The first part of the name is a great way to start this review. Our stay, the accommodations, the room, and complimentary breakfast were just that ... Fair. (See my photos for details.) Check in was smooth; desk clerk was polite. Room was dark and smaller than anticipated. Cleanliness was so-so....first thing I noticed was a bottle cap on the floor and water in one of the wasst cans (maybe from cleaning?) My pillows were uncomfortable; my companions were "just fine." HVAC wall control was black and inoperable. Adjustments were made by push buttons on wall/floor unit. HVAC fan was very noisy. Shower was fair - adequate - with very hot water but corroded/clogged shower head that squirted in various directions rather than straight out. No towel rack to dry towels overnight. So if you showered after a long trip and wanted to do so again in the morning before departure....call the desk (?). Nope will not book here again. PS Entire staff was polite and congenial and did a good job...but the building kinda let them down. read more

Stayed here for about a week for a work event and was not impressed. The hotel is not well kept, quite dirty and management isn't concerned about the complaints and issues. The hotel gym equipment was broken, which the staff was well aware of. I was told to go to their sister property at the Hampton to use their gym, which was indeed much nicer. The rooms were dingy and outdated. The door latch was very finicky, making the door close securely an issue and had to switch rooms because of it. Despite the less than stellar property and stay, the free breakfast and front desk staff were great. read more

Great stay; rented two rooms for a week while my family and I averted the storm. Joyce was extremely helpful in accommodating my family and I. I also found the extended staff pleasant and diligent in their duties around the hotel. The rooms were clean and modern at an affordable rate. I'm 12yr platinum with Marriot and can honestly say the service was A1. The breakfast could be better...but hard to complain when it's FREE. I mostly had coffee, hard-boiled eggs and cereal. Great stay after a long day of traveling. This morning Christie had coffee, hot water, and other breakfast items ready for early travelers at 5:30am. Hot breakfast time is 7am on Sunday. Solid hotel choice on I-85 just south of Montgomery. This Fairfield Inn seems to have been recently renovated (or well maintained since it's last renovation). Carpet and furnishings were in good shape, and the bathroom was spacious and well done. Service was pleasant enough, but there were gaps in coverage at the front desk where the staff seemed to be doing paperwork in the office. A quick "Hello? always seemed to get their attention though. I only had the breakfast one morning, but it seemed to be the standard options (including make your own waffles). WiFi is free and fast enough for FaceTime, but I didn't try any streaming video so I can't vouch for that. The only major drawback is the lack of restaurants in walking distance; you really only have fast food and Waffle House, otherwise you have to drive. Overall a much better stay than I'd expected, and I would definitely stay here again. read more

This is a very nice hotel, new building, nice grounds, really pleasant staff. If that were my only criteria, I'd give them a flat out give stars. BUT, I've taken back two stars, one for each of the points below. 1. Clean the breakfast area and tables routinely. I'd really rather not wipe up someone else's syrup, I'm funny that way. Maybe set an alarm, every 10 minutes, check the empty tables for syrup. Ding. Ding. Syrup check time. 2. One washer? One dryer? Really? For a hotel with hundreds of guests. In a remote area void of laundromats. Fairfield, we're on a first name basis right? You may think you're providing me with an opportunity to make friends while waiting in this chairless, postage stamp of a laundry room, but seriously think about the others. They don't want to be stuck in a laundry room with me. Seriously, Fairfield, have a heart. read more

New, clean, decent breakfast, friendly staff. What else do you want in a hotel along the highway? They have lime water in the lobby, which is a nice touch when you are parched after driving all day. Only downside was it is next to the airport, so when a plane does take off, it's super loud. However, it's Montgomery, Alabama, not La Guardia. Obviously not too much traffic. Would definitely recommend to anyone traveling thru AL. Family friendly. Oh, and I appreciate the ionic hairdryers in the rooms! read more

We were looking for a 4 star accommodations in Montgomery. We were unaware this is very hard to do!! Ultimately, we decided to stay at the new (4 year old Fairfield, based on reviews from Expedia and Priceline. Wow. We were pleasantly surprised. The staff was exceptionally friendly - my husband was checking his air pressure in the car tires and several staff made a point of asking if everything was ok and did he need help. The hotel was immaculate. Well appointed. Bright and well lit parking lot and hallways. Comfortable. Coffee and tea in the lobby, newspapers, places to sit and relax. Breakfast was typical. Bagels, Danish, waffles, eggs, sausage, cereal and fruit. Our room was clean and cozy. There was a microwave and refrigerator. The pillows were very plush and the bed comfy. What more could one ask for on a stopover to NoLa for $60 a night!!!! read more

This was my 2nd trip to this fairfield montgomery property. And it was once again above my needs and expectations. They treat me like a comedy celebrity. A great room a great property and modern and clean. The staff makes ya feel at home. The linens were fresh and luxurious and the shower delightful. Breakfast was scrumptious. Beautiful hotel located just south of the city. Easy access to I65 and 9 minute drive downtown. Staff was friendly and helpful!

