However, I am absolutely heart broken to say my hair was not done well and not HOW I ASKED it to be done. When I made the appointment, I asked for heat rollers to be used because even though my hair curls & holds fine at home, when I get my hair professionally curled it never holds. THE OWNER REPLIED TO MY GOOGLE REVIEW SAYING MOST SALONS DON'T HAVE HEAT ROLLERS. I WAS TOLD BOTH TIMES I CALLED THAT HANNAH WOULD BE REMINDED TO BRING IN HEAR ROLLERS. SO NOT ONLY WAS I LIED TO, BUT THE OWNER COULDN'T EVEN BE EMPATHETIC AND APOLOGETIC BUT INSTEAD BLAMED ME FOR NOT ADVOCATING BETTER FOR MYSELF. The morning of my appointment, I called again to remind them to ask Hannah to BRING IN heat rollers to use on my hair. I requested them a third time when I got to the salon for my appointment. Hannah shrugged it off, saying she believed the "velcro rollers" would only give me volume and not curl and that she would curl my hair with a curler & pin it for a few minutes to let it set. I trusted the professional, but I should have stood up for myself and insisted on using heat rollers. Within 30 minutes of leaving the salon, the curls were gone. I was absolutely devastated. This maternity photo shoot is obviously a huge deal, once in a lifetime thing, and I just spent $155 (tip included) for great makeup and flat, straight hair. I was so disappointed that my requests were not met. My appointment was scheduled to be three hours long, but it only took two hours if that gives you any idea how much shorter "pinning my hair" took than the heat roller method would have taken. I rushed to Ulta, seeking some sort of last minute option as I was absolutely heart broken that I had just spent so much time & money on my hair that was an absolute fair for such an important event. Ulta curled my hair for $30 and those curls lasted for most of the photo shoot. They also wondered why the salon wouldn't do what I requested and even said heat rollers is the tried and true method that worked for our mothers and grandmothers, having no idea what Hannah meant by "velcro rollers that don't curl your hair." Anyways, I made the best of the photo shoot (which was cheaper than the hair & makeup) but having to drive in 3 hours & out 3 more hours and spend hundreds of dollars and take off work etc etc I would have liked to have gotten the hair style I asked THREE TIMES for. I normally get a touch up on my color, she trims up my hair, she also styles it (sometimes she uses a straight iron to make my hair straight & smooth) other times she curls my hair, if I'm headed out for a night on the town. Most times she waxes my brows for me as well. A typical visit includes a stop at the color bar where the freshening up of my hair color takes place. The chairs are comfortable, & there are snacks nearby if you need a little something to hold you over until lunch or dinner. Every time as soon as I enter, I'm greeted by the receptionist, & she asks if I need anything to drink - a soda, or water (you can get a canned soda, or a glass with ice) they also have wine & bourbon as well if you're really having a bad day or week. I usually sit at the color bar while the touch up is being done, as well as the time it takes for it to process. After that, it's off to the shampoo bowl (which is probably my favorite part)! The color is rinsed off, I get shampood, conditioner, & toner. This is also where my brows are done. Lastly we go to her chair where she trims & styles my hair. The salon is very well laid out, there are 4-5 salon chairs laid out in each section, so when your stylist is taking care of you it doesn't get so loud that you can't carry on a conversation. At J Michael's you can get a manicure, pedicure, a facial, you can have your makeup done, get a massage, lash extensions, and even microblading. They are definitely a full service salon. It's bright & airy, people are friendly, & there's always music playing, & it's generally a wonderful place to get pampered. There's plenty of parking just outside the door of the salon. I'd definitely recommend J Michael's if you're looking for a good place to be spoiled. The products Paige uses on my hair leaves it feeling soft & looking healthy. I typically buy several of those she uses on me, every other visit so I can keep my hair looking just as nice as when I leave the salon.

Not only did Katie make my short, difficult hair look awesome, she was quick! One bridesmaid had accidentally tanned a temporary tattoo into her arm, which Shelby was able to cover with airbrush, making it completely disappear. Both ladies were fun, easy to work with, and priced very well. Also of note, when additional family members wanted to have hair and makeup done the ladies accommodated as possible, but at a certain point they said, "No. Now it's time to do the bride's hair and makeup", keeping the bride and her mother from having to run that awkward interference. This apparently was the decision of a manager. Heard that this has angered some patrons. What kind of bonehead would treat their customers in this fashion? That individual needs to sit by the bathroom door and personally tell patrons and possibly their children why they can't use it. My last comment is you want to have a welcoming atmosphere in your store. Asking them to use the restroom at Duck Donuts is beyond stupid.
