Save yourself the stress. I experienced rude staff on the phone and in person from the front desk. I believe it was one of the nurses. ( I never go alone due to places like from past experience. ) The person who went with me even said something about how this person was speaking to me. communication with clients and pharmacies was horrible forcing clients to push for communication due to weeks in between contact and incorrect meds getting send out. They can only provide the most basic care so if you're looking for more than the absolute most basic care please save yourself the stress and go somewhere else. read more

I wish I could give 100 stars. Like truly every single staff member has gone above and beyond during my pregnancy to make me feel safe and cared for. I saw Paige, Kelsey, and Erika the most throughout my pregnancy and had the chance to be with Jessica during a good piece of my labor. I was terrified for my medical induction but they all gave me full autonomy of how I wanted to labor and explained every choice and decision. Kelsey delivered my little man and while pushing took what felt like an eternity she kept encouraging me through my labor rage and was beyond patient and supportive even if I became less than pleasant to deal with. I previously went to another clinic before moving to Fort Collins and I felt like just a number. Here I felt like I built a lifelong trust with every single midwife. After my delivery Kelsey was at the hospital for another patient and made the effort to visit me postpartum and check in. While it may not seem like a lot to some people this was huge for me and I appreciated it beyond words. I am happy to have the best little guy in the world but starting to feel sad because I won't be seeing this team twice weekly anymore. It feels like a bittersweet break up because I have seriously bonded with them and am really going to miss my frequent conversations and time with them. While I don't want to be pregnant again it would give me the excuse to see some of the best humans I've ever met more frequently. All the medical assistants were also amazing and so kind with all my pregnancy nurse line questions. They always made my questions feel relevant and I never felt stupid. read more

I don't leave reviews but in this case I felt I had a duty to assure others will not have the same experience and waste time and resources. I did want to love this place but unfortunately it was a really bad experience. I just read some of their reviews and I wish I had read them before I made appointment. Overall this establishment is run poorly and they are not transparent. This is summary of some of the issue I had with them: 1- I called in April this year to schedule time for female routine examination/test as well as hormone consult. They asked that we separate the topic for 2 sessions which I agreed. they were all bubbly when they were scheduling it. They took my insurance info as well. appointment scheduled for early May. 2- Later on when I called in to confirm, they were confused about what we are covering in the upcoming first and only appointment I had and the front desk said she has no idea what her colleagues had discussed with me and I just need to come in and figure it out. 3- Early May I went to my appointment and they told me the Mid wife was not there and had to deliver a baby. They asked me to come the following Monday. 4- The following Monday, I went in and I was told that the Midwife is again not there and went to deliver another baby. They said they could schedule me for a date about 1.5 months from then, which I agreed. 5- On the third try, just before I go in, they tell me: Oh we are mid wives and your insurance may not cover us. I wondered why they had not brought it up sooner since they had my insurance information. I still went in since I was there and I had waited and invested considerable time at that point. 6- The meeting with the Midwife was ok, she gave me a list of generic tests for female hormones and asked I return to review the test results. I got the test results done and meanwhile it was clear from my insurance that they wont consider this practice as eligible, I got an invoice for about $270 dollars for getting prescribed a list of generic tests. I paid the amount promptly to this practice. 7- At some point I called in to ask if they had a copy of my tests and they did not, clearly she just signed the sheet and gave it to me. It is not like a normal practice that they keep records. 8- After I got my test results, I did not see one of the items that was supposed to be there and it is on their regular test list. Apparently, the midwife I saw forgot to mark it. 9 - Now that I had the test results, I thought at least I get an idea of the results and close the loop, although the experience has be subpar and I knew I had to pay for this from pocked and it would not even go towards my deductibles . I called it and asked for an appointment and they gave me a time for a Friday. 7- Friday comes and 2 hours before the appointment they leave a a voice message to tell me that the midwife went to deliver a baby. and that I could come in the following week, and if not then it would be a while. The option they mentioned did not work for me. They had asked me to call them the very same day. When you call, their office it says they are closed on Fridays. I left VM for both the nurse line and the front desk, no response. Then I received an email that I had an appointment set for the day that they had suggested on the VM. I was concerned it would be too late to cancel and I would get charges since I could not attend. I finally was able to cancel that date. 8- So here I am early August and I am where I was - with time lost and money spent with no use - I ended up making an appointment with a professional Women's clinic with a highly capable OB-GYN and it was easy and seems-less and most importantly I know she will be there when I go in. read more

