The coaches never hang up on the minor details (eg. when I already have unlimited membership, I keep forgetting to sign up and they just always smile about it, and punch me into the system, this wasn't the case with every gym). When I'm late to the class and I can safely join the workout I've just alway welcomed to join in. This place makes the barrier to entry into your workout a breeze. I've tried CF gyms all across the US and EU and 90% of the time I had a positive experience in all of them, but Felix tops it all! And the best part whenever I come back to Felix, I can alway get my original rates back.

Jonathan knows when to push me to add more weight and when to leave me alone if I am hungover and just want to survive the workout :) I love that they have additional events like hikes and holiday grill outs. Seattle, WA OT rate is at a Tier 5. Therefore, I had to pay a surcharge of about $11 to attend the class. If you're from out of town, I recommend getting there 15-20 minutes early to iron all this out, get a heart rate monitor, and just general setup. The studio was about a mile from my hotel, so I just decided to get steps in and walk over. The area isn't too bad. I think I only saw one, non- threatening homeless person on my way over. It was nice to see green "safety ambassadors" on bikes as an extra set of eyes. The gym equipment was kind of old. The treadmill is definitely the older version of the one that I currently have in my studio. The weights seem newer. Coach Suz was ok and tried to keep the energy up. Overall, a pretty good experience.

My friend was sooooo embarrassed for me especially her paying a paying member and had to apologize on their behalf. Please train your staff to be polite. No need for the theatrics, they treated me like I was a criminal.

When I went to cancel, I discovered they require what amounts to nearly 60 days notice, meaning I'm forced to pay for two more months of a service I no longer want at a price I never agreed to. If you're going to impose strict cancellation policies on members, the least you can do is give them the same courtesy of notice when raising prices. Poor form.

They have so much experience and advice across a wide variety of movements, everything from Olympic lifting to gymnastics. The equipment, setup & environment is top notch. Getting access to the wider gym and its facilities while getting to do crossfit is a big upside and is very different from other gyms I've been to. To top it all of, unlike a lot of other crossfit gyms everyone is warm, fun and wants training to be a good time!! I'm so sad to have to say goodbye to these guys and the team at Virj. They are not pushing you to lift more than you are comfortable lifting, or more than you can lift with proper technique. They make sure that you're doing the workout safely so that you can come back tomorrow. The workouts are well thought-out and varied throughout the week. No muscle group gets ignored. That particular muscle group that you hate working on because it's your weakness? It gets taken care of. All workouts are presented in a tiered format so that members of all fitness levels and abilities have something to do. Exercises can be modified to help you improve. Struggling with pull-ups? They have bands to help you develop a base level of strength. The facilities are top-notch. Zum, the gym in which Virj is located, has a huge locker room with lots of showers. I've never had to wait to shower after class. And - everything is CLEAN. Lastly, the vibe of the class is great. This is a CrossFit gym full of folks who are interested in getting in shape and improving. It's not full of a bunch of grunting dudes trying to compete in the CrossFit games. I highly recommend it.

In a sweaty gym environment, I find this unhygienic and uncomfortable, as it creates unnecessary skin-to-skin contact and opportunities for germs to spread. I understand the intention is to foster a friendly atmosphere, but I respectfully ask instructors not to encourage physical contact between members. Some of us come to exercise, not interact physically with strangers, and would prefer this remain optional.

My first encounter with SSP was a Saturday morning Metabolic Conditioning class. For someone who doesn't really know her way around weights & equipment and was def more out of shape than the other folks there, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Everyone was SO friendly and made me feel like I was joining a community as soon as I walked through the door. Throughout the entire hour, Ro led our class of about 10-15 people through a series of high-intensity interval training workouts and made sure we were all appropriately pushed to our limits. Every exercise was super form-focused and accessible to different skill levels and abilities. I may have felt like I needed to vom and/or pass out a couple of times but, more than anything, I was v proud of myself for challenging my body. Since that class, I have returned and worked out with a number of the other trainers (Meg, Ana, and Jay) who are all equally attentive, encouraging, and just the best. The exercises they prepare are always tough, fun, and never the same. I never thought I'd be one to use kettlebells, TRX, and battle ropes but here I am, getting a little stronger every time I go to SSP. I often think about how miserable I was with my virtually nonexistent exercise routine about a year ago and am so glad that I found this gym. The folks here are low-pressure but seem to adapt to what you want and what goals you are looking to achieve. I see all types and ages here. Each session burns 2-3 times the calories I would on my own, and the combination of coaching and camaraderie has been incredibly motivating. The coaches and peers push me to achieve far more than I could on my own. The coaching here has been terrific. If you stick to a consistent schedule, you usually get the same coach, which is great--they get to know your strengths, weaknesses, and quirks, tailoring their guidance to help you grow.
