Run from this place!! Do not put your loved one here. I can't say enough bad about this place. Under staffed. The staff that is there are either poorly trained, burnt out or just don't care. They are certainly not adhering to any guidelines about patient to caregiver ratios. If there are laws that govern this, they surely are breaking them. My father in law not being changed for hours at a time. Not getting meds on time or not at all. Food you would not eat yourself is you were starving. Staff just lies about everything. They should be investigated and closed down! I only gave one star because you can't leave none. read more

if I could give this place no stars I would. place is disgusting. You're lucky if you can get housekeeping to clean rooms. My mom is still a patient there and after five months just got a shower. But wouldn't let me do it. I went on vacation when I came back Loretto took over as my mom's payee without notifying me or my mom . staff is lazy, on their phones, leaves mom in bathroom for 45 mins at a time before going in to assist. nursing staff makes threats that if my mom didn't start taking care of herself after using the bathroom, they would send her next-door to the nursing home! (Cunningham). Finance department are crooks! staff in that office are rude! Please Please if you can help it DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES THERE!!!! read more

Hmmm. I'm at Fahey, came for rehab last week - needing my second COVID booster which they said I would get. Nurse manager Anna Ruston is in charge of the shots and won't give me one, because she was out the day she could have given it. Makes no sense Bureaucrat b.s. read more

I had the misfortune of spending 4 miserable days in this facility in late Decemter. I arrived late in the day on a Friday. I came with a picc line and on 24 hour antibiotics. During my time there I was sick, started vomiting on the 4th day. Staff was uncaring, lacked compassion and acted like it was a imposition to help. During that time, with the way they moved me, they partially pulled my Picc line out and then tried to shove it back in, very dangerous. I met with PT on the weekend who told me I would only have 1 hour of PT the 1st day. On that Monday 2 NA's got me up, would not put my brace on in bed (doctors orders) saying they never do that. After much discussion they got me up - put me in a wheelchair where I remained for over 4 hours. I was begging them to put me back in bed because of pain. I was ignored and told it was good for me. I never got to PT and when my husband visited he was told by PT they were supposed to wheel me to the top of the stairs where someone would bring me down to PT. They never did that. The director did nothing for me. When my husband asked them to put me back in bed it took another half hour. Later that day a doctor visited, they took xrays and I had been vomiting. That night, at midnight they sent me out to the hospital saying I had a bowel obstruction. Got to Upstate and they determined it was gall bladder. They also had to do more xrays to check my Picc line. it was ok at that time but a few weeks later it had to be changed due to pulling out. I should add that the staff uses all of the handicap parking and parking close to the building keeping visitors from parking close. Also my husband saw an electrical cord running into my bathroom from next door - a tripping hazard. He also witnessed a resident who's underwear had fallen down while several staff members just watched her and laughed. This place may be equipped for take care of knee surgeries,etc, but I was more than they could handle. It's a shame how they treat people there. read more

I don't think any nursing home is ideal but I have had several encounters with this one . My mother has been in rehab for a month at this building . The first 9 days she fell 8 times!! On one occasion they actually wrote she stood up and fell while she was sitting in a reclining wheelchair . I found that hard to believe since she has left sided paralysis. When I complain they give her the medication a hour and 59 min late or omit it all together and say they gave it . They had no idea my mother could talk and was telling us . read more

Im sitting here with a friend in rehab.she pushed the call button at 7:47.its not ringing or making any kind of noise.it is now 8:05 still no one asking what is needed.what if she fell.light room next to her has been on longer.nurse just came in.others had walked by prior.i do not recommend fahey to anyone. read more

My mother is dying. We wanted hospice care for her but it was unavailable. Fahey apparently has a palliative care unit so we opted for that as there was a bed available and we were promised that Fahey would provide skilled nursing care for her in last days. What has been our experience so far? Missed nursing checks, medication errors, a lack of nursing understanding of morphine dose (we had to physically go to our mothers orders and point to the proper dose),and improper wound care. Multiple discussions and meetings has resulted in no change in nursing attention or behavior. My mother is dying and I wish we had never set foot in this place. read more

DONT SEND YOUR LOVE ONES HERE!!!! Our mom was there for less than a week! Mothers ring is stolen. Another ring stolen. Her wheelchair is missing. They called and said they found it, wife shows up to get it, missing again!! Claim they are not responsible for stolen rings!!! read more

