First time at this thrift store. Found it by total accident. Found several awesome pieces for awesome prices! They have everything by color and not sizes which I don't like but can get used to. They have a kind of creepy guy who was obviously their "security" because he was walking around trying to look like he was shopping but obviously wasn't. They only take cash but do have an ATM machine that charges 4$ I think. Take cash! Overall I really enjoyed the store and loved my finds. read more

there is not any good clothes here. i picked out some things but there is barely any good finds for me. everyone has different taste in clothes so dont go based off of my experience. it also was a crap place because this place does not take card, only cash. we don't carry cash around. thankfully they have a atm there inside. the cashier barely knew english. so when we tried saying something to her a bunch of times, i had to raise my voice to get her to realize we are speaking to her and asking her a question. i feel like workers should learn to know english too, not just spanish. overall, personally id never come here again. read more

So this place is definitely grungy, but it's a gem! I wish we had more large thrift shops like this. I have found designer items like Escada, Coach, J. Crew, silk blouses, nice jeans and just great things in general for like $1. All the other thrift shops up charge anything "worth" something to like $20, it's donated goods so it's just a business. I love family thrift. It's a bit dirty sometimes but anytime I'm in the lower valley I go to see what gems I can find! read more

I found some great things and can say I found about $200 worth of merchandise! The reason they don't get more stars is because the staff is super rude! I grew up in the area and attended the elementary across the way! These ladies are beyond rude! They really gotta work on their customer service and hospitality! read more

I'm a long time, 15+ year customer - the clothes are worth the trip, the customer service and only one mirror sucks. The women putting out the clothes are usually very rude and so are some customers who will shove a row and be inconsiderate. A lot of resellers will be there in the morning to basically grab anything that looks decent so be sure to go for what you're looking for first. 3 stars - clothes are priced right but customer service makes me seriously just shop and go. read more

We loved this thrift! Found a lot of cool stuff and it was pretty organized for being a thrift store. My only complaint was that they only accepted cash. There was a shady ATM machine by the registers and there was like a $4 fee to get money out. I dont know if that was just a one time thing because their system was down, or if it is always cash only. This thrift store has pretty decent prices. If you look around you can find some great deals! The kids section had some amazing brands and everything was like $1 or $2! It was pretty well organized as well. This is the first time I was shopping here and had a good experience. My big issue is that they use staples to attach the price tags to the clothing. This is a huge disappointment as it puts big holes in the fabric, even if you try to remove it carefully. About one out of every five things I purchased has these holes. Pricing guns are actually not very expensive at all and I would like to highly recommend them to the management here. Once they make the switch I will shop till I drop! Also, I brought a big bag of clothing to donate here, but I don't know if that's normal. The staff was acting kind of weird when I wanted to drop it off. I hope that it didn't get put in the garbage :/. read more

While Family Thrift Center may not have the finest quality clothes, the selection is so massive, it's hard to not find something worthwhile here. In the back, behind the children's section, they have a wall full of random crap in bags that made for a fun time digging through them looking for what I needed (an embroidery hoop). Need a bag full of doll heads? This is your place. The cashier I interacted with did not speak English, which made for an interesting interaction as one of my items did not have a clearly marked price. I don't think I came out ahead on that deal, but at least I got to practice my Spanish! read more

I like the amount of clothing they have and how they organize it by color but the people who work here are very rude. I have 2 boys 4&2 who were playing on their toys I was trying to get one of them out of the toy when the other one got in 1. I was clearly trying to get them off of the toys and corralled and the lady came up and said how they can't play on the toys. Either buy it and put it in the cart but they can't play on them. What does it look like I was trying to do?! Rude very rude I will never go back. read more

There are great items to be found at this thrift store. Mixed among the many racks of clothing are some nice brands, and they are usually priced low. I give three stars for a few reasons. First, the people working there tend to be a bit rude. There is no fitting room and only one full length mirror. They only accept cash as payment. Finally, they absolutely won't sell an item to you if the price tag is missing. My kids found a book they were excited about, but when we brought it to the register the lady said they would not sell it to us since it was missing its price tag. Other thrift stores I've been to will suggest a comparable price for items with tags missing. Disappointing, but we still found a couple good items. read more

I found so many treasures, I could not believe my eyes! I bought a lined Armani blazer, made in Italy, with tags, for 9.99. I also found a hand-sewn pair of Italian loafers, a wool poncho made in Ireland, and some teddy bears from American Outiftters. I will be planning more trips in the near future. I am keeping this place close to the vest. ;) read more

Have experienced more pleasant thrift stores with cooler staff working there, because the manager and register older ladies here treat people like cattle. But I do love the book section because I stock up with very little cash both on adult and children's bestseller books. On my most recent trip I had picked out my items and was going to use the ATM fifteen minutes before store was closing when the manager man tells me its out of order and tells me nothing can be done about holding any of my 6 unique and matching items. There's no sign on the machine because if there had been I would have gladly gone outside to some other establishment's atm to get cash. The manager is always called for issues at the register and has the easiest job of ruling with an iron hand against the customer. Friendly customer service is something non-existent here except for maybe a few of the younger employees. You do find some great finds here, it's fun and inexpensive. It's fairly well organized so I'm cautious when associating with the people there and make sure to hold my common sensical ground. read more

I've been going to this thrift store for sometime now and let me tell you the stocker there is a young guy with short hair that always looks dirty and smells bad. I don't know If he is working for free or What Cuz sometimes he is outside asking for money. Also idk why the manager will always threat you like thiefs, I understand that some people guys go there and try to steal but some of us just go looking for cool vintage items or cool stuff. read more

No dressing rooms!! Cash only, no returns or exchanges. I would have bought more if I knew things fit. I was specifically looking for jeans, and they ranged from 1.99 to 12.99. It's relatively clean, things are nicely arranged, it's a pretty big store... but what a crap shoot when you can only hold things up in front of a mirror! There are plenty of nice big thrifts in El Paso, I'll pass on this on in the future. Oh, and no public bathrooms. read more

I got a T shirt and a pair of cool vintage Wrangler jeans for $2.14. There's no dressing rooms, however, and the friendly staff said I couldn't try anything on in the bathroom, which was surprisingly clean. I only got to shop for about 20 minutes until the store closed and they shut off the lights. Given more time, I bet I could have found more treasures. read more

This place was awful. It smelled like poop (not a complete review buster, it's a thrift store) but it was complete trash. I was actually worried about picking up cooties while I was in there. There prices were cheap but everything, I repeat everything was in poor condition. I was also fairly worried my car was going to get stolen, also after leaving I got to go through a registration check point, that was awesome. Thanks Texas. read more

They have nice finds here. I've come here 3 times. Bought a cool halloween costume too (wayne from Wayne's World ;) ) They also have records (im a huge record fanatic) but they only have orchestra music :/ i would give this place 4 stars but everytime i buy clothes from that place, it take 2-3 washes to get the old hotel room smell out of it. Oh, and there is a younger man that works there, whenever he hands me his change he stares at my chest, or holds my hand when giving me my receipt , very uncomfortable experience for me. one of the redeeming factors of living in a small and/or boring city is the abundance of fine thrift store shopping. this place has always turned up something. given the sheeer massiveness of the place, you are hard bent not to find something. my friend found a farfissa here for twenty bucks. what's the deal with the utter lack of thrift stores in germany...oh how i miss you family thrift. as a bonus, there's a little grocery store next door to family thrift that has excellent aguas frescas! so there. read more
