    Allstate Insurance: Martin Wolner

I have had a 30 year old relationship starting in Jan 1988 with Marty Wolner and his agency. He…read morehas consistently helped me over the years with both auto, home and umbrella policies and all that entails. In March, I was broadsided by a van. I immediately texted Marty Wolner who responded within a minute. His first focus was for me physically - and that was awesome - because I do believe I was in a state of shock. From those first few minutes to when the car was towed away as undrivable to his updates on what was going on with the mother ship, Marty was not only professional but really patient with me as he guided me through the process. Thanks to Marty, the process was fairly automatic. He oversaw it all and gave us tremendous peace of mind. Again, just my two cents. I would most definitely recommend him to anyone looking for help in the confusing world of insurance.

I worked with Martin over several years, for both car and auto insurance. I was never especially…read morepleased with the customer service, generally abrupt and in some ways condescending, however I did not make a change for convenience factors. I had very little need to work with him directly over the years as I was a low maintenance customer and work a busy schedule. In November 2014, I purchased a new car and things spiraled out of control. Martin quoted me a price and date for automatic payment withdrawal that was not consistent until 2/15. For three months, the payment changed and was withdrawn on different days. Once, two payments were drawn in the same month. Each time I reached out to Martin and he essentially told me I should be patient that it would all settle into place. After 3 months of inconsistency, I finally told Martin that I would have to terminate my services with Allstate. Then came a barrage of irritable responses from Martin. He told me my concerns related to a rate $17 higher monthly than he quoted me was my own responsibility for not weeding through the endless documents auto-forwarded to me from the corporate office. My understanding was, having used an agent was the benefit of not having to read every detail. If I wanted to manage the policy on my own, I would enroll online. I used Martin to be my advocate, instead he accused me of not doing my homework. He sent me repeated emails that were antagonist and started with things like 'but....' when I expressed concerns. I'm not sure where the customer service is when the agent sends you an argumentative introduction to your inquiry. I haven't left Allstate yet because I haven't had enough time to research alternate options, but I have changed agents from Martin Wolner and would not recommend his services in the future.
