DISGUSTING, FILTHY, NASTY!! DO NOT TAKE ANY ANIMAL YOU CARE ABOUT TO THIS PLACE!! I hate even giving them 1 star, but I have no choice. ZERO, negative numbers is what I'd give them. And what boarder in Little Rock boasts about being able to house 250 dogs at a time?!? Really?? At what expense? Clearly your pet's mental health, physical health, and sanitation. AND...they are NOT accredited by the BBB after 42 years in business???? That says SO MUCH!! READ below... We boarded our 3 small dogs here in a private run for 5 nights (May 5-10, 2021) while we were out of town and picked this place because they had been groomed here once and it was close to our house. BIG MISTAKE. My husband dropped them off and I picked them up and it was my first time in the place. It reeked of urine the minute I walked in. I walked my dogs to the car after paying $359 and once inside I smelled the foul odor of days old urine. I took them straight to the bathtub once home and OH. MY. GOSH. The filth that came off them was unreal. I had to wash them each twice to get the horrible stench off. Their bottoms were crusted with poop and my 12 year old cocker had bright yellow diarrhea stains I had to scrub off. The small blanket I sent with my 12lb Shorkie that they shoved into a paper bag when I arrived was covered in urine and diarrhea to the point I had to throw it away. My cocker then had a $100 Vet bill because she had such awful diarrhea for days, which clearly was present at the kennel but they didn't bother to let me know. The Vet office said "yea, we see many dogs from there that end up sick". I felt so horrible for my poor babies. Then, my Shorkie came home vomiting and $290 later, the Vet said she had a bug from that nasty place PLUS terrible gastritis from the anxiety and stress of boarding her there. They have never ever had these issues when boarded at other places. My husband called to ask questions and tell them about our experience. They didn't care. I went to them in person and reiterated how filthy they were, their GI issues, and what the Vet office said. They played dumb. I asked to see the run they were in. AWFUL!! Row after row of long cement runs. They won't let you send their bed, but give them a paper thin cotton rug to lay on all day long on top of the cement. They let them pee and poop in the run, leaving them no choice but to walk and lay in it...their justification for this to me was that they "hose it down to sanitize every night". I asked what agency regulates them and they said "none". I suggested that's the problem...no regulation and they don't care enough to make the place decent for your pet. They claim they can house 250 dogs and are so proud of that. I challenged them on how they could possibly house that many dogs and the lady claimed "well, we have the room". I interjected that just because you can doesn't mean you should. You can't care well for that many dogs. When I asked if they have read the reviews online of their facility, they claimed the reviews are from "years ago" but also replied when I challenged them that nothing has changed with their business since then. It has taken a good week for my babies to start normalizing again. I feel so sad for them and should have read the other HORRIBLE reviews first. DO NOT use this place, please, and tell everyone you know in the area to RUN away or else your precious pets will suffer miserably. read more

Do not bring any animal of any sort here!!! They will say they can help your pet just to test to see if they really can. I brought my bunny here that they said they can get rid of his fleas and nails trimmed. A simple task. As SOON as o got him back in my hands I saw a big ass flea on his nose. I told her about it and she said she didn't know what to to tell me because she BATHED HIM IN A DOGGGGG BATH!!! She could've killed him. Bunnies can grow mold for being too wet & the chemicals are too harsh for their fur... hence why labs test on bunnies. She said she didn't really know how far to cut his nails so she just trimmed how she would a dog... are you serious?!?? Save your time and money and take you fur baby else where. This should be illegal. read more

I am not happy with their customer service. I had to board my dog on last minute's notice to fly to Nebraska for a funeral. I called them and let them know I was rushing to get there ASAP but it might be a few minutes after their official 'drop-off' time ends. They said that was unacceptable they would not make an except to the drop-off time rule and turned me and my dog away after we had been a loyal customer for 2+ years. I even explained to them that it was for a funeral and the lady on the phone went on a rant about how 'if she had to stay late for every person like me she would work hours overtime.' I was very frustrated. On top of that, after reading other reviews about dogs getting hurt here, I will surely never take my dog here again! read more

This place is awesome. They can always take your animals. We board three dogs, and a ferret often without notice. The workers are friendly, competent, and our pets love them! They are also great groomers, look after our special needs dog. Highly recommend! read more