Do not go here. I wanted to love this place has a woman's health clinic. I waited over an hour for my appointment, which I got to 10 minutes early all prepared for. I ended up leaving since I had to go to work without being seen. They did not seem to care. No one said anything to me about my wait or offered an explanation. I really wanted to stay at this practice and hesitated writing a review, but feel ultimately if patients are not aware for their safety, it could lead to some serious concerns that could become big issues. This review will cover the OB prenatal portion of the practice. I did not have concerns while seen for GYN. This covers the 2 CNMs as Dr Hayes has retired last year. This group is a caring group of women who are so kind. I don't want to go into a lot of things here because I did enjoy their practice until there were some pretty big red flags. First- A group should be united in front of a patient with their approaches to health. Sure, there are differences in personalities and opinions, but as CNMs who share a patient on rotation, to have huge opinion differences which pull the patient in polar oposite decisions makes it very difficult to trust either of them. Also, making a practice decision to put someone on hormones without testing their initial levels, ignoring a history of some pretty intense things that could flare with this decision, and then putting them on a level that is double what other doctors recommended ( if needed, and if a history of IVF or miscarriage- both of which were not my history ) is absolutely absurd. Split opinions in front of the patient using fear to keep the patient on the drug despite severe toxicity reactions- it's just not good. I am still dealing with this poor decision. Add missed bloodwork issues on results and a lack of communication because it was "normal" and being treated as a liability vs a patient- it just destroyed any trust that had been present. It's not a good feeling to feel that you have to constantly second guess your doctors due to huge directional differences of opinions, incorrect information and direction, and a gut feeling that things are not right here. I received 2nd and 3rd opinions from other doctors to confirm what my gut was telling me. Again, the nicest group of caring women. I just doubt they have the accountability and experience to run a practice. I had to leave when I had also heard of a neighbor who had been there being incorrectly diagnosed with placenta previa and being called days later apologizing for the mistake, as her bloodwork was mixed with another patient. I feel they need some things in place to fix these things immediately. read more

Absolutely horrible. I've been here 3x - 2 annuals and one BC issue. Dr. Hayes was the worst - glad she retired, but the staff left is no better. I haven't gotten a pap in 3 years because they didn't want to do it what happened to preventive measures? But they will push ALL vaxxs down your throat. In addition they billed my insurance 8 months after my visit, without my consent and billed me for $180. Do not recommend and specifically don't recommend for those left in Colorado who lean with RIGHT views. read more

From my first visit to labor and delivery, these women made me feel supported, secured, and comfortable every step of the way. Like your favorite aunt or mom helping you through this journey. Dr.Hayes was my OB, she helped us deliver our first baby in July 2020. She was nothing short of amazing. I found Dr. Hayes to always but straight shooting with me and to the point (which I loved). She let me ask all the questions I wanted and that was a lot as a first time mom. Dr.Hayes was always patient and understanding. I also really liked knowing that when the time came it would either be Dr.Hayes or the midwife Jessica (also super amazing and very personable) that would delivering our baby. Some of the other clinics in town you are playing roulette on who will be in the delivery room with you. I will absolutely be going back for any additional children. read more

I was in denial of how bad my experience was because everyone is so nice. I forgot which dr I had, but she made me feel so cared for, especially when I was leaving to travel for a few years and she said she knew how hard it was to find a gyno so I could always call her with questions. However, this is where I got my IUD done and it is the worst medical experience I've had. They placed it initially, then stated they had to take it out because they were unsure if my uterus was just short or if they were hitting a curve. So they took it out and did an ultrasound-- my uterus was just short so they put it back in. To have it inserted twice was incredibly painful and I got home and blacked out in my bed and woke up the next morning. Some time goes by and I'm have abnormal pain on one side. I tell them this, they do an ultra sound, and they say the pain is normal because it's my "natural period" because I got the copper one and the IUD is placed correctly... 2 years later I still have incredibly abnormal bleeding and pain. I call and tell them this and they say it's just my natural period. So I go another year. Finally, I go to a new gyno in a new state and the IUD is misplaced and is embedded in my uterus' muscle. So now I have gone through YEARS of pain and abnormal bleeding and have to go through getting this thing out read more

By far the most amazing OB, a midwife and nursing staff I have ever been too. I came to this place scared and paranoid. I had a previous miscarriage 5 years prior and now I found myself pregnant again thinking it was going to be impossible. These women have gone above and beyond to make me and my husband feel comfortable and at ease with this pregnancy. Suffering from a previous miscarriage is traumatizing to anyone and they knew exactly how to approach me and help me. I am now 19 weeks pregnant and couldn't be more excited and happy. I fully depend on this clinic and love it so much. All the nurses and doctors are professional and so beyond caring! I highly recommend this place! read more

