I moved away from the Cleburne area about 1 1/2 years ago and Family Nutrition Center is greatly missed. I hope people living in the area know what a privilege is theirs to have this store. I miss Family Nut so much! There's a huge variety of almost anything you could look for in a health related store. I've seen some people here mention high prices, but compare any item to anywhere else, and I think you will find that Family Nut is cheaper. I've always been helped by anyone I've asked. I'm living where there is one small store (it could fit inside Family's hyperbaric room) devoted to healthy items and the prices are through the roof! There are a couple of vegan/vegetarian restaurants about an hour from me. My husband and I tried it and I paid $60 for the two of us! Seriously, Family has so much to offer! read more

I do the majority of my weekly shopping there every Friday afternoon (before I go home and wipe out the rest of my check on bills :( Most of the employees are very sociable and well informed about the products they sell. This is my favorite health food store. I have multiple food allergies & they have a great selection of specialty items for people with food allergies as well as airborne allergies. If you have questions about ingredients, they use a computerized system to look up pertinent info for you & some employees are walking, well-educated nutrition guides on their own. There's also a wide range of supplements that have had good reviews from Consumer Labs & other testing labs. I always check the markdown section in the back of the store as well as in the cooler cases. I've been introduced to new & great items by trying the first one from the markdowns & have become a new fan of many in that way. There's a great selection of chocolate (my addiction), nutria-sweets & some unusual items from vendors. read more

I like it because it's not Whole Foods. It's a small, locally owned grocery store. But then again, it's not Whole Foods, and there's definitely some advantages to a huge health food store. Maybe 1/4 to 1/2 of the size of a Whole Foods store, this place has just about all my health store needs (at least the ones that Whole Foods generally satisfies). It does seem a little on the pricey side, but maybe not. The people are friendly and helpful. This is a 7th Day Adventist store, which means a few things. 1, it's not open on Saturdays (not actually sure about Sundays, either, though). And 2, No meat. Overall, a good local store. I am happy to have a non-chain health food store alternative. ADD: They've recently moved to a huge facility at the mall. Probably the size does now compare to Whole Foods. Not sure yet how this will affect selection, etc., but they've got much more to grow. read more

I love this place because I don't have to travel far for organic and natural items. Although somewhat pricey with select staff that are a bit rude, it provides for all my daily needs and the staff is in fact very knowledge of the products they sell. I do wish they were opened Saturday too but the store is owed by Adventists so that's understandable for regions reasons. Overall, great place to shop; I highly recommend. read more

I'm a vegetarian (but not a 7th day adventist), and they have a very nice vegetarian and organic section. Staff can be unfriendly and friendly depending on who you're dealing with. Kind of pricey, but you'll be spending just as much on gas driving to Whole Foods in Dallas from Cleburne and buying groceries. read more

I've been coming to this store ever since it opened. It's drastically improved with the present owners who turned it into a success! I was SO happy it moved into bigger quarters!! It had needed to branch out for a long time due to it's popularity!! If one is a vegan, this is the place to shop! Sure it's more expensive than the local food chain, but it's worth it to find all the needed items for your vegetarian dish. It has now even more items than it had in it's original building. My problem is I end up spending too much money & I learned to pay my bills first before I shop there! The smoothie bar is great! Try the energizer bunny! There is fish now. As for meat, have not seen any. There is a place for various dry goods. Vitamins galore! Tod Ramsey does a great upper body massage on certain days. It's open on Sunday's but closed on Saturday. I wanted to suggest to the friendly staff to have pick up orders. Just call ahead tp place your order & it will be there when u get there! Especially since the place is as large as Walmart & they don't provide electric scooters to us "challenged" folk! read more

I went to this store when I lived in Joshua. Upon moving to California, I've continued to mail order. And in Fresno, there's nothing to compare to Family Nutrition, especially the prices! They're totally knowledgeable, and have excellent, high quality products. I work with the same person, and often don't know what I'm looking for, and he's knowledgeable, and he never, never pushes the high priced items, nor anything, just for a sale, and I never end up with something I don't need. read more

I moved to Cleburne about 18 months ago and was making the trek to Arlington to shop at Whole Foods, primarily for vitamins and bulk products. My chiropractor suggested a supplement and Family Nutrition Center. Wow, was I surprised! No, it is not Whole Foods (no meat, no wine, no bakery or deli) but FNC has a much wider selection of vitamins and supplements and a MUCH more knowledgeable staff. Their bulk products meet my needs and the produce is awesome. They have a decent selection of toiletries and gift items. The store is clean and spacious. I've never had an issue with the staff being rude or unhelpful. I've always experienced professional courtesy and knowledge. read more
