i moved out of state and ever since I moved they have robbing me through over draft fees. every week I'm hit with one it seems. idk if it's the time difference or what but when I make a transaction it waits days to actually take it out of my account. so when it does actually come out the money is no longer there and I'm with an over draft fee. it's become quite disgusting how much money they've taken from me over the past few month. insane. I don't recommend this place. will be closing my account this week. I'm tired of paying them for nothing. read more

AWEFUL - Did not close a savings account I never wanted. Charged a $12 fee and RUINED my ability to open a checking account due to "Account Abuse" reported to Chexsystems even after I paid the extortion fee to close all my accounts with them. What a PETTY company. I have never had a negative mark on a bank account in my life, and never been declined to open a new checking account ever. They never sent a letter nor called me stating there was a fee owed. Horrible, horrible, horrible company. read more

Had a minimum amount needed to keep account open without fees, so we put that in because we liked the bank and wanted to keep the account open in case we switched over to it in the future. They raised the minimum needed without us knowing. Proceeded to completely drain our $550 w/ fees that never existed before. Basically stole our money and then wanted us to pay them more in penalties. Never had a bank just drain my account before after implementing new rules. read more

This is not a complaint, those days are over. This is an observation by a 20 year customer that saw a great community credit union turn in to a greedy corporate bank ( you know ...the ones that convince you to join a credit union in the first place). 2 mortgages, 3 auto loans, 2 savings accounts and one checking account gives me the right to comment honestly. The tellers have evolved from knowledgeable neighbors into half wit drones that need to consult with their mangers for almost any issue, and most of the managers are mentally challenged. The branches are the same but different. They have a hard time giving straight answers to even basic questions. Its quite clear the that there is little to no training given and it shows. The average ATM machine is more competent, efficient, and has a greater understanding of the English language then the last dozen fairwinds employees I have seen or spoke with during the last couple of years. Plus they have better personalities! No really Years ago down the street from UCF was s great credit union. If your considering using Fairwinds prepare for the doldrums, skip down to a bank and get superior service. read more

Credit Union...ok so it's a BANK. Thats pretty basic but I can say the building is very clean and nice. You have to walk inside and there is a security guard on duty for the building there so that extra bit of safety downtown is a bonus. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Sure they will try and offer things for you to sign up for, but that is their job and they were not push about it. I see some people have issues with the credit union policies but I don't think one location can change a policy for all banks. Another nice touch is that if you bank and a DIFFERENT credit union you can go here and make a deposit to YOUR credit union at Fairwinds. read more

Went to Fairwinds downtown Orlando to make my monthly deposit into my customer's account. Today I had to complete a deposit slip that included basically the same thing that's on the one check I'm depositing. "What happened to save the trees" more paper to fill out with redundant information. I've been making deposits for over a year into my customer's account without a deposit slip but today the bank manager had something to PROVE by making me fill out a stupid deposit slip for one single check. And today I learned there are no more money market accounts. The teller who also calls herself a bank manager said there are no more money market accounts so now I will need an account number for my customer. And his teller who also calls herself the bank manager tries to make unwanted pleasantries to me. I'm so happy I don't bank here and only have to go here for my customer. read more

If you just want a bank for a saving or checking account they are very good. Any other banking needs don't waste your time. I applied for a motorcycle loan. Fairwinds requested the seller accompany me to the DMV to add Fairwinds as a lien holder. The bike is 2 hours away from my county. Fairwinds would not allow me to go to a DMV near the sellers home, they expected him to drive 2 hours and use a local DMV office. I explained to them a seller is not willing to travel to sign document tht could be taken care of near his home. DMV is a state agency one DMV is the same everywhere in Florida. Making someone travel to sign a document is ridiculous. Also, I applie for a loan with Fairwinds a few years ago and no one ever got back to me. Fairwinds is worthless. read more

