I love the bargains on books to read, clothes to wear, and sometimes a bedroom nightstand for the "guest" bedroom. I got mens pants, towels and wash rags for a lot of pool use, few odds and ends from the outside tables. read more

We were looking all over town for a shower bench for short term use. Someone suggested we come to the Veteran's Thrift. They had numerous to choose from (also wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, & other home health care items). I was amazed when I asked the price, they said "no cost, they are on loan"... wow!!! What a great find! There is so much to look at. I remember their other location we visited a few years ago and it was a lot smaller than this location. We originally planned on being there a very short time. That all changed when I opened the front door and saw all the rooms and all the variety. Found great things on the first pass, then moved on to another area and found myself circling around for a second look and continued to find..... Great treasures at great prices. Cute wood & wrought iron nightstands for $15, computer monitor for $5 to use for our security cameras, small metal dog crate $10, metal bike stand that holds multiple bikes for $10. This place is awesome!! They really help Veterans in need. Support this thrift store. We went there in November looking for a wheelchair, to purchase, they were great when they found out my husband was a Veteran they offered us a loaner wheelchair for several months, as long as needed. The wheelchair was in like new condition. We returned it this week, Candy helped us at the front desk and quickly was able to get a male to off load from our truck. We will be taking all our donations here from now on. We will drive across town and pass all the other donation places, because Veterans Thrift is non profit and Really does take care of Veterans. There are several thrift stores in Havasu and I have visited them a couple of times each. This location is my favorite. It isn't the largest or most well-organized but it has quality clothing. There is one room called the $1.00 room where all the clothing is only $1.00, except Saturday. On Saturday you pay only $5.00 for all the clothes you can fit into a plastic grocery store bag that are available at the register. I have done the $5.00 bag a few times and have really done well for my efforts. The average costs for each of my items come to .60¢. The ladies do their best effort to put as many items into a bag as possible. If you are pretty good at rolling pants up really tight then you can get a great deal on Saturday. There are 5 photos I posted of my $5.00 days and the total for all those was $15.00. Not photographed are the shirt & pants I was wearing and couple of pajama pants. Some of the name brands are IZOD, Perry Ellis, Levi's and Dickie's. Of course, there are many shoes, books, framed art, dishes and small appliances at reasonable prices. read more

This is a great service to our veterans and their families. I have two separate encounters that have been terrific one for a veteran who needed to borrow a scooter, unable to walk or roll a w/c any more and need assistance at home and another veterans's wife which needed to borrow a rollator walker for the weekend (since she was visiting and left her walker in California). The VA thrift store came through without any cost to this veteran or family.. What a terrific gift they provide. Please spread the word and support the thrift store for their many gifts they provide to our vets and their families . They do outstanding work for our community. read more

Really enjoy going to this place. Lots of treasures to choose from. I've purchased furniture, paintings and plenty of $1 DVDs. They always have some sort of sale going on. Make sure you check days/hours they are open. Money goes to serving veterans in the local community. read more

A short story... my husband a Vietnam veteran last year lost his left leg below the knee from agent orange. When he got home we needed a shower chair fast... a friend of ours went out to the Thrift store and was told to go pick one out for free!!! We are still using it because it works perfectly in our walk in shower...We also had to borrow a wheel chair while his electric one was being fixed!!! Those girls there are so nice and helpful and again the Thrift store saved our bacon!! We are very fortunate to have all those nice people helping our heros!!! Thank you so much!!! read more

I specifically come to Havasu for this thrift store. They're great! Lovely nice staff and bargains. They have an entire room where everything is a dollar! And on Saturdays they have a five dollar clothing bag sale. Lately everything has been half off too so you can load up in the dollar room and save big time. Friendly staff, very well organized, clean, really big store! Items are priced to move, very reasonably priced. Clothing was clean and without stains or damage with sizes marked. SHAMEFUL! We moved from another state and had to downsize. Instead of selling our extras, we decided to make a donation to Veterans Thrift. We had several room size rugs that were purchased from Wayfair, several household items, tools, some clothing, etc. I told the Volunteer at the register we have a donation. She made a face and asked "How much?" I told her we have the back of the pick up. Very Negatively, she wanted to know how big the items are. I started describing some things, she calls for another woman who reacted the same way. Negative, rude, and frankly mean. I was embarrassed that I was trying to make a donation. She went on a rant about the one worker available has a bad back and the other was in the hospital. I saw 4 female volunteers. I told her that was fine because my husband and I would be happy to unload it. I actually had expected to. She followed me out of the store to show me where to go around back of the building. When I got in our truck, I was shaken. My husband immediately knew something did not go well. When I spewed out how I was just treated, he pulled out of the drive, taking our items to Goodwill. We will NEVER visit or promote this place. Perhaps they should greet people with a smile and positive attitude. Had they said they would love about items but are worried about unloading themselves, I would have said, No worries, we had planned to do that. Instead, they sneered at me. They are volunteers. Very large thrift store with large book section. Lighting leaves a lot tobe desired. I was told by mgmt that very little goes to waste - clothing not good enough for the racks gets donated to Mexico. Nice that waste doesn't occur here (as opposed to the thrift shop in Q-town which throws away anything with even a stain on it!) read more

Big disapointment! Everything I saw on line and even their own store sign says open until 4pm x. Tuesday thru Saturday. I came at 3pm on Wed and they are closed. No explanation as to why so I won't bother coming back again tomorrow. read more
