Bathroom modern but lacking a bathtub.
    Mitch S.

Flight cancelled and stayed here overnight. Rooms were really clean, cozy and modern. Staff was extremely helpful and professional. Shuttle service quick for pickup although it was snowing. Had to pick the 445am shuttle back to airport since 0430am fully booked-it was a holiday though. Breakfast didn't start until 6 so missed this. Hopefully next time we can pre-order breakfast boxes for those who leave before 6am. Other than that, would definitely come back.

We enjoyed the pool when it was quiet. Later it was filled with screaming noisy kids. At least we know when to go to the pool next time!

It almost felt like a run down hotel using the likeness of a Holiday Inn Express. I am still in disbelief. The young man at check-in was the only good thing about our stay. Upon approaching our room, we were met by a pile of trash at the door. We knew immediately that we would be walking in to a dirty room. Lo and behold we entered and the floor was disgusting. It seemed as though the room hadn't been attended to in quite sometime. In an attempt to get assigned a clean room, I decided to go and make the front desk associate aware of our concern. The associate assigned us a new room, and we were hopeful that it would be much better than the first. As soon as we entered the newly assigned room it wreaked of mold and mildew. It was stuffy and very unpleasant. From the fourth floor to the second floor, this place was just a huge disappointment. I did not even bother to complain again, as I finally realized this place was just a run down establishment in dire need of an upgrade across the board. We were in town attending a funeral. With everything that we were going through, it was really unfortunate to have this experience during such a difficult time. If you are reading this review and debating about whether or not to book here, I would advise you to look elsewhere. Do your research and find a nice clean establishment to get your rest. You deserve better than this.

Due to the time of our stay (less than 24 hours,) I just dealt with it as we had plans that we needed to leave shortly after check-in, and we did not have time to deal with room switching - which I shouldn't have to do to provide a clean hotel room for me and my travel companions. I actually took antibacterial wipes and wiped down the counters and stove - which had visible grime I had use elbow grease to get off. Fridge and all hard furniture had hand prints and grease on them. The whole room smelled musty and old, carpeting entering the bathroom at the threshold was all ripped up and honestly a trip hazard. Tub was black stained on the bottom with pubic hair from the previous guest. Communal shower products were gross - not cleaned with the shower (which I doubt was cleaned ever.) Body wash was missing and broken. Shower head was caked on with shower grime and calcium deposits. Orange marks (neon paint??) were on the bathroom counter that came off with an anti bacterial wipe I had - same mark is on the shared space curtains. Bed was comfy but when we lifted up the mattress pad to check for bed bugs, both the mattress and the pad were visibly dirty and that was just a corner. There were black specs which I thought were bed bugs but after more inspection, it was dirt. A hole in our bedroom curtains, Small, but still. TVs look like they hadn't been dusted in a year. I wiped them down w a wipe but that didn't help - they really needed windex. No dish soap for the kitchen sink!!! And no sponge!! Never seen that with a kitchenette at a hotel - how do you expect us to wash dishes?? Which we didn't! Initally none of us could find trash cans for the bathrooms/bedrooms - I called down to the front desk and told them we didn't have any and needed some. They said they'd send some up. They never did - nor did they follow up about it. We later we found them hidden in cabinets under the sinks. I also have a pending credit card charge from them $30+ over what we owed. I have a final receipt showing less. No one said anything about any incidental hold or any other charges, so I don't know what that is about, but it's still pending. I will be doing a chargeback with my credit card if it posts to my account for the wrong amount. The halls were filthy, walls in the room as well dinged, marks, dirt etc. The elevator is so small you cannot fit more than one person (maybe two) and a luggage cart in there with you. I would NEVER EVER stay here again. Especially for the $400 price tag. Not only is this not up to par with Marriott hotels or any other Residence Inn I've stayed in, I think less quality hotels (Super 8, Microtel) would be cleaner to stay in. I will be leaving this review on Google, Yelp, and TripAdvisor as well. If you are reading this and you are management, and able to provide a refund, I am requesting a full refund for this stay. This was appalling. My reservation information so you can refund the proper account: Michelle Kaplan Confirmation #72363321 Folio #59048 Room #236 Amount: $393.58 (although it's currently pending on my credit card for $430.00)

I've stayed at the M Hotel for an entire year while working on the new Highmark Stadium…read more First off, let's be realistic: this is not a 5-star luxury hotel. It never claimed to be, and I never expected it to be. What I've noticed reading through some of these reviews is that a lot of them say more about the people writing them than they do about the hotel itself. Some people just look for reasons to be unhappy, and the smallest issue becomes a full-blown crisis because that's simply how they view everything. Now, is the hotel perfect? No. But what is? Sure, after living here this long, I could point out things like peeling paint in a tub or areas that need updating. But the hotel is aware of those things and has been actively working on maintenance and improvements. What matters most to me -- and what deserves real credit -- is the hospitality. The staff here, across the board, have been outstanding. Friendly, accommodating, welcoming, and genuinely good people. That's what makes a place worth coming back to, and in my book, the hospitality here is a 10/10. I've basically lived here for a year, and not once did I feel the need to go stay somewhere else. Same goes for the restaurant and bar -- I kept coming back because the people made it worth it. The bartenders, servers, and restaurant staff have all been top-notch, and after this much time, they honestly started to feel like family. Big shoutout to Kenji and Chad in the kitchen, and to Danielle, Mark, and Scott at the bar for always delivering great service. If you've had a rough day, go to Twigs Lounge. There's almost no chance you'll leave in a bad mood. Bottom line: if you travel for work, want a place with good people, and don't show up looking for reasons to complain, the M Hotel is one of the most down-to-earth places around. You'll be treated like family -- and to me, that matters a whole lot more than a chipped tub or a leaky faucet. We have since finished our work at the stadium, and now it's time for me to move on to the next big adventure. Because they made me feel so much like family, I'll tell you, it was a little difficult to leave and move on. But as they say... life goes on!!! Go Bills. Rob-

You can tell this hotel really had a heyday at some point and whoever owns it now is doing their best to keep it up. Our room had a little balcony to the pool area which is neat. The room was clean and comfortable which is what really matters, though there were some signs of wear and tear, especially in the bathroom. We slept well enough, though the pillows were a bit sparse, and we got a free breakfast in the morning which was, well, free! So, no complaints there. We did try to get some food in the hotel bar which was not a great experience, but at 10pm on a Monday night in the suburbs who can expect the best? The location is also pretty good, the mall is in the same parking lot, the airport is 5 minutes away and we made it to the heart of downtown in 15 minutes. For a quick stay it's all you need, safe, clean, quiet, etc. If you had kids, this place would be amazing, due to the excellent pool area and game room.

Plenty of towels. I genuinely feel bad for people coming here and not having a good stay or not liking their room. I know I'm going to sound elitist saying this, but out of my 60+ stays (44 confirmed check ins) through the years I've only had 2 "bad" stays. 1 was waiting until same day to book a spa suite so I just got what was left over from the more organized prebookers getting the nicer rooms first and the other was booking a queen spa with a big discount through priceline so I got put in an older smaller more worn down room which reflected the price I paid. The other 60ish times I booked days to weeks ahead of time, showed up exactly at check in time to get first dibs on nicer/newer rooms, and booked king spas. That's the formula to get the best experience that I LOVE! My only complaint is they got rid of complimentary breakfast and it's like $5 for just a microwave premade frozen breakfast sandwich and like $2 for a pre-made prepackaged donut. I think they should bring back something like fruit and flavored oatmeal packets for free by the complimentary coffee.
