My son is set to start first grade so I wanted to move before the school year began. That gave us only a few months to decide if we were going to buy or rent, find a place, secure it, get packed from our 4 bedroom house, leave Skokie, IL and get there by August 1st. A family member had a Realtor who lived nearby and was very successful. Since I have never lived in Miami, I couldn't commit to buying a house there without knowing the neighborhoods or school districts. So we decided to fly to Miami and check out some rentals. After returning to Chicagoland, we felt our Realtor was not being proactive or working hard to help us get what we wanted. The stress started mounting as more time passed. I couldn't pack my house not having a place to go! It felt like our Realtor wasn't engaged and our frustrations grew. As weeks went by, we found out the offer wasn't accepted. He " took me by the hand" to direct me how to open the owner portal that I couldn't get it to open with many times of changing password etc, and he had so much patience and kindness that I was impressed! When he came to my condo, he asked me if I need any thing else before he left, and that was very thoughtful of him to even ask. I had a serious issue with water intrusion from the upper unit that caused so much damages to my property including mold, that he was very transparent and offered his license contractor after 5 high estimates that I had, to fix the damages in very reasonable price. He came to check the results after he finished and made sure that it will be satisfactory. He shared his knowledge and guided me through the whole stressful process. Even on Saturday he picked up the phone and helped me with very delicate situation that I wasn't sure how to handle.
