Found some "vintage" 1994, Christmas Valley houses. I'm not a collector but ended up buying them all. They displayed beautifully during the holiday. Prices appeared slightly higher than they were @ two antique malls across town, but I did see some decent prices. (The front left booth w/antique Christmas merchandise had VERY high prices, especially on the glass ornaments.) The mall owner was friendly & the mall was clean & organized. What this business had that made it stand out was EXCELLENT antique toys in VERY good condition; I saw some fantastic, quality toys here-- SEE PICS! And I noticed a large toy/sign/car booth in the back right corner that had lots of mid century or newer vintage toys-- SEE PIC. Should you stop in, check out the rewired & refinished antique radios-- many gorgeous ones! There are hardly any primitives here & not many vintage furniture pieces, but it's definitely a worthy antique mall. When I'm in the Murphysboro area again, I'll likely stop in. We stopped in Jones Antiques and found this is a very nice store. We spent a few hours in there and in reading up on the place after the fact I found out that we missed the entire basement where they have caused World War I, World War II, and Civil War memorabilia. We will definitely have to go back and catch the basement part of the store. As we perused the shop it looked like they had a little bit of everything and in all kinds of price ranges from $5 record albums up into the unapproachable numbers for some of the items. Well at least for me LOL. I did find an item that I brought home, I recently remodeled my bathroom in a lake theme and found this beautiful mermaid that fit my decor perfectly. Take a look at the photos to get some idea of what they have. I love browsing this kind of store you never know what you are going to find! We will definitely be stopping here when we get back to Cookeville once again. These places sure conjure up the memories!

After spending a few minutes browsing the store (for example, looking through records, or examining a trumpet that supposedly works but is broken) the host very angrily and rudely told us to "Stop touching things we had no intention of buying." Interestingly enough, we were actually interested in buying the things we were touching. Unfortunately, it's hard to know what record to buy without looking at them. How do you know if a trumpet works? There was never any hospitality or politeness, no mention of "hey yall." Instead we got "yall are really getting on my nerves" This racist act shines very poorly on Downtown Cookeville.

This is a fairly large antique mall with lots of vendor booths, it's clean and organized and filled…read morewith mostly what I consider quality items and not so much junk or garage sale items and as you'd expect the prices reflect this. These types of shops are generally a little higher priced due to the overhead and commissions the buildings owners charge for the display space but I'd expect there's still a little room to negotiate a better deal, I always try and bring enough cash to cover anything I may want to purchase while antiquing, I've found cash is still king in this arena and I always offer an out the door price which includes any taxes I leave it up to them to figure that out so flash the cash when you are serious about the purchase and close the deal as fast as possible. This place is definitely worth the time it takes to checkout the inventory, I'd say Crossroad Trading turns over its inventory and has new items arriving daily, remember this is a business unlike the mom and pop shops that are more of a passion for the proprietor to collect than anything else, if it's displayed here they want to move it there's not any kind of attachment to anything here and if they say there is I'd call BS...
