I dance daily and Dr. Tyler is very efficient and resetting and unwinding all the strains I put my body thru. When he's done with a spot, it doesn't come back. He identifies, explains and solves issues. You'll feel great and come away really informed about where your body is at.

I didn't mean that as a brag, but to emphasize my belief that Dr. Gatteau is one of the most positive influences on my running career. His adjustments were huge for a temporary issue, but he helped me develop a process to approaching my sport from a recovery & wellness perspective that actually helped all areas of my life. I came in the summer of 2013 before my senior year of High school with issues with pretty substantial pain, inflammation, and tightness. He made some pretty important adjustments for the time. But he also taught me how to stretch properly, and to relax and naturally drop into a stretch. Using your parasympathetic nervous system vs. forcing into a stretch (sympathetic). This was all in 3 appointments, in one week when I was on vacation, with a huge impact on my career. Before meeting him, I was "injury prone", and at the time I was stressed, and worrying if I'd be able to complete my last Cross Country season in one piece. Instead I was All-State in Illinois Cross Country, ran a 4:15 mile in Track, and got a Division I scholarship. As I reflect on some of my happiest experiences as an athlete, I'm thankful that Dr. Gatteau helped me develop the relaxation process that allowed me to perform at peak levels.

Dr. Kenneth Steffen, who is "Root Soft Tissue and Spine" is not like the past four chiropractors I saw who made "adjustments". This treatment is about removing adhesions in soft tissue (Google muscle adhesions) and not about moving bones. It's a different approach that is working for me and I wish more people knew about it. A friend told me about Dr. Kenneth Steffen after I had tried everything else. I've given it a lot of thought and research since I've been seeing him beginning on August 21, 2019. I'd never heard of "adhesions" before but have learned that scar tissue, adhesions, fibrosis, and knots are different words for the same concept of the dense, fibrous tissues that can form in our muscles and soft tissues. So, over the course of four months, my neck pain is gone when I thought I was stuck with it for the rest of my life. I will say, it hurts to have this treatment. If you've ever experienced someone pressing hard on a sore muscle you have, you know what I'm talking about. It's worse is at the beginning but as time goes on and the adhesions are broken down, the pain also goes away, during the treatment as does the pain that you originally came into get relief from. I am working with Dr. Steffen on my low back, now. I've got arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, along with degenerative discs in my low back and neck. I love to ride my ElliptiGO and that is helpful. I'm so glad I found someone who is actually helping me feel better. Ibuprofen, pain killers and surgery are not the answer for me. One more thing, Kenneth is a kind, trustworthy young man. I'm comfortable with him as a person and with his knowledge and professionalism.

I have had years of horseback riding...sports...car accidents...and surgeries...most of which I probably didn't need...but didn't know about Adhesion Release...I found Dr Steffen on Facebook and it's the best thing that I'm doing for myself! I started with my neck and soon followed with my back. A consultation is all you need to know... if it's going to benefit you!

It was based on my experience with him that I signed up for their monthly deals. He takes the time to recommend exercises. He truly wants you to get better. I will confess that I haven't taken the time to follow through on the exercises, but I will definitely be more committed going forward. Both chiropractors are great but I have my preference. Check in is quick when you scan you card. Waiting room is basic and certainly no frills. If you want water, you'd need to ask. Couches are comfy. I've had more comfortable wait areas at other locations in another state: teas, hot and cold water, mints, magazines, even adult coloring books. But functionally, I'd highly recommend.

This is the second doctor I have gone to on a regular basis at the Joint on Taft who has left unexpectedly and suddenly with no explanation. Dr. Justin also was just gone with no notice or explanation. A third doctor I was seeing regularly, Dr. Matt, went to Lafayette to start a Joint there, but there was plenty of notice when he left. I'm not a "one size fits all" kind of person though I understand that the Joint model assumes that all chiropractors and all clients are created equal. Dr. Caleb's work with me grew as he got to know me better. He always asked good questions that led him to help me more specifically over time. I'm really disappointed as I was just hitting my stride again with Dr. Caleb. It's not a good business model to have such frequent turnover and clients at the Taft office have declined as a result.