This place rocks! I stayed there for one night and for a Fairfield it was great. The bed was outstanding and the shower was super. I'm really tall and it was tall enough for me!!! If you're short you may not like the shower as much. My room did not have a tub, no big deal for me but if you really want one you may want to call ahead and ask if they do have rooms with them. FREE breakfast too. It's not a design your own omelette but it was good. Eggs, cereal, rolls cereal etc.. plus coffee and juice. It's all serve yourself but good and hot. You can be done and on your way in 10-15 minutes. The only small thing is that if you're on the 1st or 2nd floor you will hear anyone walking in the room above you, so I'd ask for a room on the top floor. The pool looked really nice and the staff was as friendly and helpful as they can be. I needed directions to meet my friends for dinner and they went to mapquest and printed out my directions for me. Really good people, every time I asked for something they were right there to get whatever I needed. Not the Ritz, but for the price, if you're going to need a place near the airport.. stay here. It's about a 10minute drive to the airport and if you renta car, there are a couple of cheap gas stations right at the entrance to the highway (I-65) as you're leaving the hotel. It's about 10 minutes to downtown Montgomery, and if you're looking to go out to eat or looking for nightlife, you'll have that small drive... but it's not too far. I think I paid $84 for the night, and if you go through hotels.com or someone like that you can most likely get it cheaper. You'll be glad you tried it. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE. Do not stay here!! I was charged for "miscellaneous" on my bill after checking out. Manager accused my of damages I did not cause, I simply brought them to their attention upon checking out as I noticed them in the morning. There was a safety issue and didn't want them to put anyone else in the room, as I was sure they wouldn't want to do either. Instead of a call to ask about my stay, I was accused of causing the damage! DO NOT STAY HERE. - I know feel like I was set up, and placed in this room with intent to scam me. #Marriott needs to look into how they treat their customers at this location. read more

I was very pleased with the quality of the hotel. My pleasant experience began when after traveling all day, I approached a friendly front desk clerk who greeted me with my room keys almost as quickly as I entered the building. My room was a large suite complete with all of the comforts of home (honestly a bit better). My room was cleaned with painstaking effort, and the room was furnished in the most up to date electronics, decor and furniture. My bed was comfy and I had one of the best nights of sleep that I've had in awhile. I felt like Goldilocks in Mama Bear's bed, it was just right. The breakfast downstairs the next morning was above average huge selection of hot and cold breakfast items with plenty of seating. I'll definitely stay here my next time passing through Montgomery. read more

I spend at least two nights per week in hotels all over the US. This was one of my worst experiences ever. It took 30 minutes for the clerk to check me into my room, with only two people in front of me (after midnight). The clerk offered no apologies or explanations. The breakfast was below average, the tables had not been cleaned, and the amenities were not well stocked. The hotel is new but the service is non-existent. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. We stay here often when we visit family. The staff is friendly, rooms are clean, beds are comfortable. They serve a buffet style breakfast every morning. Cassandra checked us in tonight. The Fairfield Inn and Suites Montgomery Airport South was a great deal! Right off I-65, and down the block from some of the best barbecue I ever had (check out Southern Hospitality), this Fairfield Inn and Suites provided great amenities: A fitness center (did not use), complimentary hot breakfast (went back for seconds), and an indoor pool (just a quick dip). Sometime's airport hotels can be a little shady, but I felt very safe in the well lit parking lot and hotel. The staff was excellent and began rattling off things to do when we told them it was our first time this far south. A lovely experience overall. read more

This place did everything right. The service was above in beyond what is expected. The room was super clean and had plenty of space to stretch out. The work out room was clean and had plenty of towels and water. The equipment looked as if it had regular maintenance done to them. The breakfast they provide was great. The food did not look as it was sitting in pans for hours and the staff was on top of their breakfast game. The cookies and lemon/lime water at check in was a nice little bonus. read more
