As I have said in previous reviews of Marriott properties in the greater Rochester area, all have their strengths, but also, each a fatal flaw. I am in town all weekends during football season and once a month for the duration of the school year - so I have tried many. The superpower here is the staff. Fantastic. Really really welcome stark comparison to the full service Marriott across the street (literally). Pricing and offerings consistent with well run Fairfield Inns, but the staff makes it special. Rooms are lovely and perfect for the utilitarian use they were intended. The problem: the infrastructure needs help. I was excited to "escape the cold" in their gigantic hot tub (no pool, but they have a huge!! Hot tub)... closed "indefinitely" due to repair. So, that was a bummer. Second, the water pressure and availability of hot water in the shower was better than a traditional summer camp, by not by much. Good people. Good pricing. Good location. I'll be back to this spot or the Residence Inn in the same parking lot. Just depends if I want to take on the radical and unfair price swings of the RI, or be ok with some physical plant issues at the FI. Note: I am lifetime platinum with Marriott due to career - so I know they'll ping for all/any reason. I wish they'd email or notify all guests who have reservations to a property if/when a major amenity is closed/not available prior to arrival. This was a pleasure trip for my son's birthday and wanted to enjoy the two days off from work. I may have found a new location within the Marriott family had I known. read more

Welcome to the Marriott Airport/Greece in Rochester, NY. The three night stay was good , but definitely not at the higher level that Marriott usually offers. Rooms were clean and room temperature was comfortable. The shower, however, was consistently lacking hot water in both the shower and the sink. The water flow or pressure was also below average. The biggest issue arose on the second night. I was one of the chaperones for a 180 high school student trip and 3 of the students in my group were locked out of their room for over 12 hours. The night manager could not open the door and the maintenance crew refused to return to the hotel at 11pm to remedy the situation. The students were given another room but did not have their competition papers or any clothing which lead to a very uncomfortable and stressful situation the next day. Higher management the next day would not speak to me and would only speak to the parents. I found out from one of the parents that they only received 20k in Bonvoy points which I thought was unacceptable given the fact that the situation the kids were put in was beyond unacceptable. Nothing was offered to myself as well even though I had to stay up late with the kids to make sure they were taken care of properly. (Even though in the end that didn't really happen either) Overall, very disappointing as the customer was not properly taken care of or compensated properly. Would not recommend this hotel and would hope not to stay there again at next year's competition. read more

Pros: friendly staff Cons: building needs updates, breakfast is subpar Let me get the bad out of the way first. This location needs some updates and it's likely due to the operator of this location. Examples: -The elevator walls are broken and the elevator floors need to be deep cleaned. -Our shower pressure was dependent on what happened in the room next to us. -Our bathroom door got in the way of the toilet (not enough space) -A lot of breakfast items are packaged rather than made "fresh" like other locations It's these reasons why I gave a 2-star rating. However, the staff, as expected, were phenomenal. If it wasn't for the building itself, I'd give this spot 4 stars. read more

Solid 4 stars. Very clean, no frills, place to stay. I would stay here again. Needed a new fridge, pillows, sheets & a late check out. Received them all. Pool is tiny & extremely humid in the room with tiny pool. So we found an outdoor pool elsewhere. I didn't like that the only two rooms we were offered was either by the ice machine #333 (&#334) Or #325 right above where folks have a sitting area to smoke, gather & chat. Especially for our 4 night stay. But that's all they said they could give, hmmm ($888 & that's you best offer). Also their sheets have an oily hair smell, strange. But those are the negatives. Really was a pretty good choice. Shout out to the lead person in charge of housekeeping, she was the best! She saved us often! Marriott should give her a raise! Recognize! pretty decent location as there is a marriott residence inn right next to this spot. it was a busy place and overbooked and one of our party guests had their room canceled without notice and it was an ordeal to get a room which soured the experience. they apparently offered to put up the party guests in the nearby residence inn (walking distance), but weren't willing to compensate the price difference. ultimately, the hotel was able to find the party a room within the hotel after much back and forth. pool was very small and seemed kind of dirty. hot tub was decent with good hot water temp. breakfast was pretty good with lots of options. free wifi is good. room was a good. the suite is quite spacious. plenty of parking and in a safe area. olive garden and a few restaurants are within walking distance. read more

