I Set Up tables for a Neighborhood Community Development at Anishinabe Wakiagun When I was Fortunate enough to Hear the Key Note Speaker, Jill P. & She was Talking My Language and had My Full Attention. When She Asked the Audience, who has heard of MRC, I was the Only Hand to Raise! She asked Me to Come Visit the Office and Sign Up for Volunteering.   I should up the Very Next Morning! Monique B. Signed Me Up for Telephone Recovery Support Training, Earning a Continued Education Certificate, Allowing Me to Finally Feel Useful for the 1st Time after 26 years of Active Addiction, 2 Years of 24/7/365 of Constant Use, and over 2 years of addiction Treatment. Monique Took Me Under Her Wing Continuing My Education, Trusting Me with Responsibilities, Getting Me Out of My Comfort Zone, Speaking, Outreaching, Advocating, in Places with People Just Like Me, from Prisons, Jails, Detoxes, Drug Courts, Treatment Centers to Capitol Hill, and That is When I Realized, My "Purpose" Started to Find Me! Something I Searched for My Whole 42 Years of Living. Peer Services Was the Missing Link from Treatment to Long Term "Recovery"  Still Attending College for Addiction Counseling/Co-Occurring Mental Health Disorders, As I Started Work at MRC Part time (20 hours a week) Gradually Changing Careers at age 43 Peer Services Started to Gain Much Needed Momentum to Full Time Job (60+ hours a week) Working Under Different Grants over the Last 4+ years as a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist I was able to Trail Blaze Pathways, Starting Up & Completed 2 Separate Drug Court Contracts, (Hennepin and Ramsey County Specialty Modal Drug Courts, including DWI Courts, Homelessness Courts & Veterans Courts. 2 Year Contacts)   As MRC Started Rapidly Growing Kris Invited Me to Co-Facilitate the Recovery Coach Academy's. Then, She Handed Me a Chance of a Lifetime for a 1st of Kicking Her Feet with Un-Limiting Sources of Energy, Accomplishing Amazing Progress, Completing Goals, and Raising the Bar Higher. Location was inconvenient for me as it was a 45 minute drive, but the friendly and helpful staff, combined with their large and beautiful facilities made it worthwhile. Second Harvest Heartland was easy to work with. Their online reservation system made it easy to see which time slots could accommodate us. We were even able to use their large meeting room space to host a 2 hour lunch and networking event prior to our volunteering session. The large room included 2 screens for projecting presentations from your laptop, sound system with microphone and a strong and free WiFi. All of this was of great value to our group! As one of the leaders of Asian Professionals Alliance in MN (APAM), we brought together 70 volunteers from across APAM member companies: 3M, Best Buy, Cargill, General Mills, Medtronic, Target & US Bank. Not only was this venue large enough to accommodate our large group, they were so organized, gave us great instruction and constantly kept the workplace clean, comfortable. They had 6 computers at the entrance for each individual to register for the event. Half of our group boxed care packages for senior citizens while the other half worked to inspect and package 40 pound bags of potatoes for food shelves across the country. My favorite part is that they share the results of your volunteer efforts at the end of your shift. I would absolutely recommend this place for volunteering sessions - for individuals, small groups and large groups!

If anything it would be easier but no she no heart at all for having no food to feed my dog plus having to ride my bike 5mile in the rain to get there as I told her you would think they would help but no I left with nothing but hert feelings and a little angry who ever the manager is at the pets and people food bank over south needs some compassion and to donate her time somewhere else she doesn't have the compassion to work at a place where people are in need she sees herself above everyone who comes in there

Great local hang out that supports many wonderful charities…read more Great people, great food, and fun atmosphere. They have a fantastic fish fry on Friday nights (seasonal). Thursday nights is a steak fry, they have a great strip or filet. There are many other options, but I always seem to get the steak. Sunday they have a great brunch, many times they will have football specials. The Elks host many events such as the Raspberry Festival. They have a food tent, music, drinks, and bingo! Oktoberfest is another fun event. You can also rent a party room and bartenders for a your own event. The best part is they pour a mean drink!

The staff was so friendly everyday they would ask how my son is doing and how we are doing as parents. The meals were pretty great as well considering the hospital food isn't always an option. They have a pantry where you can cook things as well. Ronald McDonald House has such a huge part of my heart. The events they have are also amazing to keep your mind off the situation for a while like virtual bingo although I did not participate but it was great seeing they had options. Years later, I am always calling to donate things they need. My son who is almost 3 is now excited to help give back.

THATS ABSOLUTELY NOT OKAY. this happened on a college campus where they're are often a lot of drunk drivers and there's a river not too far away. this is absolutely ridiculous. saying i'm LIVID IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT. there was another girl outside and she said she works there and that the doors are usually locked so unless someone left the door open this shouldn't have happened. there's also a receptionist that sits at the front which means she was not doing her job and being attentive. ABSOLUTELY NOT OKAY!!

I volunteer for meals on wheels on most major holidays. I can't vouch for the food as I've never…read moretried it but it smells pretty good and all the people that receive the meals seems to enjoy them. I can attest to the great feeling I get when I deliver the meals and how easy the coordinators make it for one to volunteer. The food delivery only takes about 1.5 hours, 2 hours tops. The reward way outweighs the effort! I would highly recommend this organization to give some of your time to.
