Located in Markham, this theatre is easily accessible from Toronto, lots of free parking, and extremely polite and helpful staff! There is a small concession stand where you can purchase coffee/drinks - both alcoholic and non alcoholic, with some seating to enjoy your sips before the show . The theatres themselves are a decent size, but the draw is that no matter where you sit...you have a a great view of the stage or screen. There literally is not a bad seat in the house! I like this theatre because it often shows interesting and more unique performances. You probably aren't going to find these elsewhere so it's always a good idea to check out their website to see what they have going on. It reminds me a bit of the Soulpepper theatre in the Distillery District if one wants a rough comparison.

We loved every minute of it. They have QR codes you can scan to hear the music to accompany the art (so bring your phone). The only room for improvement would be to put the QR codes to the left of the art pieces so you can listen to it while you're passing by the art connected with the music). The artist did such a beautiful job! So many details and it was so neat to see places you have passed a million times made of paper. The kaleidoscopes were very pretty and a fun touch. I highly suggest checking this very covid friendly event out.

The space is intimate, with great sightlines and acoustics, making every seat feel close to the action. The staff are friendly and the building is clean and easy to navigate. It's a great spot for a night out without the downtown crowds, and they host a wide range of events throughout the year. There are parking spots available in the back of the building with 2-hour parking limit.

The box office is on the left upon entering the building. There's also coat check and a small concession stand on the opposite side. The lobby is a spacious couple of stories with art hung on the wall. Each piece of art has a tag associated with it that informs you of the artist, title of artwork, medium, price and size. There were ushers ready to answer any questions and direct audience members scattered throughout the lobby. I saw second row from the stage on the left. It's nice to be close but you have to look up since the stage is higher. Also, the speakers are right in front of you so protect your eardrums with earplugs or sound isolating earphones. There is a gradient to the seating so that should help with everyone being able to see the stage. There is balcony seating with seats extending all the way to the front along both sides.

You must make a reservation (online or by phone). It's about $82 per adult at the time of posting. Green P parking is available behind the restaurant, but it's paid (I went on a Sunday and it was $15 flat rate). It's a short walk to the front entrance (about 3 min). I strongly recommend you come early, because it's first come first served. The earlier you arrive, the closer to the stage your seat is. Once you're inside, you have to check in with the hosts and pick up your team crowns. You can also browse and shop aound for medieval props and accessories, though it is also available post-dinner. You can also go to one of the desks and request additional add ons, like a birthday scroll and announcement ($18+tax) or a knighting ceremony ($22+tax?). There are no utensils for dinner. Only wet wipes and napkins. Strongly recommend bringing your own utensils if you require them, or disposable gloves like we did. You can find their menu online, but you get tomato basil soup, garlic bread, a drink (Pepsi or water), baked potato, chicken leg, corn cob, and a dessert (eclair). The soup was good, baked potato was dry, chicken leg was dry and huge, and corn cob was sad (mushy). Eclair was also not good (couldn't even finish it). We did have lots of leftovers to take home (mostly chicken legs). The service was top notch and the show was very good. As an adult, you can tell it's very much rehearsed and choreographed, but it's fun cheering for your team and getting immersed. We had some first-timers in our group (grandma included) and they enjoyed it very much. TLDR I wouldn't come here often, nor only for food, but it's a nice celebration once in a while!

On a positive note, I came across report online indicating that the animals are treat well. It was reassuring. It important for those of us who care about animal welfare. Overall, it is a memorable experience. It was enjoyable for everyone, especially if you are there for the show. Just be prepared to manage your expectations when it comes to the dining aspect! Pro tip: Be aware of overpriced souvenirs!

We received tickets for Cavalia Odysseo from friends and couldn't pass up a date night downtown…read more The tents are located towards the water, across from the Gardiner. It was difficult to find a path across, but eventually made it a few minutes before the show started. Hint: Take Parliament Street. Parking is $20 if you park in their lot. I believe I saw some who prepaid for $15. If you don't mind a short walk (or a long walk), there's parking nearby for $10-$12. We found a parking spot for $3 near George St and Adelaide St E. Once you walk in, there is a lot of upselling. You can visit the stables for $20 for children and $30 for adults. There are also printed programs for a price. They also have merchandise on sale, but nothing has a price on it. The show itself is pretty cool. I would say the show is 60% horsemanship and 40% acrobatics. Essentially like Cirque de Soliel with horses. It's amazing how well-trained the horses are. They will come to the riders when called upon, usually with a simple outstretched hand. What's more amazing is that they can control over 4 horses at a time. Having said that, though, there were a few occasions where the horses ran off on their own and you can tell that it was unscripted because the riders will run after the horses. It just goes to show you how hard it is to do what they do. The riders do some crazy things, mostly around mounting and dismounting horses while they're running. The acrobats were really great as well. They definitely showed how skilled and how strong they are. There was a lot of jumping, back flipping, standing on shoulders, and balancing on poles and rings. The acrobats were definitely enjoyable to watch with or without horse involvement. We also enjoyed the music, which was played live. From what we can tell, there was a single, guitarist, violinist, and drummer. There may have been more musicians, but we couldn't see them. The musicians were really good. I thought I was listening to a studio recording until I noticed them playing live. Overall the show was really good and if you like horses then this is definitely the show for you. Prices are pretty high, but horses have to eat too! Don't try to switch seats during the show/during intermission because their ushers will come by and yell at you.

If you are interested in these beasts, then you'll have a blast. But, if you are just looking for a fancy show, you are probably better off going to a Cirque performance or maybe catching a broadway show. SPOILERS BELOW: Choreography (of the humans) was often out of sync, and supposedly symmetric formations often had one or two stragglers. On the other hand, the horses were very cute, and their spontaneity provided some of the most endearing moments of the show. A horse stopping by to drink water from the lake was very natural, and although unplanned, it was sweet. Another horse getting lost on the way off the stage was also natural and sweet. Going into Odysseo I expected to, at a minimum, see the classic formation of two riders side by side on a pair of horses with a third balancing on their shoulders. Unfortunately, even this staple of horse acrobatics was not included. Disappointing.

I had no idea what to expect going in as this was our first time attending a production. The musical was so beautiful and I fell in love with the costumes, music, acting and set. It is akin to a Mirvish production for kids. I came out with a huge smile on my face! I cannot wait to see more performances at this fantastic live theatre venue. What a jewel for Toronto! This is a special place for kids and adults alike.
