By any means she is not respectful. She's not professional she should be let go if you don't love your job don't come to work period If you need a retire, go go right ahead and do it because you are the first person people interact with and man this lady has no manners at all no respect just rudeness 100% rude. They used to have this wonderful gentleman .But he was super amazing , super friendly, super respectful and professional. very disorganized. was looking for a PCP in Minneapolis after moving here recently. Arrived at 930 for a 10am appointment (told me to arrive at 940) and waited for an hour figuring they were running behind. asked the desk, they never finalized my check in somehow and then was told to wait longer. got back to the waiting area where the nurse apologized but said the doctor just took a different patient so I'd have to wait. i told myself if it goes over 1.5 hours after my appointment, I'd have to leave for work. ended up leaving without being seen. the building was nice, but the system was awful and the people in the waiting room were quite loud and noisy (old man playing Tik toks at top volume). it was chaotic and I could not recommend this place any less. read more

When I walked in there was one person behind the counter, then a another gentleman came around the corner (chewing food) said he could "help you over here" than had me standing there waiting for over 5 minute. I went back to the lab and pushed the buzzer, waited, ended having to pish it 3 time before the phlebotomist poked his head around the corner and said "hold on a second" disappeared for almost 10 minutes then returned, ordered me to sit, then disappeared (again) for another 5 minute. Then reappeared and asked (demanded) whether I wanted vein or finger prick, I had to repeat myself 5 times, he wanted to argue. The blood draw took 5x longer than ANY draw I'd ever had, he was snotty and a total jerk. the results were not submitted (it was a Friday at 2pm) until the following Monday. this has been my best experience in healthcare EVER! I was seen by Laura Hart, CNP, a travel nurse practitioner. She was diligent, professional, and she TOOK HER TIME talking to both of us during our travel consultation! Researching our medical histories, finding the correct vaccination requirements for our travel to distant climates, approachable and happily answering ALL of our questions, she is the example of the best of healthcare! We did need shots, which Maria S, RN administered quickly and almost painlessly! Our appointments were scheduled for late afternoon (3:30pm) and when checking our vital signs, Maria asked if we had a good lunch. Upon hearing that I didn't, she provided me with a couple of bags of animal crackers and juices, so when my turn for shots came up, I wouldn't be uncomfortable! I saw Sarah Ann Ndyajunwoha, MD, who was nice and gracious during my visit but terrible in treatment. I made an appointment for my annual physical which she confused as my annual obgyn exam. She didn't draw any blood work to check my cholesterol, which has been high for me in the past and I wanted checked. She pretty much blew it off saying I should be fine and it doesn't need to be checked annually?! I also received charge that should have been covered by my insurance but the billing staff added incorrectly to my visits billing. They are so arrogant they won't listen to your side of the issue when I called to inquire about it. Overall the staff was nice, scheduling was easy but I had to tell three different people, including the dr. that I had forwarded my records before my first visit here. They were finally found on the dr.'s desk which the dr. hastily looked through during my visit. She just seemed rushed and didn't seem to care. I am new to Minneapolis and sort of mortified this place passes as medical treatment. read more

I like and appreciate my doctor a lot. This rating is for a persistent badgering of me over the years to complete the PhQ-9 every time I come in, and I have to come in a lot because of chronic medical conditions. The PhQ-9 is a depression screening. I do not come to the clinic for depression treatment. I am a psychotherapist. One of the grounds on which I object to the PhQ-9 is that it is known by some to produce false positives. Peer-reviewed articles have also compellingly questioned the reliability of the PhQ-9 in primary-care settings. "Among studies conducted in primary care settings, approximately half of patients who screened positive on the PHQ-9 had major depression." Only half. That is a poor finding, and this peer-reviewed journal article is not the only one to have this finding. Despite raising my voice against this instrument, I still receive it. I still receive it, too, despite the fact that the depression I did have remitted and that I am followed by an external psychiatrist, whom I mostly see these days just because I enjoy talking to him. The last time I tried to decline a few months ago, by verbally objecting, someone badgered me again. Then the next time I came in, I put the tablet on the counter without filling out the PhQ-9--I didn't even try to verbally object because I've never been listened to on this point. After about ten minutes, the same staff person (I think) told me that completing the PhQ-9 triggers staff to get me ready for my visit and next time all I have to do is say I decline! But that doesn't go far enough. I do not want this tablet shoved at me at all. I have expressed my disagreement enough times that I should not have to endure the embarrassment and futility of trying to discuss this in front of other patients when the next person tries to force me to do this. In short, this has become a privacy problem for me. My partner, who accompanied during this last "discussion," was aghast. I am not trying to scapegoat staff. In fact, I routinely like the people I came across in the clinic. I'm saying that this is an administrative problem. I have talked with my doctor about this, and though he understands and I believe does agree with my arguments, there is no administrative person my doctor can refer me to so that they will just stop giving me this instrument. As a person with primary insomnia, there will always be dimensions of the PhQ-9 that may falsely indicate depression *because they are dimensions that pertain to tiredness and insomnia*. I can't sleep because I have primary insomnia. I can't concentrate when I don't sleep. I am tired and have little energy when I can't sleep. I move slowly when I am exhausted because of another condition that causes chronic joint pain and is naturally worse without restorative sleep. And yes, all this can go on for two or more weeks *because I have primary insomnia* and endure stretches when I can't sleep through the night or I sleep poorly. If you knew the questions the PhQ-9 asked, you'd understand how intractable insomnia could produce a false-positive finding. But whether or not the PhQ-9 is useful for me, the point is, this practice does not give me a choice not to receive this, and only last time gave me any choice to decline filling it out once I received it. I have no agency over this thing, despite the fact that I likely have far more training in mental health than anyone in the clinic who uses or looks at this instrument. I'm the one that went to school to be a therapist. After years of trying to deal with this cudgel, I am considering leaving the Fairview. read more