Absolutely horrible for loans. Dropped my credit score 62 points by the hard inquiries and then didn't even bother to let my wife and I know they wouldn't o our home equity loan. Both of our scores were well above what they needed and the house equity was 10x more than what we asked for for home upgrades. We had to contact them to see what they needed and never did they reach out first. I would highly suggest to stay away from Fairwinds Credit Union. Customer service is horrible and they will ruin your credit if given the chance. We have 4 other offers even with Fairwinds dragging my credit down. I stopped in to check in with Business Services, as our company was recently approved for a line of credit in addition to a small loan. The application process was super easy, as was the document portal for providing financial statements and forms. Unfortunately, the 2nd floor was being renovated (it looked GREAT!) and, I didn't know that the people I wanted to see had been temporarily relocated to Baldwin Park. I spoke with the branch manager and learned of some professional continuing education that the credit union provides. We had a great visit. Parking is difficult and very limited; but, this location is easily accessed via Central Boulevard and Garland Avenue. read more

My husband and I applied for a HELOC on their secure portal and within 1 hour we had various small nobody lenders calling to offer home loans to both our personal cells...and they know how much we requested! This went on for about a week with about 20 unsolicited calls! It's obvious that our information was shared by either them or the bureau they use. We complained, but they pretended they had no clue...I'm sure I'm not the only one. This is unprofessional and dangerous to the consumer. read more

Mr. Edwin diligently answered my questions in details about the process. Later then, I received a call from the Loan Officer Evelina. She was very professional and explained all the details in how this process is. She was very professional and pointed in to the right direction. I have banked with Fairwinds for years and bought a few vehicles using thier loan. The first two loans I contacted Fairwinds and had a great experience and the process was perfect. Fast forward to my 3rd loan. This time I financed thru the dealer and didn't contact Fairwinds. I was contacted the next day by Fairwinds ( they called me unsolicited) We discussed the loan and he mentioned the he could get me a rate of 1/2 percent lower. When the loan was finalized my interest rate was the exact same as the dealer. Called the loan officer and didn't receive call back. Then emailed him and he stated "sorry for the misunderstanding". My next step has been to call the loan department and speak to management , I have called twice still no call. It is only a 1/2 percent of interest but I truly feel Fairwinds was dishonest about rate. And the icing on the cake was the response I received and lack of follow up or return call. I love my Fairwinds family. This location might be my favorite in Orlando! Although this location is in the heart of Downtown Orlando they are never busy, or at least they work so efficiently I couldn't tell. The staff is incredibly welcoming and are always ready to assist and provide offers if available. I appreciate the staff being consistent also. I interact with the same 2-3 tellers all the time and I love the familiar face feel. I've enjoyed my experience so much that I may be taking more business to Fairwinds in the new year. read more

I would actually like to write a review for the branch in Maitland, Florida off of Orlando Ave however there doesn't seem to be a location listed. I have done all my banking there for years and can't say enough good things about them. As a credit union in general, I expect that they would have higher standards than most banks because they are community run, which means their members vote for on their board of directors and generally have the CEO on speed dial. In the case for Maitland, service is always friendly and fast, yet accurate. I've never had an issue there because they do their best to pay attention to detail and instructions. They are also very knowledgeable and helpful regarding ways to save, budget, smart buying when it comes to big purchases, and advice for loans and credit. The Maitland branch is genuine and homey so each time I go in, it's very pleasant. Because of the fact that it is hidden in a small plaza, the lines hardly ever get very long. Occasionally they do but not to the extent of other financials or locations. Overall, I wouldn't ever go back to a bank. I would stay with a credit union. Fairwinds is different however from other credit unions due to some of the policies that they implement. My favorite thing about Fairwinds is that their deposit system is live, which means I can deposit a check into my account at 5:59pm and I will have credit for it right then without waiting. That's just one of the many things that separates Fairwinds Credit Union from other financials and why I will continue to bank with them. read more

They blocked my atm 5-6 time in 1 month during covid because I get paid monthly and pay my bills and shop in the first 2-3 days of payment. Nothing I have not been doing in the last 3 years. I kept telling them this but it continued. Now they charge a pending fee... meaning even if a pending charge appears but has not posted they charge you 35 dollars because at the time of the pending charge you do did not have the fund. Mind you it does not matter if you place the money before the charge posts to your account. They will still charge you. I am done with this bank after 11 years. read more
