And I got to say I really like the people and the teaching here by the Pastor Dr. Yaw Perbi. He is an author and speaks vet well. Only complaint parking can be a little tricky and difficult. I would love to visit again someday. So I recommend this church as a home church or someone just visiting and need somewhere to worship while you are in Montreal.

The guide informed us that the 13 statues that line the façade's roofline represent the patron saints of parishes who were benefactors for Mary, Queen of the World. Each statue, carved of wood and clad with copper, is 9 feet tall and the work of Joseph Olindo-Gratton, a native of the Quebec province. You can barely see the copper dome and tower from street level. The dome was 252 feet tall and made in 1870-1894. The twelve full-sized copper statues on the roof are the apostles. just wow- it might not come when you research Montreal's top things to do - but make sure you visit it

The front entrance has both steps, and a drive to the huge entrance doors. Inside is a narthex running the full width of the building. Please remember, this is a place of worship. Be respectful of those in prayer throughout. Entering the cathedral through another set of enormous doors the cathedral makes a grand first impression. Along both the right and left sides are chapels dedicated to saints, a baptistry, paintings and statues. Most chapels have candles to light and spaces to sit and pray. A bishops burial chapel is also located within the cathedral. The Ciborium for me is the real show stopper. I was lucky enough to see the one in St. Peter's cathedral, Rome. This is impressive to see in person. Although we did not have an opportunity to hear the organ from 1893, from reading up on it, I'm sure it would have been a treat. You can walk behind the alter/ciborium where there are more areas of worship. If you enjoy the art and architecture of these beautiful Roman churches, you will certainly enjoy this one.

The church is declared as a heritage church and it is located in the city's downtown core of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The church was build and opened its doors in the late 1800s. It is free to go inside during their operating hours.

I stayed after the service because I had to use the restroom, and the dynamics is more or less the same, it´s run like an English country club, an older guy was checking me out and since I did not react to his cruising starred down on me and turned around, another came to say hello, invited me to a cup of coffee and since it was bloody cold outside I stayed for a little while and chatted for a while with a couple of people.

A bit plain from the outside (with the exception of its identifying red roof) the church is a true gem inside. While not full on Sundays, it seems to have a community of friendly people. There is a nice coffee hour after the Mass. The sung Mass on Sundays lasted about 1.5 hrs. I found it to be a place one could feel close to God as they worshiped.

I took a short walk from the Place des Arts Metro station to Rue Jeanne-Mance and arrived about half an hour before their 11am service started to take some photos. The staff was very kind, showing me around and answering any questions that I had. The service is also streamed via Facebook. Interim pastor Geert-Jan Boudewijnse lead the service, which is mainly liturgical, based on Evangelical Lutheran worship with organ accompaniments to the hymns. Communion is open to all believers. The Gospel message was the Parable of the Sower. English is mainly used, with some German segments, as this was originally a German speaking church. They also have various ministries to get involved in, as well as concerts, and community outreaches like their annual Oktoberfest.