Waiting on the phone for a very long time , and a lady who answered my call yesterday couldn't find a medication that I told her I needed refill and my medication list is very short , only 2 active on there that I refill regularly, once she found it she said that she can't pronounce it cuz it's too long . Like most people, I haaaaaaaate scheduling my annual appointment. Every time I pick up the phone to do it, I know I'm staring down the barrel of piles of paperwork from insurance companies, awkward poking and proddings, and guilt about lying about my height. (Adding an inch isn't so bad, right? RIGHT?) So when I run into hurdles every step of the way in this already-ardurous-and-miserable process, I get annoyed. They called two different times before my appointment- during work hours, of course-with virtually the same question (what's your new address?). When I tried to call them the morning of my appointment to get clarification on something, I spent 10 minutes on hold FOUR DIFFERENT TIMES before getting exasperated and hanging up each time. When I got there, I talked to three different nurses about a procedure I needed and whether or not they felt like providing it to me, getting three different answers each time, when I made it perfectly clear that if I COULD get it, I wanted it. And to cap it all off (and this is for the ladies out there who deal with this shit ALL.THE.TIME) the lady doctor I saw spent 10 minutes- using vague and silly reasons- trying to talk me out of the birth control method I made it clear I wanted. The conversation went like this: Me: I want something long-term and I don't like the Pill. Her: YOU SHOULD TRY THE PILL! That other thing is long-term, which is bad. Me: ...................... The clinic, itself, is located in the 3033 Building right on Excelsior Blvd. It's not hard to find at all, large green-tinted glass building right off of Calhoun Parkway. Parking is good, as there is a private lot and, if I'm not mistaken, valet parking is also available. This location is also very close in proximity to where I now live, but I have been a patient of Dr. Sarah Ndyajunwoha's for at least six years now. She is my spouse's physician, and he had nothing but good things to say about her, and I also wanted to find a physician who is a woman of color, so both criteria helped in the decision-making process to enlist her as my primary care physician. The bonus is that Dr. Sarah (as she is affectionately called) is really a very caring and supportive physician. She listens intently to my problems and is also open to finding alternative solutions to certain medical issues that I might have. Years ago, when my cholesterol was high, she wasn't quick to put on me statin drugs (which are really bad for the body). She actually suggested I try red yeast rice as a supplement and see how that would work for me. I did try it for a short while, but I had to discontinue taking red yeast rice because I began experiencing leg cramps (which is one of the side effects). I did find a couple of other supplements (CoQ10 and policosanol) which have worked very well to lower my cholesterol, and Dr. Sarah approves of my taking those. The support staff and nurses have always treated me well, and they also respect my wishes not to be weighed all the time when I arrive and to take my blood pressure using a thigh or a leg cuff, as I have large forearms, and if my blood pressure is taken with a regular-sized adult cuff, the reading tends to be artificially elevated. I personally avoid going to the doctor office as much as possible, unless it's something that is outside of the scope of being able to treat and resolve myself, but I don't mind coming to see Dr. Sarah and interacting with the staff here for even just lab work. They tend to make my visits very efficient and pleasant experience. read more

It can be a pain to get to this place in a car during some parts of the day due to that odd intersection at Lake and Excelsior. Parking is ample once you get there, however. I have been going to Fairview Uptown Clinic for so long, I can't even remember when I started. Suffice it to say, I was with them in their old location on Lagoon Avenue. I initially only went there on occasion...things like ear infections, tetanus shots, etc. A few years back, I had a health scare and started seeing Dr. Pamela Noll exclusively and I ADORE her. She is kind, caring, professional, thorough and I never, ever feel rushed or not listened to. I'm one of those people who asks a million questions about supplements, alternative treatments, details about every little test, etc. and she always patiently and politely answers my questions. She never makes me feel like I'm asking something stupid. I love that you can make appointments online as well as communicate with your Dr. or the clinic via email. Same thing for prescription refills, lab results, etc. Its a huge time saver and makes the whole process much easier. In addition to Dr. Noll, I really love the staff. Everyone from the receptionists, the nurses, the lab techs and beyond, are friendly, competent and just generally nice people to be around. I don't like going to the Dr., but I always know that I am in not only competent hands, but that I am going to see people who have a great bedside manner. I can't imagine going anywhere else and if Dr. Noll ever leaves, I'm following her! read more

