Dr. Fadi A. El Atat and his wife Sara are both great. Issue is that the staff is incompetent.

He was the worst doctor ever. I waited an hour and then genuinely simply asked when I would be seen to the receptionist and she said incredibly nasty "in a minute". He then left the patient he was with and then was like "why are you talking to my staff". He came into my room and said that we are not getting off on the right foot and I'm being "feisty" and "fighting with him". ILITERALLY ASKED WHEN I WOULD BE SEEN!!!!! He then said that we can't get along and that me complaining wasn't going to work. He also asked if I was a new patient, meaning that he doesn't even know his patients. I genuinely think that he was antisemitic and didn't want to treat me from the start. Nonetheless, he's clearly sexist, unprofessional, and RUDE. I was a very uncomfortable environment. Dr El/Etat has been my Primary Care Physician and Cardio for about 3 years. My HBP has been controlled wi h medication. A couiple of weeks before Christmas I ended up in the ER after a chest x ray had positive findings. Dr Eletat came the hospital and performed 2 catheterizarions on 2 of my arteries. All 4 wereseverly blocked.? The Dr inserted 2 ballons giving my heart the blood supply I needed I was transferred there SBMC to s surgeon Dr ElEtat worked with.. Excellent doctor. Always prompt and efficient, and had my prescription refilled in a flash. He also helped me get started on cardiovascular care, which I didn't know I needed but am glad to be aware of. The office is very well run and professional. I am always in and out within a half hour. FOLLOW-UP: Within 10 minutes of me posting the below review on Google, Dr. Sarah Abdul Sater (Dr. Fadi El-Atat's wife and business partner) called to yell at and scold me for writing this very factual review. I can't believe that I had to write a review in order to speak with the doctor. I think my husband is more hurt by this than anything else. We have both been calling their office for over a week and even went in personally requesting that they re-submit the Prior Authorization since my prescription was denied as the denial letter states... "additional clinical information was needed from my doctor", which they haven't supplied. The front desk person we spoke with today (I believe it was the plus-sized Caucasian woman) said they have to wait 5 days to re-submit our Prior Authorization. We immediately called CVS Caremark to verify this and they said this was NOT TRUE in our case. They said the doctors office could call their Prior Authorization number anytime and complete the authorization over the phone. All of this could have been avoided if they cared enough to do their due diligence. Dr. Sarah Abdul Sater told me that we should find a new doctor (hilarious!). We already have appointments for a highly recommended (and highly reviewed) doctor with an excellent staff. We are looking forward to being treated like human beings. Side Note: Please don't be fooled by their almost 5 star Zocdoc reviews. I came across this in my online research... "Zocdoc seems to filter reviews to keep them mainly positive using several methods (incentivized via payments by providers), profanity is not allowed and will be removed, hints of misdiagnose will be removed, pricing specifications will be removed, accuracy of diagnosis may be removed, and treatment specifications may be removed, this is why you may notice if you search a provider you will find they have negative reviews across other sites and much higher rankings on Zocdoc". *** My Original Review for the office at 1945 Morris Ave, Union, NJ: The front office staff is HORRIBLE. They do not care about the patients. They almost always mess up when submitting information to the pharmacies and insurance companies. You have to go through an incredible amount of legwork and follow-up to get them to do their jobs correctly. They perpetually lie to your face and over the phone when you follow-up regarding incorrect prescription info and Prior Authorization submissions. The default lie is "I'll take care of it"... "We'll take care of it" and days will go by and nothing is done on their part. This has all become abundantly clear after speaking with my prescription company, CVS Caremark numerous times. Dr. Fadi El Atat's & Dr. Sarah Abdul Sater's staff are incompetent and untrustworthy. Once you get beyond the front desk, the service from the doctors is "conveyor belt" and impersonal in nature. The nastiest staff member is the plus-sized Caucasian woman who always sits by the sign-in sheet at the front desk. She is incredibly rude and incompetent. The only standout staff member is a lovely woman that wears a hijab. Unfortunately, I don't recall her name, but she is marvelous! They need to clone her. Probably one of the worst doctor office experiences I've had. I went in to be checked for a cold and breathing problems. They put me in a room with a PA who had me change in front of her with the door cracked open. Then she started to do EKG work and informed me I was at a cardiologist office but that he also practices internal medicine but that I needed to have this done. I waited an hour for her to get this done because the machine kept breaking and she didn't know how to fix it. Then the doctor came in and said I had an express experience since I was waiting for a while and that he would just listen to my lungs quick. He then said he thought I had bronchitis and he'd give me an inhaler from the office and continued to called me Sweetie. I was rushed out after having to take off the EKG stickers off myself. Absolutely zero beside manner. I get to the front desk and he called in 5 difference prescriptions but didn't explain anything so I asked to see the doctor again. Then when he came in he said there was no need for me to see him and that he gave me the prescriptions. Then he said I also may need a chest X-ray because I might have pneumonia which he never said before. He proceeded to call me sweetie again and ask me what explanation I needed. I said I had no idea what prescriptions and why. He rushed through it and then walked me back to the front to tell them to give me the chest x ray script. I understand he tried to be nice and give me a free inhaler but the over service was awful and rushed. Never going back. Update: it's been 6 days and they will not give me my chest X-ray or EKG results. I've called multiple times and left messages. This is truly the most unbelievable experience! read more

I would like to start by saying I have been a patient with Dr. El-atat for over 6 years prior to him taken over the pratice I was Dr Thomas patient for over 20 years. The treatment I received from Dr. El-atat today was very rude and disrespectful. I asked him how was Dr. Sader (they share the practice) doing and he responded " she does not work here anymore" I asked if she started her own practice. He responded you do know I trained her. I said ok. He then asked me to follow him and I did, thinking he was taking me to another examination room. I was totally shocked when he escorted me to the exit door and asked me to leave and find another doctor. I asked if I said something to affend him let me know, but this is not how you treat anyone. He replied " Dr Sader can be my daughter don't ever ask me about her again she's not your doctor I am and remember I trained her. I let him know he should be ashame of himself for speaking to me like this and also to speak so direspectfully about Dr. Sader (his wife) I also let him know I would not be returning to his office. You never refer to your wife as your child and you should go back to school and take a class on respect for all people.
