First he curtly asked us to move our car... dude, it's broken down, we had to push it in the parking lot. While there I bought lunch... chips and Carolina bbq sandwich with slaw. There was a big ole crockpot with that bbq that smelled some kind of good! For $6, it was a pretty sweet deal. But, while it was tasty, it was watery and soaked the bun. Then we asked to use the facilities, he wouldn't let us even though we bought hot food here. He said he'd get fined... what? Who in this little roadside country store is going to fine him? The other location is farther from an exit and requires navigating multiple roads and intersections. This Wawa is located on Sliding Hill Road (State Route 656), Exit 86B off Interstate 95. It is the first exit north of the Interstate 295 junction. Having not stopped since Maryland, I headed straight to the men's room, which was clean. Wawa provides separate restrooms for men and women. The men's room includes a handicapped-accessible stall, a urinal, one sink, and an air dryer. It was clean, though not spotless. I grabbed a hazelnut coffee from the coffee bar, which was generally well stocked, although they were running low on half-and-half--one container was empty and the other nearly so. I did not see a coffee station attendant at the time. I also picked up a SIZZLI sausage croissant with egg and cheese from the warmer. It was good. I used the self-checkout, and the process was quick and uneventful. Overall, this is a nice store with friendly staff. I've stopped here before and will likely return.

It's that time of year again! My husband and I got our annual flu shots (high-dose for hubby;…read moreregular for me) and the updated COVID (Pfizer) boosters at this CVS. (Oct, 2024). The appointments were easy to make online, and we went in at the scheduled time. The pharmacy tech was friendly and highly skilled at her job. In fact, we didn't even feel the needle and COVID vaccine injections, and felt only the smallest of pricks for the flu ones. CVS also took care of the paperwork for insurance billing. CVS also gives a $5 off $20 for vaccine administration. Our drive to Montpelier actually took longer than the vaccines administration for the two of so we also took advantage of the fact that the CVS is close to a few restaurants and a grocery store, eating lunch locally and picking up a few groceries.

As the fortunes of CVS have dwindled, this pharmacy location has started shortening their hours. The final straw for me was today when they are open only 6 hours. Needing an order, I made a quick trip up there to pick it up. Despite a pharmacist and a customer clerk being there, and helping the person in front of me, they looked right at me and told me they were closing for lunch and I had to come back later. It would have taken 5 minutes for them to get my order but....nope. Wouldn't do it. I'm changing my pharmacy to either the Montpelier pharmacy or going to Short Pump. This is why mail delivery has gotten so popular. When jobs are lost locally, it's due to customer service like this.

Scathing Review I…read morehave been coming to this gas station regularly, but after my experience this morning, I will not be returning. The disrespect started the second I walked up to the register. I was greeted with an incredibly nasty, dismissive "What do you want?" rather than even the most basic courtesy you would expect from someone working with customers. I asked to purchase a vape and presented my ID. She refused the sale, which is her right if she believed there was a legitimate reason. What was NOT acceptable was that she wouldn't even properly look at my ID or explain what the issue was. When I asked to speak to a manager, she claimed that she was the manager. I told her that if she was refusing me service and believed she had a legitimate reason for doing so, she could go ahead and call the police so the situation could be addressed. She refused to do that as well. At that point, I was left standing there being refused service with absolutely no reasonable explanation, while the person claiming to be the manager wouldn't properly examine my identification, wouldn't provide a legitimate explanation for refusing the transaction, and wouldn't call anyone when I asked her to. And to the specific cashier who refused to sell me the vape: I drove five minutes down the road to the next gas station, and I didn't even have to present my ID to purchase the exact same thing. So whatever point you thought you were making this morning, all you accomplished was losing a regular customer. I have no problem being told "no" when there is a legitimate reason. What I have a problem with is being treated disrespectfully from the moment I approach the register, having my ID dismissed without even being properly examined, being given no explanation, and then being told you're the manager when I ask to speak to someone in charge. I sincerely hope whoever actually owns or manages this location looks into how customers are being treated when they're not around. Because if this is how employees are representing the business, they have a much bigger customer-service problem than they realize.
