The largest shop is... vendors. So you need to know your stuff. I once bought a post card that was just a copy of a postcard...and the vendor knew it. BUT...the staff behind the counter ... great. They will keep an eye on you, but if I were a vendor I would really like that. They don't "spy" on you, or make you leave your bag, but I like that they keep an eye on things. Very fast moving shop. I go about once a week and there is always something NEW. You get to know which vendors are high priced (which is fair as it's really nice stuff) and which have the "Barn fresh" finds that I like. There are LOTS OF SALES at the booths, lots. So bring cash. I've had my best deals just paying cash. I bought a French clock from the Colonial era, with all the paperwork including the last time it had been worked on (1976, and the details of the repairs) for $50. It was just sale time and I had cash! Large variety of EVERYTHING. Last trip it was a wonderful bookcase that someone had made. Not OLD (as in very old) but solid. Incredibly low price and it's holding a ton of books. You never know what you will find, but if it is something you like, they'll hold it for you while you go get cash. They don't mind if you charge either....but best deals are in cash. Also one where you can bring your children, not perhaps the youngest, but kids have had fun here. I have seen children starting their collections here, from little soldiers to Bryer horses. It's one of the few shops that you feel comfortable brining a child.
