So I went back to these guys cause they're basically the only game in town. I drove up with about…read morefive full 10g garbage bags. He takes my bags and starts to weigh them and then says, "Yeah you know I can't give you full price because you have other things in them so I'm just gonna have to give you only $.10 a pound as tin." I think he's joking, as in like the other stuff that's inside that will just be weighed as tin. One bag had a tiny wad of aluminum foil and another bag had some metal clothes pins that could be made of brass, who knows. Less than 2% of the bag was non-aluminum cans, and this yokel starts explaining to me this policy because apparently I'm too stupid to understand that this business is charging customers for their labor. Meanwhile, we're standing next to an 8 foot tall mound of aluminum cans. The place is an absolute muddy mess, with cans and materials strewn about everywhere at the drop off point and you're going to actually stand there and lecture me about how you're gonna screw me out of a couple of dollars because there's a couple of clothes pins in there and a ball of foil? Are you serious, bro? Arguing that it's going to cost the company money in labor to go through the bags when you would have to go through the bags anyway is just plain insulting. They would devalue my contribution five times over because of a foil ball lol and one bag had some leaves in it, "Oh no! We can't have that!" I told the man working there that it's not his fault. He's just carrying out the policy, he's not the bad guy, but his corporate overlords are complete idiots. This is not the way to treat customers. I packed up my cans and left. I will never return to do business here.
