Eight Eleven Catering - The main course (full description in my review)

    Eight Eleven Catering

Before I start my review I pray whomever reads it, it touches you like the food touched my stomach…read more Eight-Eleven is a one stop shop! Lamar and his team came with decor, table settings, plates, utensils, lighting for pictures and an aura that's contagious. The food presentation alone deserves its own review! Trying to be present amongst the presences of others, while getting content was tricky within this situation. It was a "surprise" birthday dinner for one of sister's, so hopefully my photos and videos are given a glimpse of an experience I wish upon everyone's future. Bon appétit? I did so let's get into the courses. Course #1 (Appetizers): 1.) Eight-Eleven Signature House Salad -Everything about the house salad tanged refreshed especially with the signature mixed dressing. 2.) Hot Cheesy Shrimp Spinach Dip with Toasted Bread Points. -The Bread Points within itself was ran through the table about 5x times. It added the crunch substitution for chips. It was toasted never burnt! The Spinach Dip gave gourmet with crispness around the circler perimeter. 3.) Cajun Crab Stuffed Eggs -Do you see the selection of crab meat on top of the eggs? Absolutely no corners were cut and money well spent! *Reference my picture* Main Course: 1.) Rosemary Dijon Seared Lamb-Chops -You're either an expert at lamb-chop making or you're not! These were pan seared not pan fried lamb chops. Which was a smart decision on the chef's part as I was consuming other palates from that course. 2.) Southern Fried Lobster Tail -I'm a saucy gal! If the lobster tail had a tangy sauce such aioli, or some sort on the side, it would have made a world of a difference for me. 3.) Shrimp, Sausage and Crawfish Jambalaya -Jambalaya is normally spicy but not at Eight-Eleven! The variety of meats within the jambalaya was a precise replacement for the piquant taste. 4.) Roasted Broccolini -My least favorite as I don't care for asparagus so the texture reminded me of it. Regardless of how I felt others spoke highly of how it was succulent. Dessert Course: 1.) Pecan White Chocolate Blondie with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream topped Hennessy Maple Butter Sauce. -The dessert that sealed The deal! Lamar could have packed that into a pint container and shipped it to Memphis. You could savor every burst of flavor described. It truly was magic in a cup! It might be the first month of February but my new year resolution for the year of 2024 and beyond, personal chef experiences ONLY!

Chef Hassan - Great flank steak and veggies meal for 4!

Review I hate I had…read moreto resort to a review to document my experience but here goes. Since my text messages have gone ignored by Hassan and who he is with, Honey, or whatever. In my attempt to support local black business, I hired Hassan to meal prep for my family. Trying to get on track after a short challenge, I paid for an entire month of meal prep. I have worked with him in the past and he was professional, so I expected the same experience. However, this time was different. Some of my meals were delivered on time, but, some were also late. Sometimes the communication was there when the meals would be late, at other times it wasn't. I was understanding through trying times in his life. Life happens. Still supported even though the deliveries were shaky. Food quality? Some things were good, some were not. I stated not much meat. Meat was in every meal. Low salt requirement. Some meals loaded with salt. I paid upfront. Distance was never an issue when working with him before. I live in the same area. Haven't moved. Been here for years. Halfway through this service he mentions adding a delivery fee for gas. Ok. That would be fine if you mentioned it BEFORE. Before I prepaid. Again. Never an issue before. Again. Halfway through the service. One day he mentions the entire household got sick. Ok. Being understanding of this, I said it was cool and sent well wishes to the fam. This was the last time I heard from him and Honey. I have texted for over a month for the last week of my food delivery. No response. Silence. . I reach out one last time to ask for my money back for the last week of no delivery. Silence. But. Y'all are on social media making food for game day and got engaged. So. Basically. You and your partner scammed me out of my money, over two hundred dollars for the last week? I have the receipts and text messages to PROVE IT. The total lack of respect and disregard for my family is appalling. You have kids, sir. Would you take food out of their mouths? You took food out of mine and I am not happy about it one bit. I want to warn you. It is not professional to handle business the way that you have with me. I have known you a long time and never was disrespectful to you. I supported you when you didn't have a name in Birmingham, AL. Let's get that straight now. Again. I would not take food out of your family's mouth. You chose to do that to me and my family. Karma is real and it comes around real quick and fast. Again, I hate to blast your business on these internet streets, but I stand in my truth always and authenticity. My brand is TRUTH and honoring who I am. Your service is a reflection of you. What message are you sending to the world? I would have respected a text message saying you can't handle my last week of orders right now. But silence! And you kept my two hundred plus dollars?! No way. Let this sit with you deep. Treat people right and your life will change. Until then. You will always be restless and unfulfilled. Then you wouldn't have to resort to treating your own people dirty when we support black business.

Chef Hassan posted on IG that he's making family dinners at this time. The options last week were…read morechicken parm, cajun chicken pasta, or flank steak and veggies. I wanted all of them!! We ended up getting the chicken parm and flank steak and Chef Hassan adjusted some of the meal to be vegetarian friendly success my hubs is vegetarian. The meals have been delicious and plentiful. Also, if you want to support a black-owned business, this is one of them! Shoot him a text or call and he can send you the menu! Thanks Chef Hassan!