Sadly, Fairview seems to have gone downhill...my dog used to LOVE daycare here, and I so I also used their grooming services when it was bath time for her. She's a "wash 'n wear" kinda dog so no grooming required, but they (are supposed to) include cutting nails, cleaning ears and expressing glands in the bath service. They always did great and even offered oatmeal shampoo for when my fur-baby's allergies flared. I got my mother to start taking her three pups there they did such a good job. HOWEVER...Sadly, Both My mom and I have had a lot of bad experiences lately. We've picked up our dogs with dirty ears, raggedly groomed, matted fur, and last time, took one dog in to get her nails trimmed they completely missed three nails! Pretty bad when that's all we took her in for! Another time I swear they musta just sprayed my dog with that "dry shampoo" stuff instead of bathing her...she still had pine sap from our backyard in her fur. We've given them too many chances to chalk these things up to "a bad day"...it's officially a regular occurrence There are a few staff members here that I really like, so it's sad that I must another groomer. I Don't take my girl to daycare anymore so I can't comment about that, but not sure I'd trust that she'd be taken care of since I can't trust them to bathe and groom in a professional manner. I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews, and this makes me sad to have to write, but other people need to know. read more

I want to start by saying that the staff here was always incredibly friendly and I genuinely liked them. I took my English Bulldog here for daycare for about a year, at least a couple of times a week. She often came home smelling of urine but I brushed it off as normal, being it's a daycare for dogs. (I know now, after taking her elsewhere, that this isn't normal.) I stopped taking her after an incident in which she had become so over-heated that she couldn't be brought out to me and they were attempting to cool her off. Knowing that she's a heat sensitive breed, I asked why she was even outside. They said, "Oh she just ran outside and they didn't notice her in the play yard." Needless to say, never went back. If you have a special needs breed, I'd take your pup elsewhere. read more

I have been taking my dogs to Fairview for over 5 years. Chrystie and the staff are amazing! I first started taking my dog to doggie daycare after a traumatic event that had her scared to be away from people. They treated her like family, helping her get comfortable with other dogs and people again. I also love being able to board my dogs here knowing that they are safe and well cared for. In the rare event that something has been out of sorts with my dog , I have always gotten a call to discuss. I would highly recommend this kennel. read more

I used this place as a pet groomer for a few years and they just started slowly dissapointing me. Each time I would get my dogs, their haircut would be choppy looking and not clean! My older dog would cry when I took her there, so I had to find a new groomer, and couldnt be happier!! I am not sure if they have new staff or what...but they just arent the same!! read more

I was unfortunate enough to board my two dogs here over the course of a three week trip to Europe. It was a last resort, as I knew of no one who would be able to watch my dogs for that extended period of time. However, I did leave numerous contact numbers of both myself and my local friends with the staff of Fair View should there be a problem or they need to get in touch with someone who was familiar with my dogs. When I dropped the dogs off the day before I was to depart, the staff would not allow me to go to the back kennel area with them to say goodbye. They also initially refused to let me leave my dogs bed and blanket until I told the staff that I did not care what condition the bedding was returned in. This should have been my first indication to take my dogs and leave. I was wary, but without the time to set up an alternate form of care I decided that I would entrust my dogs to Fair View Kennels. I called the staff of Fair View every few days from Europe to check up on my dogs, and each time was told that they 'were fine', 'were great', 'nothing was amiss', etc. I returned from my trip to Europe to find my dogs in deplorable condition. One who usually weighs about 21lbs, was down to 16 1/2 lbs. He was covered in sores, a rash, and scaly skin. In short, he looked emaciated and in a condition as though he had just been picked up at a shelter for abused dogs. My other dog who normally weighs about 8lbs, weighed 5 upon pickup. I'm convinced that the only reason she did not have sores on her joints is because she is a longer haired breed. Had I been told of my dogs deteriorating condition I would have immediately had a friend, or co worker go pick them up and arranged an alternate form of care. However, because of the deceit of the Fair View Staff I was unaware of my dogs condition until my return. I was appalled, and hold the staff and Fair View Kennels responsible for lying about the condition of my dogs thus rendering me in Europe unable to arrange better care for them. I could not in good conscience recommend Fair View Kennels to anyone, and would dissuade anyone from leaving their pets in a place that believes a dog who is emaciated with sores, scabs, and a rash is 'fine'. read more

