As soon as I made the bar man aware I was homosexuel, he started making inappropriate comments, one of the comments was along the lines of "you aren't my type" I immediately sat away from the bat as I started feeling like he was being difficult. The bar Man stated that I was "not his type" even though I hadn't mentioned anything like this, the security then appeared at my table telling me I had to leave, I had whiteness and there is also cctv to look into this, obviously I was upset as I feel I've been targeted. I asked for the bar staff name but was reserved, I then asked for the security name and was told "mike", I do not understand why I was removed I had caused no issue except telling the bar man he was not my type. The security approached me and then I told him I would leave immediately, when I asked him why he could not explain. There is no reason I can see that I was removed from.the bar, apart from the bar barmans own issues and any cctv or recordings from the night would prove it, I have no idea why I was kicked out and intend to complain on every level untill I have been addressed properly.

The dancers are polite and friendly yet pretty girls approaching ME (in underwear) rather than vice versa will take a while to get used to! :-D Though of course it's in their interests to. ;-) The piped music was a little intrusive and made the chit chat with dancers harder to make out. Thankfully it was peaceful in the enclosed box booths downstairs with a bead curtain, if a little dark to see where I was! The brunette dancer, C, named after an upmarket district in London treated me warmly, politely and smelled all girly lovely and snuggly - rather intoxicating to the senses :) It was £65. The door charge was £5. It may have been 30-mins to 45mins but the dance felt like an hour. I liked that she's a keen horsewoman like myself so we had something to talk about, that's if I managed to being so distracted by her gyrations :-) The staff were super and even were kind enough to accommodate my error in invoicing for dances - it is cash only. I wanted to upgrade for another, longer dance to £200. I think it's a private room with more plush furnishings and maybe they take more clothes off I don't know. However I had to reluctantly be on my way as I was getting slightly fatigued.

Starters include Bury black pudding & Chorizo with poached egg, hollandaise sauce and rocket and chorizo salad; Goosnargh Chicken Liver and Port Pate; and Morecambe Bay shrimps. Mains include 28 day hung Rib Eye steak, Lancashire Hotpot and Home made Beef and Guinness pie. Quiz night on Thursdays and live music on Fridays. We both had the hot beef sarnie with homemade chips and the side - both served with an extra jug of gravy for chip dipping ! The lunch was very good and great value at about a tenner, beer choice was fine with a couple of real ales and the usual lager suspects. It a typical family run style of pub - Dad and daughter were behind the bar the day we visited , both very nice and happy to advise on the local area. Car parking is close but is over the road from the pub. I liked it and will be going back soon.

The Woodman although not reviewed on yelp has many reviews on other sites. Nearly all the reviews are bad and that's why we didn't eat here till yesterday. However we heard there was a new team in charge and decided to include them in our fact finding for the area after moving to Clayton Le Woods end of 2014. On arrival at the bar we were greeted by a nice young fella who offered to let me try both the real ale's they had on. I decided on a pint of Wainwright's which was very nice indeed. We said we would like to order some lunch so we were asked to choose a table and somebody would come to take the order. I like that I don't like all this order at the bar with a table number. So we had baguettes and chips, me tuna melt and Sharon chicken and bacon. Both served with a bowl of homemade chunky chips. We both enjoyed the food very much. Nice presentation, good quality and homemade. One check in by staff as we ate which is the right thing. We couldn't fault it. Nice beer, good grub, nice table by the real fire and 19 quid for lunch including a pint and a Bacardi and coke. I hope that the new team at the woodman keep it up all power to them.

Dog friendly, tables outside to enjoy a beer when weather allows and regular entertainment including quiz nights and live music. The owners have recently opened a micro bar in Preston City Centre- Plug & Taps which has instantly become the best bar in Preston City Centre! Craft keg beer also offered with some great breweries like Cloudwater from time to time!

It is a proper real ale pub and the range of alcohol is amazing. The pub doesn't do pub food but there's a wide range of snacks available. The pub is well run and the bar staff are very friendly. There must be a really good chef in this pub as I had a wild boar pie for a main course that was clearly cooked from scratch. My mother had a 'chippy tea' with fish, chips and some addictive mushy peas that were flavoursome and a gorgeous chunky consistently (not too mushy). But the staff showed interest in where we'd come from and why we were there (a family wedding) and we ended up feeling like we had a new family. Is it friendlier up North? Alright so WHO KNEW Preston has one of the best kept secrets of the North West. This bar and…read morerestaurant is the renovated and refurbished 350-year-old Plough Inn, which sat beside one of the main medieval routes of the north. Numerous historical figures have walked the halls of PLOU since then, and the building has been used for everything from a gin distillery to battle barracks. The new owners have carefully preserved the building and even showcase artefacts discovered in the cellar, where they also happened to excavate the old well which dives 43 feet deep. There are several levels to the building - each with a different function. The top floors house the restaurant, with wonderful dishes from all over the world (HUGE props to the chef). The bottom cellar is where the well is located (right next to a gorgeous bar). And then the floors in between are a cocktail bar and beer/bar stall area. You can rent out different locations of the restaurant for business meetings, workshops, celebrations and more. Okay now onto the restaurant. What a treat! PLAU offers brunch, lunch, and dinner. We went for a late dinner and were blown away. The beer bread butter, king prawns, and duck & squash were my personal favourites, but honestly every dish was lovely.
