Firstly we were greeted by surely the nicest waiter I have ever met, she asked us how I morning was then went on to tell us the specialties and all the while being bubbly and smiling. So refreshing. Firstly I got the iced coffee, and just as expected it was a delicious espresso with not too much milk all icy and delicious. Plus a little scoop of icecream on the top made it sweet and tasty! We were told the avocado smash and the corn bread were the best sellers. So we ordered them. They quickly arrived. The cornbread was thick and moist with a beautiful avocado and tomato salsa with a little coriander (YUM!) the bacon was generous and well cooked. The smashed avocado was served on crusty bread with just enough mint to make it tangy not too tart. We added bacon and again it was a generous portion and well cooked. There is seriously no feedback I could give Hot Honey, other than to keep doing exactly what they are doing. Lovely staff, great organic food, good value and great location! I will certainly be a returning customer and if you're looking for a yummy breakfast then you better get down to Hot Honey :)

I happened to hear about Beatrix from a colleague who mentioned wonderful biscuits they made according to the Beatrix cook book. Quick to look the business and pay a visit, I certainly was not disappointed. The brownie was superb, with a hint of espresso and chocolaty rich as it should be. It makes for such a good community feel. They have such a great variety of cakes on offer, all made on site. Some are hard to find though. They usually have a list on the wall near the till saying what's on offer. Two things to look out for: Glim Glams and vanilla slice. The Glim Glams are their (better) version of Tim Tams with 24c gold leaf, hence the name, and they are amazing. The vanilla slice I often describe as the best vanilla slice on the planet. Better than my mums! I've had them from Aussie bakeries to French patisseries but no one is as good as Beatrix. The pastry is the perfect balance of flaky, buttery, and stability. The custard is the perfect texture and the passion fruit icing is genius! The right amount of sweetness but with delicious sourness that cuts through everything. Damn they are so good! If a paragraph just on their vanilla slice wasn't enough to make you want to go then I'll eat your vanilla slice for you!

The indoor seating is a little awkward as people are always queuing up around you. Trust me, at morning and afternoon tea times (10am and 3pm) you will wait in line. Th dish was also served with some kidney beans and corn. My friend and I couldn't believe how good they were. They're not crispy but more like soft cutlets. The baked eggs dish include three slices of buttered sourdough bread which was quite crunchy and difficult to cut into. The baked eggs were well favoured and included two baked eggs in a bed of tomato sauce with chickpeas and eggplant and topped with some delicious soft cheese. Service is quick. Meals are delicious.
