I waited a week hoping that I might feel better about the job they did, but every time I look at the way they hacked up the trees in my front yard I feel rage and sadness. We had 3 large Liquidambar trees in the front yard. My husband asked that they trim branches away from the street light/ power lines, and that they trim some of the lower branches. They cut and cut and cut. When I asked why they cut so much, I got told "your husband told us too". No, he didn't. Now I have what looks like 3 phone poles with some stuff on top. My shade is gone. The trees look like crap. And everyone at the company just told me, "don't worry, it will grow back". No it won't. Branches are gone. My father was in the nursery business for 50 years, he's never seen anything like it. It looks BAD. Once again, Bunyon Bros. comes through in a somewhat difficult situation! Several overgrown, poorly tended trees, at least 1 presenting a fire danger, on a neighboring property (with 3 of them encroaching over our property line) were contracted by the neighbor to be addressed by a tree service. The neighbor knew our concerns re: properly taking care of the trees, but also removing the encroachment, and our concern that this be completed before fireworks season around 4th July due to increased fire concerns. We were extremely pleased to see that it was Bunyon Bros arriving early morning at their property and I went out to show crew where they could enter our backyard as needed and show ground crew lead how much encroachment of large oak needed to be removed. Shockingly, he told me they were instructed only to thin the inner branches of this huge overgrown oak tree and not do ANY shaping or reduction of the exterior canopy of the tree! Clearly, we needed to have the encroachment trim done at our own expense whether the rest of the tree was shaped properly as it should be that day, or not. Thanks to the established relationships with Bunyon Bros from 2018 and all the attention my previous Yelp review gained, and their incredible professionalism, I was fairly confident we could get encroachment issue addressed promptly same day since crew and equipment were already there. A phone call, quick explanation, an on-site assessment within the hour by Shaun, estimate email and approval within minutes of that and crew completed everything to our satisfaction in 1 hour's time! And, they were incredibly nice about it, too. It's been my experience that people usually are very nice when they know they're doing the right thing at the right time and it's appreciated! Ron came out to assess my needs quickly after I sent a quote request on Yelp. He was very friendly and was able to quickly assess and give me options for service. The price seemed fair so I booked them to come out to remove my tree. I will say the follow-up communication for scheduling the job could use some improvement, but we were able to nail down a day and they came out and removed my tree without issue. A few years ago I hired a tree trimming company (see my past reviews) and they were terrible, so I was very nervous about hiring a tree service again. Bill came and met with me to go over my needs and I decided to book one day of service. They were super busy so it took a while to actually get on the schedule, but Bill was excellent about keeping in touch and updating me. It's not cheap, but they bring 4 guys and 2 trucks and a chipper. I have a beautiful cork oak that hadn't been trimmed in at least 5 years if not longer. They did an incredible job on it and they also trimmed some almond trees and eucalyptus. They were very skilled and artistic about it - clearing out the dead wood and any branches that risked falling. They also took down a huge eucalyptus tree with amazing skill. Then they chopped everything and left me the chips. As well, the cleaned up the debris as much as possible and used a blower to get rid of fallen leaves. Overall a great service. I look forward to hiring them again next year for another day or two of service. read more

First off - I'm not the customer. Crew 4 was outside my big window and I watched them over the past 2 hours as they expertly removed a tricky, 25' tall yucca tree from my neighbor's side yard. The tools, the coordination, the teamwork - all of it was top rate and choreographed like a dance by masters of their trade. Having a tree removed, in my opinion, is right up towards the top of the list of things you shouldn't decide on by the price of the lowest bid. Like I said, I don't know how much this cost - wasn't my job - but I can tell you I've seen a lot of trees removed and when the time comes to have one removed, I'll be calling this crew. It was a young tree and Crew 4 did an excellent job of sculpting and artistically thinning and trimming the tree to my satisfaction. Bill, the Certified Arborist, came out multiple times to adjust the quote since I changed my mind on what I wanted done. We had a pretty technical job and I had three companies come out to advise us on how to get a specific tree out. Due to the storms in the beginning of this year, a Century Plant in my back yard grew as tall as a Palm tree. I also had trouble with neighbor's over grown eucalyptus branches as well. It was too little of a job to hire Tree service and too big for a yard person. One of my neighbor was hiring Bunyon Bros., so I went to ask questions. The team contacted Ron, the owner right away. Within 3hr. he showed up at my door( in time!). He had great knowledge and understood my needs and gave me a fair estimate. We've lived in a wooded area for nearly 30 years & can always count on Bunyon Brothers when we need them. We recently had a huge oak go down with parts of it wedged into another tree. It also blocked the walkway to the front door. I called Bill on a Sunday afternoon & he was there the next day. we had four palm trees and a large birch tree pruned today. since I've had less than pleasing experiences with tree pruners in the past, I made sure I was outside supervising their work the entire time.
