It was charging five dollars a month.. Those five dollars fees were returned by my bank and when I looked at the statements were charging me (2) $36 overdraft fee for each one. They show you how insensitive they are the receptionist Jessica told me proudly what they were declined. Don't even give a damn about my situation and I'm standing there with two rods in my back limp in there. I had to come back the following week so that the $15 were clear so I can use the gym so I want the whole month of June when I should be in their rehab clearing up this BS they disrespectful they don't care EOS they sucks. I hope they go out of business To make a long story short, I put my account on hold for three months back in February with EOS. I was unaware it was charging me $5 dollars a month. They didn't tell me that while I was in recovery. I was unaware of $15. I paid the $15 10!days ago thinking that everything was OK. But for whatever reason they come up with these charges, they came out to $49.99 with the $15 total $65!! EOS is giving me a credit for $25. I needed the refund money.

I joined Mountainside Fitness excited by the story. Friendly staff. Smiles. Free towels. Community…read morefirst. That story falls apart fast. I hopped on a Precor treadmill and tried to connect my iPhone. No luck. I asked staff on the floor if there was an app. No one knew. I went home and did a quick Google search. Precor uses the Preva app. Downloaded it. The app immediately asked for a club code. I called the Chandler location. Spoke with two people. Neither knew what I was talking about. I called two other locations. Same result. I finally spoke with an assistant manager. They checked with the general manager. Still no answer. Not a single person knew that Precor even has its own app. That alone was surprising. What happened next was worse. The assistant manager told me to call corporate. I did. The person who answered had clear attitude, no answers, and no idea who could help. I was then given the phone number for a local Precor sales rep. That is not a support experience. That is a handoff. I am writing this from two perspectives. 1) As a club member, this was frustrating and disappointing. 2)As a business consultant, this is exactly the kind of frontline failure I would escalate to ownership. You promote premium equipment, but your staff is not trained on basic features members actually use. You promote friendliness, but the experience felt indifferent, plus corporate attitude. You promote community, but new members are left to figure things out on their own. Mountainside Fitness started with smiles and towels. Somewhere along the way, the smiles stopped meaning much. (P.S. gave two stars because the physical gym is nice, equipment is good. But then again, that is the entry level expectation that every decent gym has. Customer service is the differentiator)

The staff (August & Sam) are great, friendly, and provide very personalized attention to see how you are doing and progressing. The availability of different workout programs is amazing, given whatever age, fitness level or fitness goals you have, they have a program for you. The fitness results speak for themselves if you follow the program. If you want to get back in shape and go to a real gym that's very friendly with staff that supports you and your fitness goals, then no need to look anywhere else.

August, the owner of East Valley Strength, responded within minutes. We texted back and forth, and he answered all my questions. His gym offered the best class schedule, equipment selection, and hours based on my schedule. While in Chandler, I visited East Valley Strength on four different days and participated in their Crossfit and Powerbuilding programs. August and his coaching staff are incredibly knowledgeable and personable. Not to mention, I only paid $50 for unlimited access for the week. The following is a review of my overall experience. East Valley Strength blends the best of both worlds regarding strength training and endurance. With a dual focus on CrossFit and Powerlifting, this gym offers a well-rounded approach to building strength, endurance, and overall fitness. Whether you're a seasoned athlete or someone just starting out, the training here can be tailored to your individual needs and goals. Facilities: The gym is spacious, clean, and well-equipped. There's a dedicated area for CrossFit-style WODs with plenty of rigs, kettlebells, and bumper plates. At the same time, the powerlifting side has all the equipment you'd expect--multiple squat racks, bench press stations, deadlift platforms, and specialty bars. The open layout makes it easy to move between stations, and the high ceilings give the space an airy, non-cluttered feel. The gym is well-maintained, and August has gone above and beyond when selecting weightlifting machines for the gym. Many of the old-school machines we love and miss at other gyms are here and in excellent condition. Coaching: The coaches at East Valley Strength are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. They strike a great balance between pushing you to lift heavy and maintaining good form. Whether you're working on your deadlift technique, perfecting a clean and jerk, or dialing in your squats, there's always a coach nearby offering guidance, feedback, and motivation. They take the time to get to know your strengths, weaknesses, and goals, which makes a big difference in your progress. Programming: The programming here is superb, August is a master at mixing functional fitness (CrossFit) with pure strength training (powerlifting) in a way that complements each other. CrossFit classes are varied and dynamic, ensuring you don't get bored with the same routine. At the same time, powerlifting sessions are focused and structured to help you safely and effectively increase your max lifts. There's a clear emphasis on improving foundational movement patterns, mobility, and conditioning, and the programs are scaled to accommodate any fitness level. Community: One of the standout features of East Valley Strength is the community. It's a supportive and inclusive atmosphere where people genuinely cheer each other on, no matter their experience level. The blend of CrossFit and powerlifting means you get to interact with a wide variety of athletes, from those focused on Olympic lifts to those grinding out PRs on their squats and deadlifts. The community is tight-knit, and there's a real sense of camaraderie that makes showing up for each session feel like a team effort. Overall Experience: Whether you're looking to improve your overall fitness, crush a personal record in the gym, or just enjoy a challenging and motivating environment, East Valley Strength delivers on all fronts. The focus on both CrossFit and powerlifting provides an ideal balance of strength, conditioning, and technique training. With top-tier equipment, knowledgeable coaching, and a welcoming community, this gym truly has something for everyone. I highly recommend East Valley Strength to anyone serious about strength training or looking to level up their fitness!
