This morning, I accidentally blew the fuse for the cigarette lighter to the car my daughter was driving all the way to AZ in today. I pulled out the manual and tried to figure out how to fix it, but I'm a bit illiterate when it comes to cars. The clock was ticking down and my daughter was ready to leave, so I started to feel a little panicked that I'd blown the one way she had to charge her phone on that long trip. I took it to the auto parts store in town, and although they did a courtesy glance at the fuse boxes, the man there said he didn't have time to help me and frankly, didn't seem to care at all. By the time I left that particular auto parts store I was crying out of frustration and worry. We'd had tires put on by Fairfield Tire and Service, so my husband suggested I take the car there to see if they had time to help me. It's only a block away from the auto parts store, so I drove right over. They were booked. Solid. When I walked in, the manager said his workers were swamped and that they'd not be able to fit me in. However, he must've seen my face because instead of sending me on my way, he called Carson over to help me. Carson stopped what he was already working on and came right out to help with a smile on his face. He cracked some jokes, pulled up schematics on his phone (the owners manual to the car wasn't helpful to him either) dug around a bit, and FOUND THE BLOWN FUSE! He fixed it, I paid for the fuse, and my daughter is now on her way to AZ with the ability to charge her phone on the road. I am so grateful to Fairfeld Tire and Service, to the manager, and to Carson for his professionalism and expertise. They are compassionate AND really good at what they do. We've had work done here several times and between Keith, Janice, Rick, and Josh, we've always gotten a solid explanation and a square deal. Brakes, new tires, A/C repair, oil changes -- you name it -- always reliable and trustworthy. Additionally, they've gone above and beyond. We had a mechanical issue out of state that turned into a nightmare with the garage where we'd taken the vehicle. As the ordeal played out, we called Fairfield Tire to consult with us regarding what this other garage was telling us. I have been using this company for 3 years. They service all of our vehicles and we have 5. They complete work from oil changes and tire rotations to wheel bearing replacement and alignments. I find Keith and Janice to be very honest and helpful. They provide an accurate estimate for repairs and call if there is anything that is found and would increase the price.
