Several years ago, this company came to my house to bid a job. The price was outrageous, but I was in a bind, so I agreed to it (my fault). I wasn't home when they did the job. The tree hung over my lawn. When I came home, there were a dozen or more large gouges in my lawn. Apparently, they just dropped the branches onto the lawn, rather than lowering the pieces or placing a sheet of plywood in the drop zone (to protect the lawn). I highly recommend AGAINST using this company. read more

Don't waste your time with this guy, 'cause that's what you'll be doing ! We have a 300 YR. OLD oak that was leaning, so with winter coming it was urgent to lighten one side. He made 4 appts.,never showed, never called to reschedule or anything. This was not to be an extensive job - maybe 2 hrs. Slam dunk for hundreds of $$. Well, after the 4th try we blew him off, went to another trimmer and were put off another 6 wks, until Jan 2 . . . even with them knowing the urgency. The first time I met Bob he was parking in front of the house to do some work at my neighbors house. I thought he was the painter who was supposed to be at my house and was 30 minutes late! I walked outside directed him into my house and walked him upstairs to quote me on painting the rooms. He smiled and said, "I'm here to to trim your neighbors trees." I was so embarrassed! I ended up calling him to come and work on my trees at a later date. He was on time, on task, quick, professional and friendly. You finally get ahold of them only because you are leaving a message to let them know how dissatisfied you are and the wife picks up...being extremely rude! Beautiful work, our 150-200 year old oak tree looks gorgeous and healthy; they were careful to protect our fence during the process to prevent its being damaged, and even moved an old picnic table out of the way so it wouldn't be hurt, too. Very unprofessional company, if I could give a zero I would. I contacted company for tree trimming. They came out very quickly and offered a very reasonable estimate for the amount of work needed. On the agreed upon day, Bob arrived and asked me to remind him what we had agreed to do. He stated that he had to go to his truck and would be right back. I waited for him to return, and then realized that he had actually left. I called and left a message, asking what happened, would we be rescheduling? There has been no return call. It is difficult for me to understand how a company can be so unprofessional with a customer. After reading other reviews, I encourage others to call someone else. read more

Don't bother with this guy. Found him in one of the coupon magazines that you find in the mailbox. He came out, gave an estimate, and didn't show up. Scheduled three or four times for him to come out. We called him so many times. It finally took calling from a different number, pretending to be interested in a quote, for him to return the call. We scheduled the last appointment with him, and he "forgot" about it. Get a calendar, dude!! Why advertise your services if you're not going to do the business that comes from it? Gesh! So, we ended up having to get someone else, and by then, the trees were starting to blossom, and weren't dormant anymore. Very unprofessional. read more

A limb from our tree on our rural property fell across a common access road on a Sunday. I was not aware of this until a tenant phoned to say someone was cutting this to allow flow of traffic. I contacted this service and told them they could bill me. Little did I know that I would end up paying $3500. This did not include any cleanup. The bill was emailed me the same day and I paid the following day. I made arrangements for the clearing of the brush with someone else who was happy to remove for the wood (no charge) and I emailed this information to the tree service on Thursday at 7:30 a.m. 24 hours later the wife called to say she had just sent out a crew Friday a.m. for cleanup and would bill me for this. I told her we never authorized this when she became vicious and called me an A**H***. and hung up on us. We feel that they took advantage of us in the first place by overcharging but as good neighbors we paid them their asking price. read more

Took four bids for a birch tree removal. All but one were within $75. The outlier was almost double. We went with Family Tree and could not be happier. Bob did Exactly what he said he would, and was able to do it the NEXT day. The cleanup was terrific and the place looks waaay better than before Bob and his crew got here. Got a bid to trim four Palm trees. I accepted the bid and called to schedule. A day/time was scheduled, but the day came and went and no one showed up. I called and left a message that was not responded to. I called again and got the wife. She said she'd talk to her husband to find out what happened, why he didn't show up. Finally, I got a call back from the wife, who stated that her husband said he would not trim the Palm trees until we sprayed it for bugs. These trees are over 20 feet tall. I'm not sure how we were supposed to climb the tree and spray the whole trunk before his arrival... We called back and asked for suggestions... NEVER a return call to us was made. At this point, we gave up on this guy and decided he handled business unethically and unprofessionally and it was a blessing to know this before we actually had him do any work.