My regular go to while traveling on sales in the area. Also my favorite Fairfield in all of Upstate NY and North East PA. Very pleasant professional staff. Well maintained and conveniently located just off the highway in a quiet area. Excellent selection of breakfast items well beyond what others offer. I have no experience with the pool or fitness room. Very clean rooms. And the most comfortable beds. Highly recommended. Be sure to book well in advance as it appears the secret is out. ​ read more

Staff were friendly, check-in was simple and I was in my room in no time. TV here worked!! The room was clean and I enjoyed the stay here. Few things: 1. Shower - when you shower, 1/2 of the water comes out of the shower head, the other half leaked out of the bathtub faucet. 2. The bathroom was very small... I'm tall person and I shouldn't need to work hard to use the restroom. Overall, decent two nights there, the breakfast your standard buffet, waffle machine, two types of eggs, sausage, fruits, drinks, oatmeal, etc. Definitely would consider staying here again on next visit to Rochester area. read more

We were in my husband's hometown and we had decided to stay at the hotels instead of our in-laws for the fact we were in town for our friends' wedding events. That meant a lot of space, ironing, and bathroom time was required and the accommodation of having our own personal space at the hotel was more than ideal. We had stayed at here for two nights before switching over to the Rochester Airport Marriott across the street as the wedding reception and parties were to be held there. This is one of the newer hotels but very simple for its price. If you're looking to impress- the Airport may be for you but if you're looking for simple accommodations like a room and free breakfast... the Fairfield is the better one. The reason why I'm stating this is I had learned that the Rochester Airport Marriott does NOT offer complimentary breakfast like the Fairfield. I questioned why and learned that due to the fact the Airport has a full bar & Starbucks (not complimentary either) allows their guests to enjoy their buzz without going out. The Airport also has an indoor pool, hot tub, gym, etc- it has it's luxury perks, but I didn't think to bring my swimsuit in the middle of November. Our Fairfield experience was very pleasant and cozy that I was surprised as I've had worst experiences at other hotels at the same price range as this one. The complimentary breakfast was really good- they offered both hot and cold breakfast options- nothing too fancy but waffles and cinnamon raisin bagels were definitely offered. The scrambled eggs were really good, too. When we come back to Rochester for a visit or wedding.... I'd definitely come back to the cheaper hotel--- THIS FAIRFIELD INN. Just because a hotel costs more doesn't mean it's any better than the basic hotel that offers a free breakfast and free coffee. Yes, I do love my breakfast and coffee the minute I wake up. read more

This used to be a Courtyard by Marriott. But they've updated it. Free breakfast, comfy beds, clean rooms. They have a small pool and workout room, hence the 4 stars. There is a hot tub though. Our room had a mini fridge and microwave. The shower had a rainfall shower head with excellent water pressure. The breakfast area was still hopping at 9 am with plenty of options. We'd stay here again! read more

This place is very clean and the staff greeted me with a warm welcome. The walls are thin and I can hear my next door neighbor's loud snore. The room that I got was immaculate. There's no mold in the bathroom. There was no speck of dust on the tables and nightstands. I love how fluffy their pillows were and the bed was pretty comfy. They have a typical continental breakfast included with your stay. The gym was also clean and it looks like they have newer equipment. I also like that the location has convenient access to nearby restaurants and the freeway entrance. I definitely will stay here again in the future. read more

Giving two stars only for the main desk receptionist, Leah. She was extremely nice and accommodating. After staying here many times, this will probably be the last time I ever stay here. Fire alarms went off at about 3:30 am, rushed my daughter and I down 3 flights of stairs and sat in the car until we were told it was ok to go back in. Long story short the alarm went off 3 times after, interrupting our sleep.. making for a not so relaxing stay. Then the hot tub became closed.. which was one of the main reasons I picked the hotel. Spoke with the manager "Laury" who was extremely rude and uncaring. Seemed to be more upset she was being bothered than anything. What a disappointment for my daughter, whom we were their to celebrate her 8th bday. Major letdown. Woke up more sore and tired than I do at my own home. Not a great experience. At all. Not to mention, we've had a home fire before so this was very triggering for us. I'd probably never bring my family here again.. unfortunately read more

