by playing the game on the screen. I was rubbish at this, so it didn't hold my attention long as I sulked! Another arcade style game they had was where you were on a check out and had to try and pick up guns and particular items to score points. Finally, my favourite game of the night was the Zombie Survival, where we were kitted up with our VR headsets and outfits and given our "guns" to hunt down some zombies. It is mad how realistic it is! You literally feel like you're in a computer game! You can change your weapon and score points when you shoot the zombies. Everyone's hits are scored and you can see them at the front after you've played to see which person in your group shot the most hits. It was brilliant! I had so much fun! There is so much space to move around, it is incredible. All the staff are really friendly and you get a full briefing before every game so you know how it all works. It isn't just for gamers either. Anyone with a competitive streak will enjoy it! Males and females alike. It is great to do with a group of friends for a hen/stag party or for a birthday or work do. I would definitely return! I honestly didn't even know this sort of thing existed in London! It is now something else new that I can say I've tried!

I love go karting…read more Daytona circuit is adjacent to Sandown Park race course. I've driven here as part of a large party from the hospital where I work. I think go karting events probably work best if you can get a group together and get some exclusive race time. Firstly, the worst part - finding a pair of race overalls which aren't too dirty/smelly/sweaty followed by an appropriately sized helmet. Once you put the snug racing helmet on, you can feel those competitive driving juices start to rise! The circuit marshals are very strict on safely and there's an important safety briefing beforehand to go over the kart controls and flags used on the circuit. We raced on the shorter 475m Indy circuit, which still featured 5 tight turns and several short straights, allowing quite a few overtaking opportunities. We were on 2 stroke karts, which could still work up quite a speed and being close to the ground in karting, you get a real sensation of speed. The steering was finely tuned, allowing a surprising amount of control on precise placement of your kart for those crucial overtaking manoeuvres. Another great sensation was the ability to powerslide round corners We each had 5 preliminary races with different starting positions on the grids, earning points towards the grand final. It was fantastic fun with some amazing overtaking, defending positions and some spins but most importantly having fun safely. Timing was done automatically and you could go and collect the telemetry on your driving efforts and some advice from the course marshals on how to better your time. All in all, a great evening's entertainment. Hmm... perfect for a Yelp event? However, the most important bit of advice was right at the end of the session when the marshals advised us to sit in our cars for a few minutes before driving off so that we could get our civilian driving brains back into gear before leaving

We arrived early with an hour to spare, registered on the computer (did I want my results posted on facebook? - no thanks!), and signed in with the reception staff. With time to kill, my friend and I shared a surprisingly good pepperoni pizza and sized up the competition...uuummm, there seems to be a lots of guys here! We were planning to watch the other racers but just as we got there the heavens opened, the nerves increased as we watched the karts sliding around on the track, the drivers struggling to control them. When our allocated time slot arrived we got kitted up in our racing gear and went for our DVD briefing, presented by ex-racing driver Martin Brundel. It was time to race and luckily the rain had eased and the sun had come out to dry up the track. There were 12 of us in our group, the majority of which were young competitive lads, this could be very interesting! My friend had decided to book us DMAX karts, the most expensive and quickest karts available. In hindsight, probably not worth it for someone like me as I never actually got my foot to the floor. We had half an hour out on the track and as expected I came 12th (sounds better than last!) and was lapped by everyone including my friend. But none the less I did have a great time. It was a little scary at times when the boys shot past me and it didn't turn out to be the non-contact sport that was described in the brief!! My arms very so painful by the end of the race (no power steering on those carts) and are still stiff two days later. I would definitely go again but would maybe try and get a big group of friends together and perhaps stick with the slightly less powerful karts!

Everyone seems to know each other here, and are very friendly. Although The Pavilion is not quite as flash as other mega gyms like Virgin Active, it has a big gym, with 4 TVs along the wall, playing MTV and sports channels. Most popular are the group fitness classes. At the moment, the busiest ones are body pump and body combat, which I have tried a couple of times and realised that I am no where near as strong as I thought. Mostly I come here to jump into the hot tub and then the steam room for a gossip with friends. If I am feeling particularly active I might go for a swim first in their big pool, but that is not always a given. There are plenty of special offers that they do for memberships, including a frequent three week trial membership for £39.00. If you want to check it out, and know someone who goes there - tag along with them and get them to use the guest passes that they get issued.

While they were waiting…read morethey had glitter tattoos and face paints to keep them occupied there was a bouncy castle and at the end they were given a driving licence each which the kids went nuts over, a medal and a really lovely certificate with their names on. All the staff were very friendly and organised the children well. We held it in Parliament Hill School Camden which had free parking and had a relaxed atmosphere. Claudio was amazing with kids. I would deffinately recomend having a party with him. He gave my boy a gorgeous trophy with his name engraved on it and Jack had a lap of honour. Jack said it was the best party he's ever had. He sleeps with his trophy next to his lamp. Hes very proud of it.

My friends and I were looking to kill some time after a work meeting and came across this place and…read moredecided to check it out. It had some crazy holes that involved some trick shots but it was a lot of fun. You can keep score between your team between the golf, arcade games, Jenga, and air hockey and at the end the winner gets to spin a wheel and win a prize. I thought that was fun. The drinks they made were pretty good, too. It was definitely a fun way to spend the evening and I could see myself going back if I was in town.

When you come in they have a board of the team that has completed the course with the best score so that was a fun added challenge. They also have an arcade but it was underwhelming as half of the games were out of order :( which is why I gave it 3-stars. Another great thing about this place is the location. It is right next to Borough Market and Southbank. So we went for drinks afterwards. I think it's a great activity and change of pace for a day out with friends.
