When I hit a low and missed an appointment, I was never contacted by phone or email, simply sent a $90 missed appointment fee. Some therapists subscribe to the bootstraps philosophy of "just be more positive!" when it comes to treating mental illness, and I don't know how they get away with it. Worse, though, is the total lack of empathy evident in NEVER contacting a patient with a diagnosed social anxiety disorder and depression when they miss an appointment to see if they're okay - except to ask them for money.

I don't care if they're pharma scumbags or holistic therapists.. At the end of the day no one cares about your issues and paying to talk to someone is something I feel ashamed for doing. One counselor named Blair Ambrose was very quick to get me out the door when a session ended, I know you can't drag sessions on, understandable. But if you have a career centered on helping people, you figure you want to make sure people are ok. She also was going to charge me for a late fee for something that was abrupt and out of my control and I gave her nearly a 2 hour heads up that I might not make it. This place is a money pit, avoid it.

I would not recommend seeking services here or accepting an employment offer from this company…read more There are so many issues stemming from the owner, upper management, and the business practices. I wish I could go into detail fully. I also want to include I truly do not believe the poor quality of care some clients experience has anything to do with the therapists. I am certain that it has everything to do with management, training provided, and the work environment. If you went here for help and had a bad experience please do not let that stop you from seeking services in the future elsewhere. This company does not represent the values of the many many therapists across the state who care (not CARE).

My therapist was supportive, professional, and provided quality care. My concerns are not with my…read moretherapist, but with the administrative and leadership side of the practice. I experienced multiple billing and scheduling issues that ultimately interfered with my access to care. In one instance, I received notice of a reprocessed invoice on a Thursday evening and my appointment scheduled for the following Monday was cancelled the next day, leaving less than one business day to address the balance before the weekend. In another instance, I attended a scheduled therapy appointment, an invoice was generated after midnight, and my future appointments were cancelled the following morning due to non-payment. What was most disappointing was the response when I attempted to discuss these concerns. Rather than acknowledging the timing issues or the impact on continuity of care, the responses focused primarily on policy enforcement. I was surprised to later learn that the individual responding was the CEO and founder of the practice. I understand the importance of billing policies and have consistently paid for services, including carrying a high-deductible insurance plan where I am responsible for the full cost of care until my deductible is met. My concern was never about paying for treatment. It was about receiving reasonable notice, accurate billing, and having a fair opportunity to resolve issues before appointments were cancelled. I also experienced billing discrepancies that required me to proactively request credits after my insurance Explanation of Benefits (EOB) had already been finalized. These adjustments were not identified or communicated by the practice, and I was required to reconcile the charges myself and request the appropriate credits. This contributed to my concerns regarding the accuracy and oversight of the billing process. I hope the practice reviews its billing communication, reconciliation procedures, and cancellation practices so future patients do not experience similar disruptions to their mental health care.

I consider the therapeutic relationship very important, as is the fit between counsellor and client. I like for our work together to be collaborative and interactive, so it is together that we will navigate your path of awareness and unfolding. I consider myself an eclectic therapist, drawing mainly from Psychodynamic, Relationtional and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). EFT is based on attachment theory and relationship bonding. When we are in a close relationship, it is normal to have disagreements and misunderstandings. But it is how we deal with these misses, that matters. The repairing, and coming back together is so important. Without this, we have layers and layers of unhealed wounds. We all want to feel that we belong and to be loved. I have such hope and optimism for helping you and your love partner, get out of the negative behavioral cycle, and create a new connection of love and belonging. Within a safe place, I will help you and your love partner to turn towards one another, share your vulnerabilities and create a loving connection.
