I stopped in one downtown district shop crawl and was instantly greeted by the shop owner, Jan. What a wonderful lady! I loved the shop. A couple Iowa-centric items, lots of beautiful decor, paintings, furniture-- all carefully curated. I begrudgingly left that night empty handed. (A lot of the items on my radar were not surprisingly pricey. I unfortunately tend to have expensive taste. And this shop definitely has some higher end items.) Then, last week, I realized they sell items ONLINE with free contactless local delivery. *Happy Dance* I'm not sure if you've perused the Northside? But currently an entire street is closed to outside dining which is amazing, but does the parking situation no favors. ANYWAYS. The online shop was filled with candles, tea towels, furniture, pillows, vases, rugs, artwork... the whole gambit. I found an amazing photo of the pedestrian mall in the rain. I couldn't resist. My treasure was well priced. Jan emailed me personally that night to set up next day delivery. I found my package neatly put between my doors, packed with care. The cherry on top was a handwritten note from the shop owner. The picture is perfection. I haven't used Luxe for interior design purposes. (And due to my frequent HGTV watching and inherent designing expertise, let's face it. I probably won't anytime soon. ;)) But Jan is fabulous, the shop has tons of flair. Fraud is a word I would use to describe how this business is run. We engaged with the owner in…read moreApril, placed an order on July 6th for $17,000. We left a $10,000 deposit. In August, we received another email with an invoice for $2,100 as she had received items in her warehouse which we paid. The owner failed to keep us posted on timelines and deliveries which we were supposed to have in September (after paying for items in August). Our delivery was scheduled for October 22 when I got a call that the truck had been in an accident and all of our pieces were damaged and she would have to reorder. She did not offer a refund. Months later, she delivers $6,000 worth of the items. That was the end of it. I finally called and demanded a refund which they processed (has not reached my card yet). I come to find out that 1) No one at Luxe Interiors ever heard anything about an accident and 2) the order for one sofa was never placed and the other order was placed then cancelled back in December. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THESE LYING CRIMINALS!

I went to Rue 21 to return some knit tights that I bought 4 days earlier because i wore one pair…read morefor 2 hours and they were falling apart at the seams and upon closer inspection I saw holes throughout. The associated explained to me very rudely that she would not return these b/c I was the one that made the holes, they are one size fits all and sometimes they pull apart when stretched too much. She was basically insinuating I was too large to for the tights (I am 5'7" size 6) She was closer to 5'4" size 10-12, I asked to speak to the manager, she happily informed me she was in fact the manager. She went on to explain that if she were to return these she was get fired.... I am pretty sure they do not have that strict of a policy based on their decision in management. I read the receipt to her where is stated you can return merchandise within 30 days of purchase, she said we would never sell tights like this, therefore they are not in the same condition you purchased them in so i cannot do the return, credit or exchange. She was snarky and it became very evident that we were getting nowhere with this. To sum this up I will not ever shop at Rue 21 again and I will advise all that I know to do the same.

Absolute worst experience and will never go back!…read more My daughter and I both had smoothies. My daughter moved her mask down to take a drink. I asked her a question and just then an employee Erica yelled at her to put her mask back on. I was less than a foot away from my child and she had her mask down for less than 30 seconds. We also were the only ones in the store at the time. When checking out, I addressed my issue with how the matter was handled with Erica. She first stated that food and drink was not allowed in the store. No where is that posted. She said she's asked her manager for signs and none have been provided. The customers are not required to know a store policy when it's never been posted. Further, I addressed the manner in which my daughter was approached. There was never an apology. Instead, Erica gave the impression that she'd rather not be there. I own three businesses and would never allow my employees to treat a customer so poorly. If you don't like your job, find a different one! I'll never go to this hot topic again. Good thing the Cedar Rapids store is still open.

However, as soon as I walked into the finish line store, I was immediately helped by the worker Keilly, who helped me find a great size. They don't carry women's sizes but she said a men's size would fit as well. When they didn't have a small enough men's size, she recommend the kids size which is perfect and saved me $40. Great place to shop with amazing, smart, and helpful staff.

Went in the store today and tried to use a gift card for $50 which was purchased in this store by a…read morefamily member as a gift. The gift card was declined, but luckily I had the receipt with the gift card which verified the purchase. The store associate and the store manager said there was nothing they could do to help, but to call corporate. After calling corporate, I was informed the gift card was used in another state across the country. I don't understand how this could happen! I did not use the gift card, and the twelve digit security code was not even scratched off the card which is needed to make online purchases. The customer service in handling this situation was terrible. The store manager did not care whatsoever about the situation or in assisting in making the situation right. She had an attitude and treated myself and my brother as if we did something wrong. How does it happen someone can purchase a gift card and it disappear into who knows where, never to be used for its intended purpose as a gift? How is it appropriate or good customer service to not care to help or make it right for the customer, both in the store and through the corporate office? I will never go back to shop at this store nor will I recommend the store to anyone looking to shop for athletic shoes.

We stopped in this location because a family member wanted to. Again, the Saturday BEFORE Christmas. Inventory was very good and they had a ton of great items. You can't beat the book selection, $5 t-shirts, games, toys, pet supplies, home decor and so much more. We waited a good 20+ minutes to check out. There were only 2 employees working. Definitely recommend Five Below. Just wait until it isn't a major holiday weekend.

Every year we purchase my daughter some type of ornament. Last year we did purchase her the…read morekeepsake ornaments of Jack the Pumpkin King and Sally. These are interactive ornaments that when plugged in to the special cord will sing a song and have dialogue. When we gave them to her Jack did not work properly as the speaker was extremely distorted. Amy's did take the return of Jack but could not Replace him as they were sold out. (These seem to be very popular items). So we still had Sally and she would sing her song, but we were missing the interactive exchange. Fast forward to this year. We purchased Jack, to replace the one from last year, and Oggie Boogie. We plugged in Jack and he immediately greeted us with a "Merry Christmas". Plugged in Sally to listen to them sing together, and nothing. This was a little frustrating. I did contact Hallmark through chat and they would not help me out and suggested I call the store. I did call Amy's Hallmark on Collins Road. The person I spoke with was very pleasant and did not have an immediate answer but listened to the situation and asked for me to call back the next business day to speak with the manager. When I called back the next day the same employee answered the phone and remembered the conversation and had already briefed her manager. They did try to troubleshoot over the phone and asked if I would be willing to bring all the ornaments and the cord into the store so they could see exactly what was happening. When I arrived I was assisted by the same person who had been so empathetic and patient on the phone. The had the last Sally ornament pulled aside to test with a brand new cord. We were able to get all three ornaments interacting and she sent me home with the working Sally ornament and a new cord. This was above and beyond my expectations. The employee was awesome and willing to work with me. Thank you for service minded approach and for making it a "Nightmare Before Christmas" Christmas.