Dr. Hayes is the best doctor I have encountered. She is your greatest advocate when it comes to important medical decisions and she won't stop until she finds an answer that's best for you. I highly recommend this place for anybody seeking prenatal care. After my miscarriage, too, they weren't all just about the medical side of things. These other reviews do not reflect my experience at all with Womans Place. So, I'm confused why my experience differs so much. Started with paperwork asking me my sexual orientation, hetero, bi, homo, how long have I been sexually active with partner and active with anyone else in the last year, how many partners and how many in your lifetime. My visit did not have anything to do with these questions. I told reception I was not comfortable answering these questions and was told if I did not answer them, I would not be seen. I have no problem answering questions suitable for my visit. I think they need to edit requested info. for people who value privacy and older patients who may not feel comfortable responding to these types of questions. My time with Dr. Hayes ended with a sales pitch for therapeutic oil. I do like oils, however, that was probably not the best option she could have offered. I left feel very disappointed and let down for no help from her and office staff lack of friendliness. This was another let down from the medical establishment. It just seems to be a money sucker. As for me, I have very little faith in the state of the medical community. I am sure lives are saved but overall, my expectations are very low. I came here after another practice I went to didn't do cervical cap fittings. I had to find out who did them, because apparently this is one of the few, if not the only, practices where you can get fitted for them. I wanted off my hormonal birth control, and was not hip to the idea of inserting a piece of copper-wrapped plastic into my cervix, nor the potential complications and (infertility!) that could potentially come along with it. I was told to call city drug to see if they could get it, and they could, and referred me to Dr. Hayes. I made an appointment and got in quickly with the midwife (same week). An hour or two after my appointment was over, I called city drug to see if they got it (was sent electronically) and if they could place the order. They said they didn't get it, so I went back to a woman's place to pick up a hard copy and get it from the manufacturer since city drug wasn't willing to file it with my insurance (which covers it 100%). They were closed, but I was given the after hours number. Dr Hayes called me back within 15 minutes, and was able to get the RX emailed to me within 15 or minutes. I was then able to place the order with the manufacturer before the weekend. I appreciate her willingness to be so flexible and get me the RX so soon so I didn't have to wait until Monday. read more

I have been seeing Karen Hayes at A Woman's Place in Fort Collins for over 10 years now. She is the most caring and THOROUGH gynecologist I have ever seen. She spends as long with me as I need for every single question to be answered. She has held my hand through an abnormal pap smear and the follow up treatment (a Cryocautery), and made the whole thing both painless physically, but more importantly, assuaged my fears and self-judgment. She recommended me for genetic testing when I needed it, and her office has "fought" my insurance company to get certain things covered that I required, such as a Breast MRI. I have sent numerous people over the years, and just can't say enough. read more

The entire team at A Womans Place have been the best I could ask for! They know me, they remember me, and I honestly feel like they care about me. I've had two children through this team and I would not choose anyone else for my care. The midwives, Jen and Carrie, offer that personalized experience and were there for me every step of the way. The nursing staff are like family and would even scold me if I didn't bring my daughter in to see them while I was going there during my second pregnancy! :) Dr. Hayes is very knowledgeable and she makes it important to explain things to you so you don't go into things unknowingly. She's also that voice of calm helping you just breathe through it when you need it most. I would literally trust her hands with my life. If you are new to the area or new to being a mom and unsure where to turn, give these ladies a shot! They will have your best interests at heart and will listen to what you ask. They will help educate you and make sure you know all your options before going into things. And most importantly they will treat YOU not your file. read more

I can't describe in words how much I love this practice and everyone in it. They treat their patients like family. I am forever grateful for the treatment and care I received from Dr. Hayes, Jenn, and the entire staff. My husband and I moved back to Ft. Collins when we found out that we were pregnant with our first baby. I was really saddened and disappointed when we started with another (much larger) clinic in town. I felt like a number. When I was pregnant with my second, I had more time to research and talk with others in town. I am so grateful that I did! I ended up with terrible complications during my second delivery and I am so incredibly grateful that Dr. Hayes & Jenn were next to me every step of the way. The care and love that this practice shows to their patients is amazing! They actually care about the overall well-being of you (as a patient), your child, your husband/significant other, and your family. After all, having a child is life-changing to everyone. It's so important to have someone that cares as much about your overall health as you do. Dr. Hayes is also incredibly smart in her field. There was never a time that I asked a question where she didn't give me multiple studies that supported her answer. I love this! Healthcare is always changing, and she takes it all incredibly seriously. She & Jenn are both passionate about their jobs and the people they care for (as are all the nurses there). Karen Hayes came highly recommended by a friend for prenatal care, and the first few visits went well (Jen Allen, the midwife, is amazing). Week 20 was when the doctors demeanor began to change. She was overly critical of my weight gain (which was within normal limits), she would routinely speak over me rudely and often with a condescending tone. When her "nurse" (I'm not sure if she was a LPN/RN or not) quit/was fired, she brought in her receptionist (Paige) and started referring to her as a nurse, when really she was a un-certified/un-trained MA (medical assistant). Paige was unprofessional on the phone, and had little to no knowledge about medication or current studies being conducted on autism research (the subject of one such call). When I pressed for less interaction with the receptionist-turned-MA, Dr. Hayes released me from care just shy of my third trimester. The office staff is terrible, when I asked for a copy of my medical records, I was met with rude comments and glares from the admin staff. One woman seems to do all the work while 8 others stand around and chat. Hayes is VERY religious, which I don't usually care about, but there is scripture plastered all over her office, and a pro-life charity bucket at the front desk. The office is shared by a cosmetic company (think hair removal/botox), and their flyers are everywhere, even in the bathroom. I was very disappointed and would encourage any pregnant woman to seek medical care elsewhere. read more