Think twice before sending your animal here - our dog was killed at Fairview Kennels. We had been customers of Fairview for the better part of 10 years taking both of our dogs there for grooming, doggy daycare, and on occasion boarding. On April 30th I took both dogs (a Lhasa Apso and a Beagle mix) to be groomed and for daycare. A few hours later I received a call that the Lhasa Apso had been killed while at daycare. They said it happened during a moment where the person supervising them left to fix the lunches for some other dogs. It all happened when they were unsupervised and in an open play area. The wound was gruesome, vicious, and lethal. Anyone thinking of using this business for daycare or boarding purposes should know that this happened to us and take that into consideration before leaving their loved ones in their care. read more

Carol W. 8/25/16 I left my 15 pound dog at Fairview Kennels, 11523 Fairview Rd, Little Rock, AR, a few weeks ago for grooming. After I picked him up, I saw that the whites of his eyes were bloody red on both eyes. I called to find out what happened but nobody knew. One response was he could have strained on the lease to hard. My vet said there was either a blow to the head or a hard pull on his neck to cause bleeding in his head which drained to his eyes. There was definitely trauma to the head to cause the injury. I should have been called when it happen so I could get him to the vet. I know he would have cried or yelped when this happen. I would never take him back again. read more

Left my puppy there for doggy daycare. She was bit by a 35 lb dog and she was 13 lbs. They took her to the vet without asking me who my vet of choice was and called me after they had returned. No one contacted me from there to check if my dog was ok. Please do not take your dogbthere. read more

I will never take my dog back here. I have a 6 month old puppy who was getting groomed for the first time. I took her to Fairview. They called after a little bit to tell me my dog needed to be sedated and that they had never had a dog act the way she did. They were very rude on the phone. My dog is very sweet and was scared to death when I picked her up. I would not recommend this place at all! read more

I feel compelled to share our experience with as many people as possible. While on a week-long vacation, we boarded our dogs at Fairview Kennels in West Little Rock. When I dropped them off, the girl at the counter couldn't have been more disinterested in me or my dogs. I tried more than once to make certain that there feeding instructions were correct, to which I received a very curt "If you said it, we got it" response. A week later we return to find that our dogs were fed only HALF the amount they should have received the entire week that we were gone.They are lean dogs and missing this much food has left them pathetic and bony. Obviously I was livid and returned to the kennel (my husband and kids had picked them up initially because I had to work) to complain and received condescending responses from the manager such as "Ma'am, they were hardly starved." I called the owner from the parking lot to complain to which he deeply apologized and said he would look into it and get back with me. Two days later I receive a voicemail from the manager, not the owner, saying how sorry he was (insert clearly not sorry tone of voice) and that next time we could expect a 25% discount on boarding services. I do not expect kennels to treat my dog like a child, but I do have certain expectations about sanitation and professionalism. Several months ago, we were new in town and decided to take a last-minute weekend trip. I called around and had some trouble finding a kennel that had availability, and I finally called Fairview to learn they did have openings for boarding. The staff were friendly on the phone, so we headed there. On entering, I felt the facility did not smell as clean as some kennels I have visited, so I asked for a tour of the back after we handed our dog over and signed her up. We walked into the back and I have never seen such a filthy place. Feces were in almost every stall and urine drained out across the walkway. The room reeked. The condition of the kennels was very poor, rusty, and nasty all the way around. Dogs were frantic and one was throwing his body against the door. The staff seemed a little dazed and out of it. They meekly apologized for the lack of cleanliness. I walked out of the place a bit dazed myself, got in the car, told my husband what I had seen, and I went back in and asked for my dog back. My sheltie came out with her tail between her legs, shaking, and literally jumped into the back of our van, something she had never done on her own before. Yes, the noise bothered her, but she had been in kennels before and never had this fearful type of reaction. There was a lack of control and oversight that gave this place a feeling of chaos, in addition to the awful stench in the back. What really got me was the number of staff who were standing around not appearing to do anything. If I were managing this facility, I would have my staff grabbing brooms and cleaning and working to keep things going and in good condition. There was no excuse for this. I know that kennels are not perfectly clean every moment, but I don't let animal feces and urine stay on my floor in my house, and I would not allow it in my business if I owned and operated a boarding company. The conditions were unacceptable. I usually do quite a bit of research on places in any area, not just for pets, and I did not research this place beforehand. Later, I went back and read the poor reviews, and I regretted not reading them ahead of time. However, I am glad I saw this facility, because it reminded me of the importance of checking things out ahead of time whether it is for your child, yourself, or, yes, your pet. I have no reason to discredit this business- I have no idea who manages it. However, I do hope this business has undertaken a thorough overhaul. Please look carefully at this one before patronizing them and entrusting them with a family pet. read more