Absolutely love my Dr, and everything about this clinic. Dr. Sarah Ndyajunwoha is so sweet. She was my OB she delivered my baby, she is my daughters dr. now and still my Dr. She makes me feel very comfortable. I couldnt imagine going to anyone else now. Her nurse Ashley is also super awesome. I feel like there my friends when I go there. Great experience everytime. Only complaint is EVERY time i call which is quite often I have to wait on the phone FOREVER! Its very inconvenient, and annoying. There hasnt been one time I havnt waited for less than 10 minutes it seems even when I am 1st caller in que, but I do understand they are very busy. Ive been temtped to hang up and call somewhere else though. read more

Inadequate and unfortunate. I am 16 weeks pregnant and HAVE to switch doctors! From the first confirmation from Dr Shamsi, at Fairview Uptown, who told me nothing about future appointments or actually setting one up. I got into see Sarah Johnson, my favorite doctor, a month later and she told me she was leaving so there was no point in that appointment either. At this point, I am at least two months pregnant with no clue what's going on or what I am supposed to be doing. I went to my first ultrasound at Fairview Riverside and the woman was mean and crazy acting! It was my first ultrasound of my baby and she acted like I was imposing on her day. I decided to go with a midwife- they have five and you have to know them all, but there is a male midwife and my boyfriend and I just don't feel comfortable with that- it's fine whoever delivers our baby, but we want a more personal relationship with our prenatal care provider. I have read that at every appointment, I will have a urine test, and it is extremely important. I've only had the initial one to confirm pregnancy. My friend went through Fairview clinics and hospitals to have her baby and she said it was horrible, that was ten years ago. She said something about how she could show me something on his head that happened during delivery. NO MORE FAIRVIEW FOR ME, FOR ANYTHING! read more

Jonathan Tallman is pretty much the best doctor I have ever had. His personality is a little weird and goofy, so I don't know if he's for everybody. But for me, he's tops. *He's very evidence-based and will talk to you about the research and why he's making this or that recommendation. *He knows and remembers his patients and spends lots of time talking with you at every appointment. Even stuff where the problem can be solved in like 5 minutes, he'll talk with you for 20. *He answers questions more thoroughly than any doctor I've had and doesn't treat you like an idiot. This is the first doctor I've ever had that I enthusiastically recommend to friends and strangers and just about everybody. I no longer live as close to this location as I used to, and it's still worth driving further, just to keep going to Dr. Tallman. read more

I picked Fairview Uptown Clinic as my Primary Care location recently. My doctor was really great to work with - very professional and answered all my questions about improving general fitness. I like their online record system so I can view test results easily. Scheduling was extremely easy, they had same day appointments when I called to schedule a physical. (I was the one too busy for a same day appointment) It was equally easy to make an appointment with the lab. So far I couldn't be happier with choosing Fairview Uptown Clinic for a general practitioner. read more

2.5 stars, 5 for my doctor and 0 for her nurse. I visited this clinic after a good hours worth of research online to find a new doctor in the Uptown area. The doctor I chose was Sarah Johnson who was very nice and knowledgeable; someone I would've liked to have seen again. Unfortunately her nurse was quite possibly the worst healthcare professional (if you could even call her that) that I've encountered. Her bedside manner was atrocious and she acted like she was far too good to be sitting there doing her job. She mentioned that she was in night school and I remember all I could think was "oh lord, please don't tell me this girl is going to be a doctor someday". Although one could only hope that maybe she just hadn't taken the bedside manner course yet and would someday become a decent health care professional. Either way I found myself a new doctor and even changed out of the Fairview network. read more

While the doctor I saw was helpful, kind and even listened to what I have to say, I would not recommend this clinic to anyone. The doctor maintained the medication I was receiving from a previous doctor (out of state), and said that she would fax in prescriptions for the medications. I went to the pharmacy later that evening, which was actually very out of my way--when I realized how far it was, I decided to change the pharmacy for my next visit. However, when I got there, they didn't have the prescription. So, the next day I called the office--I was told that 100% the prescription was sent. So, again, I drove far to try to get my prescription--they didn't have it. So, I called again the next day--the person told me that the prescription hadn't even been sent yet, so I asked if I could change where my prescription was being sent. She said yes, and then put me on hold--after a short period of time, I heard the phone hanging up. I called again the next day and they said, "the prescription was sent out four days ago." I told them I had been there multiple times and the pharmacy said they didn't have it. The person on the phone said that I should go check again. I didn't--I don't have the money to drive so far every day--honestly, I don't even have the money for these phone calls, as I use a pre-paid phone and have to pay for all of my use. So, I called the pharmacy, they said they didn't have it. I called the clinic back and they told me that they would have someone who could help me call me back. I waited two days and no one called me back. So, I called again today, got the same run around and was told that someone would call me back shortly to help me. No one called. Honestly--it is beyond ridiculous--I don't have the time or money for this type of terrible service and I actually need my medications--it has been over a week since my appointment and I run out of my medications tomorrow. I have never had such and incredibly bad experience with a clinic--and I've been to some really terrible clinics. read more
