My friend referred me to Fame Tailor about three years ago, and I've been a regular ever since. He use to go there several times a month. Unfortunately, over time we've both noticed their customer service has steadily declined--but my most recent visit was the worst yet. The woman assisting me was directly rude, and when I calmly expressed how I felt, she dismissed me completely and waved me off with a hand in the air. I mentioned it to Connie, one of the managers, expecting a more professional response, but she also talked over me and dismissed my concerns. After years of loyalty, I've decided I'm done. I have a choice where I spend my money, and I won't continue supporting a business that treats customers this way. I've since heard there's another tailor just down the street near Subway who does great work and actually treats people with respect--that's where I'll be going next. read more

If zero stars was an option, this place would definitely get one. I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas and I recall using them for my prom and military ball wear. The customer service was fine back then even with the language barrier. Now, it sucks. The measurement lady is extremely rude. I swear she called me a name in her language when they messed up my bill and didn't account for all of the work because she kept allowing other customers to skip ahead and interrupt the checkout process. When I attempted to review what happened she snatched the original ticket from my hand. Unacceptable. It's too much confusion and they seem to treat ceratin people like crap which is ironic because our community supported them for years. I observed customers repeatedly stating their requirements because they were not sure the person understood the language and captured their order correctly. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend this shop to anyone - anymore. Avoid this place. read more

We have used this tailor for over a year. They do good work and are quick. However, we have often commented on how many times customers are fighting with them. Today, I understand why. I took in a skirt to be altered. When I picked it up, there was a mark on it that had obviously been done by a machine. You can see the design on it. The material is shaved. I pointed it out to them and they told me to take it to the dry cleaners, then that it was my fault. I persisted and they all ganged up telling me they didn't do it, that I had brought it in like that (I had not). I told them that I would be happy with credit since mistakes happen. No refund, no credit. Just a bunch of ugly attitudes. So, customer beware! If they ruin your garment, it's on you! read more

Horrible customer service! I went in on 12/28/19 and dropped off 2 pairs of jeans. I didnt have cash on me, and this is a cash only place, so I was going to take the jeans with me and come back another day. The woman I talked to said to leave the jeans, and I could pay when I picked them up. She originally said Tuesday (12/31), but I said I couldnt come in till the following Saturday. I came in today (1/4/20), only to find since I didn't leave a deposit, they did nothing. They never contacted me, and never told me when I left the jeans they wouldn't do anything. This is the worst kind of customer service there is. I urge you, DO NOT use them. There are far better places to go to than this place. read more

This is a small little establishment in Duncanville in what looks like a old house. There are about 5 ladies in there busy sewing hard on their machines. When you walk in with your items, they tell you to try them on in the dressing room; which is in the front of the business. They measure you, pin the item, and send you on your way. I had some slacks hemmed with cuffs and it's $10 per pair. They only except cash only at this location and it's prepay. read more

Great place for alterations. They completed my daughter's prom dress. The only problem we encountered was we had to come back. The dress was not complete, it didn't have the zipper we paid for. The lady tore up the receipt, but pulled it out the garbage and fixed. She had no problems with changing it, very friendly about. So upon arrival, be sure to check their work and make sure they completed what you paid for. read more

I've used Fame Tailors for over ten years and have always been a fan. They are inexpensive and reasonably fast. As of 9/2015, take a dress shirt in to have the sides tailored and the sleeves narrowed all for just $12.00. Cash only and payment is expected when you LEAVE your garments. Bad customer service. She refused to sew letters on my son college jersey and sent him up the street after I carefully selected this place. She claimed she didn't have the equipment. She has limited use of the English language. I called her on the phone and it was very difficult to get her to understand that she saw my son today. Stay away from this place! read more

I went to 6 different places before going back here bc I already knew it was a bad idea. (I took a dress to her once and it ended up shorter in the back then the front) She said my son's suit would cost $51. I hand her 60 and she comes back with change keeping 57 instead of the 51. Then I get in the car and she chases me outside makes me come back in and tells me I owe her 12 more bc she forgot to charge me for the sleeves. I didnt even agree I was so livid, just walked back out. Cant wait to see what it looks like. SMH read more
