The manager and the other staff member we're having an obvious social visit. The cashier, Sherry entered the office area and requested assistance because there was a line of people waiting, and I needed assistance getting a fan down from a high shelf that was only reachable by a ladder. Her request was plainly ignored. And she proceeded to wait on the customers and then go out, while others waited in line, and climbed up on a ladder and reached for a fan that was still too high for her to reach, in order to get the item I requested. I specifically asked the manager if she worked there at the store because I was confussed as to why she was not helping, or even acknowledging her coworker / employee, while there was a line of customers waiting, while she was socializing in her office. It did not leave a good impression on me at all. Not sure how DG does their management but human compassion and just basic respect should be established and practiced by the management towards not only the employees but the customers who are standing their waiting and listening to someone's social Life issues while waiting in line... The cashier, Sherry was very sweet and worked very diligently and I felt very sorry for her. She did not deserve to be treated so rudely especially in front of customers. And the customers should not have been disregarded.

The store is well designed with wide aisles and all the glass divided by colour. There is a huge selection and the gentleman who was there when I shopped was very informed about glassware and answered my questions. Overall, I was very pleased. My only suggestion would be that they keep boxes and wrapping paper/bubble wrap/styrofoam peanuts on hand for packing purchases.

I bought three different flavors - their equivalents of Zyrtec, Allegra and Claritin - figuring that if one wouldn't knock this down, another would. The store was well stocked and they were restocking the candy aisle when I was here. I wasn't able to find my wife's favorite licorice but we did find some other snacks.
