It is actually moderately interesting. Named after Captain William Herndon, a Navy guy who was responsbile fo the US latin American strategy in the first half of the 19th Century and who went down with his ship - and a pile of bullion - in 1857. Thwe toe things I found mosti nteresting about the museum were a picture of Herndon taken in the mid 1960s, and there is nothing there - it could have been taken 100 years earliers - and the fact that the Hungarian prime minsiter who was expelled by the Commies in 1948 spend the rest of his life in Herndon.

This spot is near the Mount Hebron Cemetery. One marker reads, "The epitaph on his original grave marker at this site: Major General Daniel Morgan. On July 6th, 1802 in the 67th year of his age. Patriotism and valor were the prominent features of his character and the honorable services he rendered to his country during the Revolutionary War crowned him with glory and will remain in the hearts of his countrymen a perpetual monument to his memory. Congressional Gold Medal awarded to Brigadier General Daniel Morgan March 9, 1781 for his victory at the battle of Cowpens, South Carolina. January 17, 1781" A second marker lists a summary of important times in his life and there's just too much to list here. I'm thinking this is where the mini golf was located. Disappointed doesn't begins to describe our feeling when we arrived at this location. At first I was going to hype this business by telling a story about how we had a blast playing mini golf. How the experience was very Disney like, with live looking dinosaurs and other wildlife running around the course. My grandson and my imaginations ran wild with a lot of ideas to embellish the story but decided to tell it like it was, or should I say it wasn't.

I find it amusing that this is a destination. Personally, this fountain frightens me, on any given…read morewarm sunny day there are gangs of screaming children running amok within the sprays that magically shoot up out of the ground. Dozens of moms form a perimeter with their strollers and froyos blissfully unaware of the horrific shrieking noises that their offspring are inflicting on the ears of innocent shoppers. That said, if I was "blessed" with kids, I would most certainly go here, grab a froyo - make that a flask - and sit until they played themselves to exhaustion. It's brilliant for that no doubt.
