It's NOT a HIPAA violation, because these sites are encryption protected, and a lot of medical practices use them. The portals are specifically created for the medical field. Even hospitals have patient portals.

I was instructed to not eat or drink in the ER all night, all morning. Dresnik sent his PA, Michelle, the next morning who was cold and rude to tell me he was not doing the scope, it wasn't an emergency. His PA said he didn't even know who I was. Complete lie!!!! Being a naturalist as much as possible I decided to seek an alternative after watching Dr Sajay Guptas show on the benefits of Medical Marijuana. I tried Dr #1 who said my RA wasn't on the list of illnesses (which is CRAZY) one of my Drs gave me Dr Herman's name and number and that is where I first encountered KIM (his receptionist)!!!!