The Fahey should be closed down by the Department of Health. Patient's dignity is given up here and no one seems to really care about the patients well being. I've seen so many laying/sitting in urine soaked linens or clothing. You can push the call button and wait an hour! Sometimes no one responds at all!! Many of these patients are helpless and family cannot be there 24/7! We rely on the staff to look after our loved ones and they certainly let us down! The floor reeks of urine. Meds are not delivered on time. No one assists or cares if patients eat or not. Maybe it's time to get the Board of Health involved for a shake up. read more

My mother just spent a few months at Loretto Fahey rehab. Our family is very pleased with the caring staff. Yes all places are short staffed but we found they did a good job with her care and were caring. We were so fortunate to have Jennifer Catalano as my mother's social work / case manager. She went above and beyond what she needed to do to help our family transition to the next step. She was there for us with many many phone calls, meetings, working above and beyond of what we ever experienced before at another Rehab a few yrs ago. read more

This place is a healthcare catastrophe. A relative of mine was moved there last Friday. He needs assistance getting to the bathroom. He has now had to get out of his bed and fallen down 4 times in 3 days. He relentlessly rings the attendant button and gets no response. My parents were there this weekend and walked to the nurses station, and said we need assistance for our son, and they waited 1 hour 30 minutes and no one helped. But wait it gets worse. You can't reach anyone at the facility. And they admit it! If you dial the main number, it places into into a queue where you can speak to a patient ( if they'd paid a daily fee for the phone), but you can't reach a nurse, an administrator, no one. It rings into a general mailbox, which no one pays attention to. I was told this by a facility employee. What kind of place is this? The patient was referred here by St. Joe's and both providers should be embarrassed. read more

Horrible neglect of dignity for one in therapy last night 6/ 27........therapy is teaching not neglect and collect your $$$$$. They should never think there patients have already been given how to and what to do in there unfortunate conditions. ....compassion and help learning how to care for themselves is why they are there.....not to be neglected read more

I had an unfortunate stay at this rehab. It was a nightmare, I'm not sure how they are able to stay in business. Response time to call buttons, horrible. I once went 12 1/2 hours without pain meds. Food was disgusting, cleanliness not great. I was sent by Upstate Community General, I'm not sure why. No one should be sent there until this place does what it is suppose to do. read more

Ive heard nothing good about this place from a love one noone answers the call buttons they sit an wait hours to go to toilet and to get something to drink sounds to me like they better hire enough staff to accommodate the amount of patients its supposed to be short term the way their taking care of patients their going to be next door long term maybe thats their plan dont take your family here do research before sounds more like a corporate ran facilities not a rehab the oh o mighty dollar more important then your loved ones. read more

My mother has been in Fahey for a week and several of the staff members, generally LPN's and CNA's are very nice... a few, need some SERIOUS attitude adjustments. I realize it is a stressful job, and sometimes you just need to vent. If that's the case, do it outside. Not ALL the residents are deaf. Neither are their visitors. Hearing some of the cruel things I heard about other people's parents made me sick. Meal time has got to be the most humiliating thing for these residents. Getting attitude when they ask for another cup of juice, or asking for he alternate meal ( you wouldn't have to go through all that if you'd asked them in the first place if they wanted whatever was first on the menu) Many of the staff members literally rolling their eyes at people thinking they can't see them, slamming down cups and plates, running their fingers through their own hair or adjusting their wig, or rubbing their nose ... all with bare hands... then picking up residents dishes with their whole palm over the dish. April, I believe her name was,(I could be wrong.. blonde CNA) had the WORST attitude when it came to meal time...every resident could hear her complaining... Stephanie wasn't much better. Where I come from, you just don't do that. Beyond that, Dr's set a schedule for certain medicines fora reason... so forgetting or getting off schedule by over an hour, is putting my mothers health at risk. Meanwhile, chatting in the hall way, with PLENTY of other things you can be doing... Nope. That doesn't fly with me. I can't WAIT to get my mother out of there. These folks are here for rehab, and physical assistance for whatever reason and they deserve compassion, to be treated with dignity and respect... they are NOT children. Stop treating them as if they are. read more
