I then hired a local landscape contractor to build it. The modern garden they designed was the perfect fit for our mid-century modern house and the price was much lower than anyone local I could find. That was five years ago and we just sold the house, the garden that Earthdesigns designed for us was a major selling point. I'm planning on hiring them again for my next house.

The gardener showed the next day, he even got there 10 minutes earlier and considering it was around eight in the morning I guess he was just as excited as me. He got right to mowing and when I went out and offered him a glass of water as it was really hot that day we started talking. It tuned out that he is a pretty nice guy. Later the same day I realised that he had left without leaving any document of a kind behind so I had to call them back and request a receipt. It took them a couple of days to bring it but I got the receipt at the end. All in all I can say I am pretty satisfied even though there was the problem with the receipt. I think I will check their landscape gardener out, my friend has been bragging about him so he must be good.

Not really knowing where to start, I did a quick google search and contacted all the hits within a reasonable distance of home via email or their website contact form. Most of these never bothered to get back to me. Some did and either quoted randomly without asking any specifics, or would only come round during office hours to look at it, which was no good for me. And then there was Jane from Tree Wise Men, who got back to me and said Barry could pop round one evening to take a look it. Which he did, and gave by far the best quote, so we agreed he'd come round one Saturday morning to do the work. You'd think chopping down a 40-foot tree might be quite disruptive, but the first I knew they were even there was when I came down to make some tea and my patio doors were green with the piles of tree branches on the other side. They'd arrived, let themselves in the back gate, as agreed, and just got on with it while we all slept in. Within no time at all, the tree was down to a neat stump, and they'd removed all the branches and swept up after themselves. I was so impressed with them that my Dad used them for a job for him a couple of weeks later. All in all, Barry and co at the Tree Wise Men are one of the nicest service companies I've ever dealt with - friendly, efficient, and they did a great job. If you've got a monster tree that needs cutting down to size, I'd recommend them wholeheartedly.

The consumers should be very careful to those. This company is genuine providing the consumers with very professional services, which I strongly recommend. Their price is very competitive for the quality and technical standards. From the quote to clearing the site after work, they acted in a very professional and efficient manner with the very minimum disturbance. I had to remove two old trees from stumps (8 and 16 meters high) and reduce crowns of two old tress (12 meters high). They did it in few hours perfectly complying with the safety regulations. Also, I appreciated their professional knowledge about native trees and guidance on the garden works in an exotic garden planning. I am qualified for Japanese garden design but have little knowledge about English native plants. So their advice was highly valued for the long-term planning. They love their work and are proud of helping the customers. We can find fewer and fewer of such professionals in the recession time.
