I was getting ready to move away for at least a year and after the Covid virus pandemic and basically trashing my hair living and working in NYC then coming home for quarantine, I looked like the cave woman from the Saturday Night Live skit. Not pleasant! I called and left a message requesting an appiontment and waited with baited breath until I got a call back. After playing a little phone tag and Jovi listening to my panicked dilema, she worked me in for a quick cut on a Saturday afternoon! What?! Yes, the heavens took mercy and a beautiful young lady practiced some hearty perseverance and made it happen. LUCKY ME!! To note, the first appointment is supposed to be 1.5 hours long and is a teaching session on how to treat curly hair so that you look like a supermodel and not Rosanne-Rosanna-Danna! You learn about how curly hair should be cut - and how it should NEVER be cut so that if you go anywhere else and they pull out the thinning shears, you run! These are NOT for curly hair. No razor thinning either. EVER. She teaches you about products and what they do to the hair. And she teaches you the correct way to dry your hair so that you don't have the dreaded Frizz. Sweet, sweet Red, why have I only now just found you? My hair feels amazing and looks amazing and I am happy with the shape for the first time in a long while. Too bad I am moving and Louisville won't be able to see the JOY that this cut has brought me. Also, I LOVE that Red is straight forward and clear cut in her manner. If you are a person that needs to be fluffed and buffed and coddled, she is not the right person for you. (And will probably let you know it. RESPECT THIS. It is rare that a service person is not willing to put up with a person's personality that doesn't fit with theirs. Wish we could accept that at face value and move on. I know I would love to get to a point in my life where I can turn people away if I know they wouldn't be a good client for me but right now I have to smile and take it because I need the money! lol!) Like a barbershop. My stylist (barber) was friendly, engaging and quick and effective. After my haircut I got the hot towel treatment to clean the hair off. I got the haircut my wife wanted and the hot towel treatment I didn't expect, but enjoyed. I didn't get a shave and I'm not sure if it's an option, but other than that it was just like a barbershop. Give them a shop and find your favorite stylist! The shop was clean and open, and wasn't too busy. There's lots of parking - they're located in a strip mall.

The stylist was very rushed and used clippers after I'd asked for a scissor cut. My son has super thick and curly(ish) hair. His hair was WAS amazing!!! She zipped through the cut and it was horrendous. (I will add pictures) I cried. She was uninterested... she just kept going Then charged me $15... $3 more than I was told Once I was home and realized how bad the cut truly was (lopsided, uneven, undone, missed pieces, shaved/clippers on one side all the way up to the top of his head while the other side the ength was to his ear) I emailed the owner. She apologized and offered for me to come in the following night and she would attempt to fix it. Well I made the decision to have another stylist correct it (one that I knew and trusted) I apologized for not having gotten in contact with her sooner and explained our day (doctor for strep and corrective cut with someone else) and apologized. See, I didn't feel comfortable going back into the salon that had just WRECKED my sons hair!! I did send her pictures of the corrective cut, showing her from the stylist just how bad, and uneven his hair had been left. How bad of a haircut I'd paid for. Her response was "our salon is not a good fit for your family" AS IF WE HAD DONE SOMETHING WRONG!!! UNBELIEVABLE!! And she refuses to refund me... so I've essentially paid for this cut twice! My daughter thoroughly enjoyed having Khyla do her hair. We first went in expecting a curly cut but then switched over to a silk press (what my daughter originally asked me to do). My daughter appreciated her tender touch while detangling, and her concern for temperature at the shampoo bowl.
