I could get better Havasu merch at a Walmart. There's a really chipper old lady sitting out in front of her shop, she seemed to be the only one in a positive mood. We did buy a tiny souvenir from one dude, but I was really disappointed that none of the vendors had decent keepsakes. Some of the stuff on the shelf was a bit overpriced too, been there done that. The Island Mall is connected to a brewery and a few other island themed restaurants owned by the steakhouse at the corner of the property. Only two of these restaurants were open during midday. We tried the Makai Cafe and the food was good, the service wasn't though!

Good time for an update!…read more I stopped by Gem World last week, and overall, it's still one of the best places around for minerals, crystals, and rocks. The selection is massive. Whenever looking for minerals, this is a highly recommended place to go to. The main issue here, and it's a big one, is unclear and inconsistent pricing. A lot of items simply aren't labeled properly. For example, you'll see trays of quartz with vague Quality ranges like "from A+ to C," but no explanation of what that actually means. Because of this, prices often get decided at the register instead of on the shelf! Ouch! This leads directly to the real problem: whoever helps you can quote you a completely different price for the exact same item. !!! There's one older Asian lady you really want to avoid like plague, for example. no matter how high the prices are, she will always charge a triple the amount it cost. Very greedy. The upselling is aggressive and constant. Prices going up overall is understandable inflation happens. But when pricing isn't transparent, it opens the door to situations like this, and that's frustrating.