I don't think I have ever rated a hotel a 5 before unless it was some lavish resort but this hotel certainly deserves it. I stayed in Rochester during the coldest days this winter (1/3 - 1/6/18) with snow piling up each day. The hotel is in an excellent location, close to 3 restaurants easily accessible by foot even in snow. Customer service is excellent. The young lady at the front desk was extremely polite and courteous. She greeted me each day upon my return to the hotel. She also recommended delivery when I was reluctant to go out for dinner one evening. She genuinely cared where many hotel attendants just do a job. The rooms were very nice--spacious, clean, comfortable and quiet. My view overlooked a busy highway but I did not hear any traffic at all. Getting to the main road was very easy. They gym was nice and clean with plenty of equipment for my cardio workout (on the treadmill). One of the best parts was breakfast. Now, if you have read any of my post regarding hotels, I NEVER say great things about hotel breakfast options, but Fairfield-Rochester is the best. The first morning they had fresh fruit, and tasty juices. The 2nd morning, they served veggie sausage and soy milk. Why I have never seen this in any hotel in all my years traveling. And the best part, is that it was a tasty and filling breakfast, complete with fresh strawberries. I only wish that other hotels, especially other Marriott hotels would take lessons from this hotel as they have it down pat. Way to go Fairfield. read more

Stayed here this past Saturday night because we were in town for my cousin's baby shower and to spend time with some family in the area. So I was honestly in the process of writing a very negative review for this hotel because I came here cranky and tired with a confirmation number for our reservation, and I thought that it was the hotel's fault for not having the room for us -- but turns out someone in our party accidentally canceled it so it wasn't the hotel's fault at all. Some positives and negatives from that conversation. (1) There was this one point where the guy helping us had a disrespectful tone when my parents were mostly just confused and trying to understand what happened to their reservation. (2) However, to his credit, he was super nice by the end and made sure he got us a room, even a bigger one than we initially reserved, for the same price that we reserved it as even though the price went up by that day. So aside from that whole debacle, the few hours I spent in the hotel were pretty nice. The room was great, the location was convenient, and the breakfast was pretty good. Their whole lobby area is very well decorated. They even have a thing where to open the door to get into the hotel you have to tap your room key -- which I think is a nice feature. The woman working there when we got back late at night was really nice and opened the door for us when she saw us standing there confused. Then opened it multiple more times for the rest of the people who were coming in. The room itself was well-organized and nice. There were a number of well-placed outlets, the tv was accessible, and the wi-fi was completely free and required no code. The breakfast in the morning was nice as well. They had a solid amount of options. Wasn't super extensive, but extensive enough. Their tea and coffee was also good -- and it was nice that we could grab that at any time in the to-go cups they had. The tables were slightly small, but we figured it out. I would definitely stay here again next time I'm in Rochester based on my experience. read more

This hotel was good and had a great time with all our family for a wedding but the AC for all the rooms we were staying in was horrible!!!!! Had the worst nights of sleep.. we would all wake up sweating in the middle of the night. The AC was not working great. We had it at 50 degrees and even then it was horrible !!! I can't believe this can happen in a hotel like this one. Never again. read more

We stayed here for a whole week (04/25- 05/02) Our experience was amazing. The beds were really comfortable. There was plenty of space inside our rooms. Our bathroom was very small but having Paul Mitchell products made up for it. There was an iron, lots of towels available, blow dryer, microwave in the room. Two tvs....one facing the bed and the other facing our couch. Breakfast was really good in the morning. Several options throughout the week. Waffles, French toast, turkey bacon, sausage, variety of cereals, yogurts, soy/regular milk, oatmeal, fresh fruit, bagels, breads, fresh fruit, Apple/orange juice. Coffee and tea was available through out the day and very good. read more

The hotel was very clean. I'm a clean freak and it was good for me. The hotel is near highways and restaurants. The free breakfast was decent. The hot items like eggs got a bit weird sitting there but I can't be too picky with free breakfast. read more

Stayed for 2 nights with a wedding block. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and accommodating. A standard complimentary breakfast is offered. This hotel has a wonderful outside sitting area in the back which was a great place to meet our extended family staying there. The only negative comment I have is that in the outside sitting area there was a smell of gas from some exhaust fan out there. Other than that it was a very nice hotel. read more

Hotel was okay for the price we paid for our room. Two problems, first the shower. The handle wasn't lined up correctly and you got really hot water or really cold water. The other was the free breakfast. The warm food was lukewarm or cold. Waffle maker was broken. Also out of oatmeal and bacon.
